Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Minutes laters, their dinner had been served, which for Zoey's perspective was too much. However, since the dishes looked appetizing, she didn't really mind. 

"I specifically asked the chefs to prepare something that was good for your diet, so don't hold back!" Proud, Vivian Xi placed a piece of dish on Zoey as she gestured to her to dig in. 

"Thank you, Mom." Smiling despite that her heart already felt full, Zoey began to dig in. As soon as she picked up the dish that Vivian Xi gave her, two new pieces of meat were placed on her plate. 

One came from Matthew Xi while the other came from Vivian Xi. Zoey hadn't eaten the piece of meat and was still in front of her opened mouth. However, her gaze alternated from Matthew Xi to Vivian Xi which made her the side of her lips twitch. 

For some reason, she could feel electricity clashed from this mother and son duo. Awkwardly, Zoey placed the food inside her mouth as she leaned away discreetly. 

"My son, you should eat too. Don't trouble yourself with my little Zoey — I can feed her until she can not stand." Chuckling, Vivian Xi's eyes glinted as she shook her head sideways. 

"Mhmm," Instead of arguing, Matthew Xi hummed a tune as he nodded his head in understanding. However, his reply might be mistaken as compliance to his mother's advice, but he didn't say it directly. 

"Let's eat..." Being sandwiched by their silent competition, Zoey's chopsticks stopped as both of them turned their attention on whose piece of meat she would pick up first. 

'Please don't look at me as if my life depends on this very moment!' Staring at the two small pieces on her plate, Zoey wept internally as she felt eating right now was akin to standing in front of hell's door. 

Either way, both of them were demons that could open the hell's door for her. Therefore, Zoey had to decide who was the lesser devil in them. 

Gulping down her own saliva, Zoey bit her bottom lip as she picked the one that Vivian Xi first. As soon as Vivian Xi saw her pick hers first, she smiled in satisfaction as she raised her brow and glanced at him triumphantly. 

Meanwhile, a faint scoff slipped past Matthew Xi's lips as his tongue unconsciously touched his tooth on the side. He then returned his focus on his own plate as he remained silent. 

"Eat well, my little Zoey." Smiling brightly because of her victory, Vivian Xi also fixed her position as she looked at dishes she wanted Zoey to try. 

Just then, she saw Zoey's chopstick pick up a piece of radish and placed it on Matthew Xi's plate. Glancing at Zoey, she saw her bear an innocent smile as she continued on eating. 

On the other hand, the gloomy husband's mood brightened up instantly upon seeing who placed that radish on his place. Now, his defeat against his own mother felt worth it if Zoey would feel guilty and feed him. 

Vivian Xi narrowed her eyes as she watched Matthew Xi pick up the piece of radish and eat it without a change in his imperious mien. When Matthew Xi placed the piece of radish inside his mouth, Vivian Xi nearly gasped in disbelief. 

In retrospect, although Matthew Xi was never picky with foods, there were certain types of vegetables, fruits, and dishes he wouldn't eat. That includes radish. But now, he was eating it because Zoey gave it to him?

Wow... Vivian Xi could not help but feel in awe at Zoey's influence on her son. Even Vivian Xi couldn't force him to eat something he didn't want to eat. But perhaps, it was just the person that gave it to him. 

"It's good." Blushing at the love she was receiving plus the food they were eating, Zoey commented as a rare innocent smile formed on her lips. 

Vivian Xi and Matthew Xi instinctively glanced at her and their competition against each other was put on a truce. Seeing her appreciation for the little things these mother and son duo found normal, they were glad she was genuinely happy. 

"I'm happy you liked it." Vivian Xi placed her palm on her chest as she expressed her appreciation towards Zoey's comment. 

Matthew Xi, although he remained silent, the corner of his lips had frozen into a smile. It was as if his smile would always be there as he felt content. 

Given that his mother was competing with him for Zoey's attention, this dinner was perfect. Eating dinner with the love of his life and the woman who had loved him unconditionally in his entire life... he could not ask for more. 

He's just happy. He could not pray for more having these two lovely ladies in his life. Actually, Matthew Xi never appreciated this silent blessing until this moment. 

With that, Matthew Xi didn't compete with Vivian Xi anymore as he let her dote on Zoey. After all, he had Zoey all for himself later. 

"Anyway, don't forget Alice's birthday in 2 days, okay?" Shortly after the dinner was done, Vivian Xi spoke after wiping the corner of her lips. 

Zoey who could barely breathe as it has been awhile since she felt stuffed for a full course meal nodded her head. Which made it worse for her upon hearing the birthday party they were going to attend. 

Thinking that she would meet most of the Xi Clan two days later, Zoey was nervous! This was the first family meeting with them, after all. 

Although she shouldn't be because she was in the good graces of Vivian Xi, Zoey still felt intimidated by the other members of the Xi Family. Knowing the clan's track record, each member excelled in their chosen fields. Heck, Matthew Xi even has politicians as cousins! 

How could she not freak out especially now that her stomach felt heavy for what they had during dinner. "It's fine. You're my wife now." Just as Zoey's internal screaming intensifies, she felt his gentle hand over hers as he spoke. 

"Don't worry. Our family was not that horrible. They're kind people." Smiling brightly, Vivian Xi reassured. 

However, her reassurance wasn't convincing at all! Of course they would be nice towards Vivian Xi and Matthew Xi! They wouldn't simply insult Zoey in front of them.

Zoey's real concern was that they would find a hole in her life and expose her. After all, her early years had been rocky and full of messy holes Matthew Xi would divorce her!

"Don't worry about it." As if Matthew Xi could hear her thoughts, he leaned closer to Zoey and whispered. "No one will dare look up on your files.." He added, causing Zoey to gasp in disbelief as she wondered if he had telepathic powers secretly.
