Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

"What a jerk." When Ruby Xi and Ezekiel Tang joined the businessmen's circle, Iris Xu scoffed. 

"I hate people like him the most." She added, Zoey blinked as she gulped. 

Zoey didn't expect that from Iris Xi. Surely, she's more outspoken and Enzo Li wasn't exaggerating when he told her Iris Xu was the brat — an annoying one at that. 

Regardless, Zoey preferred this personality as she could tell Iris Xu was real. She doesn't sugarcoat her words and if she said she likes Zoey, that means she likes her. Nothing else. 

That's good enough, right? At the very least, Zoey made a good impression on Matthew Xi's cousins and had them by her side.

"Iris, mind your words." Lucas Xi cast his cousin a warning gaze as if his eyes were telling her to conduct herself properly. 

"I know. I just find him annoying — more annoying than Enzo." Rolling her eyes, Iris Xu frowned as she had a bad feeling towards Ezekiel Tang. 

Perhaps, her guts got to her. Whatever it was, Iris Xu didn't think of befriending him even if he was Vivian Xi's guest. 

"Anyway, Miss Zhou, would you like to join me and my friends? The event is starting soon." Shaking his head at Iris Xu's petty reasoning, Lucas Xi turned to Zoey and smiled. 

"While your husband is not around. I'm certain he would prefer you making connections in his absence." Lucas Xi shot Zoey a knowing look as he said in a matter-of-fact tone. 

Well, he had a point though. Since Zoey's date had been taking his precious time and let Zoey arrive without him, Lucas Xi was just trying to help her out. After all, if he left Zoey, she would be alone again. 

Or rather, someone might come up to her with ill-intentions. Lucas Xi was more trustworthy than everyone around here as they would get whatever they wanted by means or foul. 

Moreover, he was sort of amused at Zoey and wanted to know more about her. He wasn���t stepping out of the line if he helped her, right? 

"Sure." Taking Lucas Xi's last remarks into consideration, Zoey nodded her head before Lucas Xi led the way. 

"Right, it's about time for Alice's entrance. I'll be tonight's host, so, I'll leave Miss Zhou in Big Brother Lu's care~!" Meanwhile, Iris Xu smiled upon checking her wristwatch. 

Before she went, Iris Xu somehow winked at Lucas Xi which made him chuckle. Zoey, who had seen that supposed 'secret' wink could not help but twitch her brows. 

'What was that wink all about?' Zoey wondered, but deep down, she somehow guessed what it was. 

Iris Xu was rooting for Lucas Xi and her?! What's up with these people? Even after knowing she's married, they couldn't care less?!

Were they expecting Zoey to divorce her hubby just because she was charmed by Lucas Xi? Although Lucas Xi was dashing and was above average, he wasn;t at par with Matthew Xi! 

"Alright." In between his chuckles, Lucas Xi waved his hand while Zoey stared at his side profile. 

'Well... I take back my words that he can't be at par with my darling in terms of looks.' Zoey gulped, could not help but admire Lucas Xi's charm. 

It was his smile in his seemingly stoic front that caught Zoey's eyes. Realizing what she was thinking, Zoey shook her head as she shrugged her thoughts off. 

Matthew Xi would definitely punish her if he knew what she was thinking. Surely, the genes of the Xis were akin to noble blooded vampires as they had their charms in their own way. 

Even Ruby Xi, who seemed to look like a strict, old-fashioned lady has her charms; it was her elegant demeanor. 

As Lucas Xi walked with Zoey shoulder to shoulder, the event started with Iris Xu standing over the stage. "Distinguished guests, first of all, we would like to thank you for sparing time for us despite your busy schedule..." Iris Xu spoke over the microphone with a radiant smile on her lips. 

As she was speaking about the formalities, Zoey's attention was caught by how Iris Xu's personality changed from a brat to a seemingly matured woman. 'Wow... no wonder she's one of the top paid actresses in her generation.' Zoey awed internally. 

Since Zoey's attention was on the beautiful flower standing in the middle of the stage, Zoey bumped into a waiter who was serving drinks. 

"Hey!" Fortunately, Lucas Xi glanced at Zoey at the same time she bumped into the servant. 

Thanks to his fast reflexes, Lucas Xi was able to catch Zoey by her lean waist to avoid herself from tripping over. "Careful, Miss Zhou." Lucas Xi said worriedly. 

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" On the other hand, the waiter who was innocent in this mild collision bowed his head as he expressed his wholehearted apologies. 

"Watch your way, this is a fair warning." Seeing that Zoey was alright, Lucas Xi didn't let go of her as his piercing gaze landed on the waiter. 

As soon as he met Lucas Xi's sharp gaze, the waiter who already tried avoiding Zoey but failed gulped a mouthful of saliva. "Yes, my apologies." Even though he knew he wasn't in the wrong, the waiter could only apologize as his life would end tonight if he offended anyone in this event. 

"No, it's fine. It's my fault. Thank you." Shaking her head, Zoey cleared her throat as she gently pushed the arm that was around her. 

However, that very second, a chill ran down her spine as she felt a cold gaze from behind. 'Of all time he could arrive...' Even though Zoey hadn't seen who was the person behind her, she could already tell who it was as her radar for her darling was stronger than any satellite on this planet. 

"Are you fine?" Retracting his hand away from her, Lucas Xi stared at Zoey worriedly as his hands involuntarily held on her shoulders. 

"Watch where you touch her." To Zoey's dismay, it was not that cold Matthew Xi's voice she heard but from Enzo Li. 

Turning to the source of the voice, Zoey's face distorted in disappointment but at the same time, she was relieved that it wasn't her darling. 

"I'm just concerned, that's all." Lucas Xi smiled, not a bit threatened by the unusual vibe coming from Enzo Li. 

"You shouldn't be. You have to be more concerned about yourself." Clicking his tongue, Enzo Li glanced at Zoey before a faint mocking scoff escaped his lips. 

'Wha— what did I do?' Clueless at Enzo Li's strange behavior towards her, Zoey blinked her eyes in puzzlement as Enzo Li left the two alone. 

"Don't mind him. He's just jealous, probably.." Lucas Xi humored, seeing Zoey's colorful reaction.
