Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 325 - We Don’t Need DNA Testing

"Wild guess…" Ivan repeated under his breath. He gazed at Zoey's proud front and sighed once again. "Really, sis?" He muttered in disbelief. Now, he was convinced that Zoey had totally lost her mind.

First, she was telling him in a tone full of seriousness that she has a side profession of telling people's fortune. And now, when she had this so-called vague vision — which to be honest, Ivan was skeptical about — she had used her wild guesses and concluded that the 'usurper' she was talking about was a dead person.

If their friends back home knew about this reason, they would glare daggers at Zoey for wasting their time. After all, they all knew that Inigo was dead and they had to dig the grave and go through all those troubles for nothing. Nikolai was not counted as he was a lost cause. He was already hailing Zoey as a goddess and wouldn't mind digging every grave in the cemetery if Zoey asked him to.

Therefore, Ivan was rendered speechless as this level of ridiculousness was too much to understand. Yet, since the word was out, Ivan could only expect that Zoey was wrong and she was just being a little crazy.

"Was this because of the break up with that scumbag?" After some time, Ivan inquired as he couldn't think of other possibilities than this particular reason.

No one could blame Ivan, though. Zoey seemed so fond of that guy that she couldn't see how useless Ezekiel Tang was. She even threatened Ivan not to touch a single strand of him and to stop monitoring Ezekiel Tang's move because Zoey wouldn't believe whatever Ivan found out.

"Ah?" For a second, Zoey was confused at the person he was pertaining to. When she realized that he was referring to Ezekiel Tang, Zoey's face immediately distorted in disgust. "Hell no!" Without batting an eye, Zoey exclaimed in disdain.

What's this got to do with Ezekiel Tang? Zoey would want to puke just thinking that she went back in the year where she was Ezekiel Tang's mistress! But since she got to meet Matthew Xi earlier, that's the only consolation Zoey after a year of angst in her previous life and how messed up this year was.

"Jeez… just two weeks ago, you were like someone who would murder someone for him, but now… I don't understand you, sis." As he studied Zoey's disdain upon the thought of Ezekiel Tang, Ivan shook his head sideways.

No matter how hard he put the pieces together, it just doesn't fit. Although he knew how unpredictable she was, she got more unreadable and ridiculous. Just what was going on in her mind? What did she want to attain? And why was she doing fortune-telling?

Zoey could just ask Ivan to lend her some money. After all, Ivan had savings as he rarely spent money. He didn't have anything to spend it on. He would be more pleased if Zoey extorted money from him if she truly needed it for her company.

"Anyway, my readings have been pretty accurate, so don't fret and stop involving that ugly creature in the conversation." Zoey shrugged, before glaring daggers at him as she reminded him not to mention Ezekiel Tang ever again.

Not that she was bitter about him. Maybe she was; bitter that she had a low standard to date someone and ended up as a love sick girl to an undeserving guy named Ezekiel Tang. Gosh, she was too naïve and foolish before time-traveling.

Zoey didn't even realize this even in her entire previous life until the time-travel. After all, she wouldn't meet Matthew Xi if she wasn't heart broken. Still, now, because of the changes, Zoey didn't feel the need to appreciate that episode in her life as she met her darling without going through the humiliation of being the third party.

"Yes, yes, whatever." Hopeless to understand her train of thoughts, Ivan nodded his head and another sigh slipped past his lips.

Just then, he felt a vibration from his jeans' back pocket. Ivan immediately fished his phone out and checked who it was; an international call! Ivan glanced at Zoey while Zoey knitted her brows together and zipped her lips close.

Shortly, Ivan answered the call knowing it was Nikolai who often used other's phones as if he didn't have one. "Yes?" As soon as the line connected, Ivan spoke and slowly perched on the edge of the bed.

His gaze shifted to Zoey as she mouthed and gestured to put it on loudspeaker. Since silence was what answered Ivan, he sighed but still listened to her. Thus, in the next second, Ivan put it on loud speaker because this was a safe place.

No one would be listening in here, anyway. Moreover, in this case, he wouldn't be the one that Zoey was being delusional to assume that Inigo was alive. At the very least, Ivan wouldn't be the one to express his disdain to her for troubling everyone due to her wild guess.

"Ivan, where's Zia?" After a minute of silence, they finally heard Nikolai's solemn voice come from the other end of the line. The tone of his voice immediately caused Ivan to knit his brows because Nikolai sounded a little more serious than the usual.

"I'm here." Without waiting for Ivan to answer, Zoey chimed in as she had figured what happened back home. "Do a DNA test to see if it's truly Inigo." She added, guessing that they found a corpse so to be sure about it, Zoey didn't want to waste time on giving instructions to her previous boss! The audacity if others hear her.

"No, Zia."

"Hey, you have to listen to me!" Yet, his response was perceived as defiance because of their rank in the family. After all, Zoey was a mere yet remarkable foot soldier, but her rank was too low to give instructions to Nikolai.

"Sis," Ivan frowned at her aggressiveness. However, Zoey just glared at him in distress before she snatched the phone away from him.

A disconsolate noise came from the other end of the line. "Zia, I am listening." Nikolai muttered, but that wasn't enough for Zoey. If he was listening to her, he should do it all the way. What's the problem of doing DNA testing?

Zoey knew that the reason she gave to Ivan was utter nonsense. But at least, Nikolai would have to listen to her. Sure, she'd been speaking rubbish and often argued with Nikolai, but he listened to her regardless.

Did something happen in this current timeline? Zoey could not recall changing anything back home. Aside from the race and the one night stand, that shouldn't have affected Nikolai's side! Thus, Zoey had an immediate headache with Nikolai's change that shouldn't happen!

"Zia, you think too much." Nikolai shook his head, imagining how Zoey's mind processed everything twice as fast as usual. She hadn't let him talk yet, and she was already overthinking.

"But —"

"We don't need DNA testing because there's no corpse inside." Nikolai interrupted her just as she was about to argue and dropped the news. He then looked down at the empty coffin they had dug up, shaking his head once again.
