Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 301 - Son Of A...!

"Wohoo !" As Kenneth Bai passed by the first point, a small crowd by the side of the road carrying cameras cheered.

Currently, Kenneth Bai was ahead of Zoey and he wasn't going easy on her. Kenneth Bai saw Zoey as an equal, hence, despite being ahead of her, it wasn't enough for him to assume that he was the victor.

After all, this was a race and anything could happen until the last minute. She might turn the table, who knows? Although Kenneth Bai highly doubted that, still, lowering his guard has been a no-no to him.

Meanwhile, Zoey who was lagging behind with an acceptable distance glued her eyes on the road. "He's really good." She constantly clicked her tongue because she couldn't really outrun him.

Kenneth Bai, although a professional car racer, knew a thing or two about street racing. He knew the road was a lot different than the race track. Thus, if he kept his momentum up, Zoey would surely lose.

Fortunately, Zoey had raced with him in her previous life. She only needed to keep a safe distance from him. Her mind was focused on his habit that she had noticed in her previous life and a few clips she had watched.

"One and only opportunity, Z. You'll be fine." Zoey whispered, relaxing her grip on the handle grip as she drove in a fast yet steady pace.

Soon, both of them saw a red light as they entered the highway. As expected, Kenneth Bai had to decelerate his speed before coming to a full halt.

Seconds later, Zoey also stopped beside him. When she stopped, Kenneth Bai glanced at her causing the corner of his lips to curl into a smirk.

His eyes beamed with excitement as he admitted that his view towards Zoey had changed. "Not bad, huh?" He commended, raising his hand which was clad in a glove and showed her a brief thumbs up.

Zoey turned her head to him and the side of her lips stretched up. As a reply, Zoey shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly before turning her head to the front.

"Hehe..." Although those were the only words that were spoken, Zoey and Kenneth Bai understood each other enough.

Words were not needed for the two of them to compliment each other's skills. To be honest, Kenneth Bai had forgotten how frustrated he was earlier with Zoey. This race had overshadowed his first impression of her.

"Good luck!" Just as the red light turned yellow, Zoey readied herself and accelerated at full speed once it hit the green light.

"Huh, fool." Although Zoey sped off before him, Kenneth Bai just chuckled as he followed suit.

Throughout the first half of the race, Zoey had kept a close distance with him. Still, with her motorcycle's engine, it was just impossible to win.

It might be a shame, but Kenneth Bai wouldn't even think about this expected victory if Zoey used the same brand as his. After all, he must admit that Zoey knew the game she was playing. The outcome would be vague if only she used a different motorcycle.

Shortly after, Kenneth Bai came close to Zoey and eventually drove beside her. He glanced at her and studied her behavior as his opponent.

In his perspective, Zoey wasn't thinking of giving up despite the fact that he had caught up with her. If anything, her determination and focus never dwindled all throughout. Seeing this kind of behavior, Kenneth Bai was in genuine awe.

Truly, Zoey was the kind of opponent he mustn't underestimate. She was also the type of person he had been looking for in this field with which he had fallen in love a long time ago.

However, Kenneth Bai slowly lost his passion for car racing because of many things: First, the lack of determination from his opponents. Second, there was no challenge anymore as he felt that he was the only enthusiastic person in each race. And lastly, his recent discovery.

'You got my respect, monkey.' Kenneth Bai held his speed back as he drove beside Zoey. Upon declaring his respect towards the woman, Kenneth Bai drove past her.

As a sign of respect, Kenneth Bai would give his all in this race. He wouldn't show her mercy. She might lose, but she gained his respect. Kenneth Bai would love to race with her again and next time, they would ride the same high-level engine.

Having that in mind, Kenneth Bai's speed slowly picked up his pace. He passed by a few patrols, but with his current speed, no one would bother chasing after him.

Call them lazy, but with that speed, the patrols in the area were certain it was unnecessary. It would be a waste of time as their vehicles were rather at a standard form and this road wasn't inside the well-secured city.

Kenneth Bai knew this laziness as he was raised by a family of politicians. Therefore, he knew a bit or two about this and read a lot of rules. With his speed, no one would dare chase at him because they knew they wouldn't keep up.

A good route, he must say. Kenneth Bai could only give the credits to Zoey's friends as they surely knew their safe routes.

While Kenneth Bai drove at full speed, he glanced at the side mirror which caused his brows to knit. 'Where's she?' He wondered, constantly glancing at the side mirror from time to time until they entered the highway tunnel.

Tunnel lights flashed across his vision due to his speed. For some reason, Kenneth Bai couldn't get her out of his head. She had been keeping a close distance with him, but after he had driven at full speed he had noticed that Zoey was not within his proximity anymore.

'Should I wait...?' As he was reaching the end of the road tunnel, Kenneth Bai wondered internally.

The idea instantly vanished inside his mind as that might be considered as disrespectful. Although winning or losing was not important to him anymore, Kenneth Bai wanted to stay firm on their pride as riders.

'Damn it, Ken!' Kenneth Bai clenched his teeth hard as he loosened his tight grip before revving at max speed upon exiting the road tunnel.

Just as Kenneth Bai exited the tunnel, he caught a speeding motorcycle from the corner of his eyes. Out of instinct, Kenneth Bai drifted as he changed lanes to avoid the speeding motorcycle from the other side of the road.

"Son of a....!" Kenneth Bai chuckled in amusement, witnessing that she literally broke the traffic rules and rerouted to catch up.
