Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Zoey bit her lower lip, her heart fluttered at his simple yet heavy statement. How could a person accept someone with a terrible past? Was he not afraid of realizing what kind person he was married to?

This deep trust and love he was giving her was enough to move mountains for her. It was enough for her to think it was fine to tell him everything because he would accept her no matter what. 

"You don't have to give me the details, I believe you." Watching her expressions soften, Matthew Xi squeezed her hand gently with a loving smile. "Let the past remain where it belongs. What matters now is the present and the future..." Staring at her straight in the eye, Matthew Xi expressed his heart as whatever explanation she would say, it didn't matter anymore. 

Be it a petty reason or a grave one, that didn't matter. His love for her wouldn't change; too late for him to reverse the name Zoey that was deeply carved in his heart. 

"Our future, I will protect it. As long as I'm here, no one will be able to touch you again — that includes the ones you've been silently protecting." He smiled meekly, but the sparkle in his eyes made Zoey see her reflection. 

Her reflection... it brought out a different beauty that Zoey couldn't see in the mirror. It was as if in his eyes, she's the most beautiful existence in the world; as if she could see the world in it. 

"Okay..." Zoey nodded her head in agreement, resting the side of her head on his shoulder. 

"Thank you." As a peaceful silence enveloped them again, Zoey whispered. 

"Mhmm," Matthew Xi hummed a tune, stroking her hair lovingly. 

The ride home was spent in silence and peace. Glancing at Zoey, Matthew Xi smiled as she fell asleep. 

Normally, Zoey would tease him with every chance she could have. However, lately, she seemed to be tired and often slept a lot. 

Matthew Xi didn't assume any other conclusion as he knew she was taking birth controls. Perhaps, it was just because he'd been tiring her every night for the past few weeks. 

Thinking that the excessive night exercise was the reason, Matthew Xi thought he would try lessening it. After all, he had to consider Zoey was now back to work and needed enough energy to work during the day. 

It might be challenging for him especially when he found her seductive in everything she does. Still, he would try. 

With that thought in mind, Matthew Xi didn't dare wake up Zoey as he carried her out. Yet, she woke up anyway while rubbing her eyes. 

"Keep sleeping, we're home." Kissing her on the forehead, Matthew Xi smiled as he carried Zoey in a bridal style while Paul Qian automatically opened the door for them.

The next day...

Zoey peeked through the gap of the mirror, her brows twitched at the sight she was seeing. 

"How did I become a celebrity overnight?" She muttered, seeing a few reporters camping across Z Image Building. 

Although it was considered few unlike the paparazzi following celebrities around, this was still new to Zoey. After all, this was the first time that the media found interest in her. 

But why? Matthew Xi only mentioned Z Image Group once. Now, these reporters were quick to conclude she's the mystery wife of the man running the giant XI Corporation. 

Zoey was conflicted, though. Not because of these reporters but the clients lining up to do projects with them. She should be glad... but accepting other clients mindlessly would result in conflict with their other business associates who were in the same field as her. 

After all, Zoey ran this business with less drama because she showed mutual respect to her competitors in the same industry. She never poached anyone or snatched someone else's client using underhanded means. 

"Jeez... I should've known my darling's words weigh that much.��� Zoey mumbled, shaking her head as she blamed herself for not seeing this ahead. 

Just then, just as Zoey was about to retract her eyes from outside, her under eye twitched as soon as she spotted the flashy red sports car stopping in front of the building. 

Obviously, Zoey immediately recognized the owner of that car: Enzo Li! Great! He must have sensed the sudden popularity of Z Image Group and came to give her more headache. 

"He's doing this on purpose." Upon seeing him exit his car, Enzo Li didn't even try to hide his face. He didn't even try to dress decently with his casual loose shirt, pants, and unruly hair. 

His beauty still shone, regardless. Enzo Li glanced at the reporters briefly before heading inside as if he was just going home. 

"Damn it!" Grinding her teeth, Zoey cracked her fingers as she knew her people would come here and announce Enzo Li's presence. Of course, Zoey would invite him in and strangle him to death! 

Shortly after Enzo Li entered the building, Zoey heard a light knock on the door before Melanie Xue came in to inform her about Enzo Li. As planned, Zoey beamed Melanie Xue a large, demonic grin and told her to let him in. 

"Yo, Zhou Zo—!" Just as Enzo Li entered her office for the first time, he stopped in his tracks so his lips remained open.

The aura circling inside this office has not much of a difference from hell! Just what kind of demonic aura was this?!

"Yo, who?" Smiling at Enzo Li, Zoey giggled evilly as she raised her brows. 

"What's this grand entrance all about, Mr. Li Enzo?" Zoey fluttered her eyelashes beautifully, as if innocent of any indecent thoughts all this time. 

Enzo Li cleared his throat, massaging his shoulder as he strode towards the couch. "Is this how you treat your prospective business partner? No tea, etcetera?" Casting Zoey a disdainful glance, Enzo Li scoffed as he purposely ignored her initial question. 

"Prospect, what?" Frowning, Zoey's eyes bore disbelief as she couldn't believe her ears. 

Enzo Li? Business? That was quite an odd mix because as far as she recalled, Enzo Li told her he didn't plan to live as a businessman. 'It's not for me', were his exact words in the past.. Hence, the unconvinced reaction from Zoey.
