There was no need to pretend he was a different person living in such a small space. Even though Paul Qian's place was decent enough and a small family could live in comfortably, for Matthew Xi, it still felt cramped.

The sacrifices he had to know Zoey... it might be small to others but to someone like him, it was already huge. Especially if everyone knew that Matthew Xi lived in such a place during the days of his absence.

"Young Master," As soon as Matthew Xi exited the car owned by Paul Qian, a line of maids and butlers lined up outside to welcome him.

Bowing before him, Matthew Xi traveled his gaze on them. Usually, he wouldn't even bother to notice this grand welcome as it was a normal occurrence.

However, he was suddenly reminded of Zoey's employees. Those happy-go-lucky people that shamelessly gave him a mortifying nickname.

"Tsk," The clicked of his tongue was faint yet, somehow, the servants heard that annoyed sound.

Matthew Xi didn't notice it but everyone lowered their heads even more, some even stopped breathing for a second. Afraid that they would lose their job because Matthew Xi seemed to be in a bad mood.

More than that, they all knew who was waiting for him inside the premises. Therefore, they sincerely hoped that Matthew Xi wouldn't vent his frustration by firing everyone tonight.

When Matthew Xi arrived at the spacious and grandiose living area, his eyes sharpened upon seeing two ladies on the living area.

One woman was already in her mid 50's yet it was evident that she looked younger than her age. There was a bit of resemblance in her demeanor and facial features with Matthew Xi.

The other woman was younger, much younger that appeared to be in her mid 20's. She was beautiful, elegant, and modest.

"Son! You finally came back!" Sensing his presence, the elegant middle-aged woman turned to his direction.

Upon laying her eyes on him, a gentle smile formed on her lips as she slowly rose from her seat. She then trudged towards Matthew Xi with open arms.

"Why are you here?" Watching her mother approached, Matthew Xi inquired not moving an inch from his position.

"Oh dear," Sighing by her son's cold treatment, Vivian Xi stared lowered her spread arms. "I haven't heard from you and you've been absent for a long time. Your assistant wouldn't tell me where were you so I got worried. Will you blame me for worrying about my son's whereabouts?" Sounding disheartened, Vivian Xi reasoned out before she gestured him to go inside.

"No, Mother. My question is not for you but for that woman." Cold and inexpressive as ever, Matthew Xi glanced at the modest woman sitting on the living area.

She should have foreseen that even as pretty as Alyssa Jing wouldn't spark anything within her dense son. Gosh... all her life, Vivian Xi never thought that her son would have a problem with ladies.

Well, the ladies never had a problem with Matthew Xi — it was the opposite. Matthew Xi never showed interest to a woman. The reason for those scandalous rumors about her Matthew Xi being gay.

"Mother, you can either spend your time with me alone or let Miss Jing accompany you. Be safe on your way." Matthew Xi slightly bowed his head to his mother, keeping the respect he had for his mother.

However, he could not conceal the fact that he was displeased that some unknown woman intruded his place. Now, he felt that his place needed some general cleaning and be sanitized.

Of course, Alyssa Jing heard everything Matthew Xi spouted. However, despite the awkwardness, she tried to smile and keep her composure intact.

It was her first time meeting Matthew Xi and Alyssa Jing must admit that he looks ten times better than she expected. After all, Matthew Xi was like a rare species and even though the Jing Family had wealth, they were still not eligible to stand before the king.

"Little Jing, I'll let my driver send you home. My son seemed to be in a foul mood, is that alright with you?" When Matthew Xi left the living area, Vivian Xi returned to Alyssa Jing and smiled.

"I understand, Auntie." Stretching her lips a little up, Alyssa Jing nodded her head in understanding.
