Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

"Mr. Tang, I don't recall marrying anybody else in the past." Zoey innocently tilted her head to the side, her lips curved down a little. 

"Right..." Ezekiel Tang scoffed, his words mixed his ridicule in hers. "I just remember you saying marrying your previous lover, is he your husband? Or you shifted to another person?" Despite Lucas Xi's presence, Ezekiel Tang didn't hold back as he was purposely trying to repel Lucas Xi from Zoey. 

He didn't think how Zoey got in this event. There were two possibilities after all. One was she got invited by Vivian Xi and the other one was she now had a new lower and she's his date. 

Who knows, Zoey had her methods on climbing up to the social ladder. Her means were unpredictable because in Ezekiel Tang's eyes, she's that greedy. 

"I apologize for intruding on your conversation, but, this is a celebratory event of my cousin and I'm asking you to hold a momentary truce." Lucas Xi chimed in, asking Ezekiel Tang to kindly be cautious with his words. 

After all, it was apparent he held grudges towards Zoey. The reason? Lucas Xi was unsure but he already had a vague idea that he's just bitter. 

After all, Zoey was undoubtedly a smart and fine lady. Hence, he wouldn't be surprised if she rejected this man in the past and he was now trying to embarrass her in front of many people. 

Still, this was not an event for that. The Xi Family had valued a peaceful event. The least they wanted in this banquet was an unnecessary drama. 

"I'm sorry, Atty. Xi." Nodding his head in understanding, Ezekiel Tang apologized halfheartedly. 

"No, I don't think you should apologize to me, but to the lady." Shaking his head, Lucas Xi courtly pointed his hand towards Zoey. 

"Lucas," Just then, Ruby Xi's voice came from behind them with her eyes glancing at Zoey. 

She approached, bearing an elegant and noble demeanor with a few of her friends and artists behind. When she stopped several steps away from them, she raised her chin, propping her right elbow on her other wrist that was wrapped under her chest. 

Ruby Xi's gaze didn't last long on Ezekiel Tang as she was disinterested in a young master like him. Her eyes lasted on Zoey's physique for a moment, studying her from head to toe before averting her gaze and looking at her cousin. 

"What's going on here?" She asked because Ezekiel Tang's loud mocking voice had caught quite an attention without them realizing it. 

"Nothing." Lucas Xi stretched his lips into a meek smile, shrugging his shoulders as it was really nothing for him. 

Their guests or rather, Ruby Xi was just too upright that she tended to react to something that broke the flow. But she was worrying for nothing. 

"I didn't hear you'd bring a date, brother Lu." Beside Ruby Xi, a charming lady with her shiny blonde dyed locks that flowed beautifully down to her delicate shoulder humored. 

"Iris, Miss Zhou is not my date... unfortunately." Chuckling, Lucas Xi humored back as he cast Zoey a glance. 

Meanwhile, Zoey pursed her lips into a thin line with the addition of Matthew Xi's cousins. Upon hearing Lucas Xi's remarks, her brows twitch as she nearly let out a series of coughs. 

'Unfortunately?! Cousin, please think twice of what you say or you might hate me if your possessive cousin heard you!' Zoey complained internally, having the urge to smack Lucas Xi in the head as he was digging a grave for himself! 

Zoey wasn't telling them that she was married to Matthew Xi, afraid they wouldn't believe her. Therefore, she just decided to wait for her darling to come. 

"She's married." Lucas Xi sighed, as if his reaction told Zoey he was late to meet her and lost the chance to captivate her. 

"Oh?" Arching her right brow, Ruby Xi's eyes glinted with curiosity. Yet, she didn't find the need to ask about Zoey's partner as it was personal and she didn't know her. 

"Yes," Offering a meek smile, Zoey nodded her head as he kept her polite manner in check. 

"And he is...?" Shifting her gaze from Zoey, Ruby Xi turned her attention to Ezekiel Tang who seemed to have had a few drinks even before the event officially started. 

"Uhm..." Clueless at Ezekiel Tang's name as well, Lucas Xi also focused his eyes towards Ezekiel Tang. He cocked his head to the side and waited for his introduction. 

After all, Lucas Xi wouldn't even bother knowing the man's name as he just interrupted his conversation with Zoey. Still, now that he seemed he knew Zoey, Lucas Xi wanted to know what's his connection towards the lady he found interesting. 

"My surname is Tang, Ezekiel Tang of Tang Holdings. Pleased to meet you, Atty. Xi, Young Miss Xi, and Miss Xu." Bowing his head slightly, Ezekiel Tang cleared his throat as he introduced himself properly. 

Good thing being shameless, just like Zoey. worked. Now, although he wasn't around the same circle as Richard Sun and Ernest Meng, he was conversing with the Xi's! 

Knowing their track record, Ezekiel Tang felt honored to be asked by them personally. After all, Lucas Xi was one of the top lawyers in the country who had his own large firm while having the Xi Corporation as their number one client. 

Meanwhile, Ruby Xi ran one of the biggest talent agencies that produced superstars like Iris Xu and Enzo Li. Therefore, knowing that they could give a good word about him to the head of the Xi Family, Matthew Xi, Ezekiel Tang was in a win-win situation... or that's what he thought. 

"Tang?" Upon hearing his surname, Ruby Xi recalled that Vivian Xi mentioned someone with the same surname. After all, Vivian Xi had been hanging with Olivia Tang whom Ruby Xi met once. 

"Pleased to meet you, Mr. Tang." With that thought in mind, Ruby Xi's strict stature turned friendly as she thought they were guests invited by her auntie. Hence, she wanted to be as friendly and welcoming to them. 

"No, Miss Xi. It's my pleasure." Thrilled at the sudden change of attitude from Ruby Xi, Ezekiel Tang waved his hand with a bright smile. 

Meanwhile, Lucas Xi and Zoey knitted their brows in puzzlement. For Lucas Xi, he rarely saw Ruby Xi become this friendly unless they were her business partners or she's standing before Vivian and the tyrant Matthew Xi. After all, all Matthew Xi's cousins were like well-behaved lambs because of fear he would them off from the family. 

On the other hand, Zoey was baffled at Ruby Xi's high regards towards Ezekiel Tang upon knowing his name.. 'Did I miss something in between?' She wondered internally.
