On the second thought, Matthew Xi perceived that Zoey might also just using this trick for him to scram. Hence, he remained quiet while staring at her without a word.

"Okay...! I won't tease." After some time, Zoey rolled her eyes before she crawled to the front passenger seat. She expected that he would get mad and leave, yet he didn't.

Instead, he remained cool despite the lack of expression. Surely, Matthew Xi wasn't any ordinary Romeo. He somehow figured her antics. What a smart man.

Matthew Xi watched her crawl to the other seat before he hitched inside. Without a word, he started the engine and began maneuvering the vehicle.

Glancing to his side, he spoke. "Seatbelt."

"Don't wanna." Zoey refused as she reclined the seat. "It'll be hard to nap..." she explained.

However, Matthew Xi wasn't appeased. Thus, while they were still near the apartment, he pulled over. "Then don't nap." Turning to face her, Matthew Xi coldly responded.

Zoey only glanced at him before she closed her eyes. "No can do." She murmured, not abiding to his command.

"Why are you doing this?" Frustrated how stubborn Zoey was, Matthew Xi heaved heavily to calm himself down.

'Apologize? Tsk, never.' He thought internally as his mother's words resurfaced in his head.

"Doing what?" Zoey with her eyes still closed dawdled. "Don't worry, we won't be in an accident — I trust you."

"No matter how careful I drive, we don't know the cars next to ours if they are cautious. Prevention is better than cure, Miss Zhou." Matthew Xi had the urge to rip his hair apart as Zoey's attitude was getting on his nerves. But he only ruffled his hair and leaned back, breathing heavily to calm himself down.

"Then that's our luck's fault." Zoey could feel him restraining his temper. However, that wasn't enough to change her mind and abide.

To her, if she lives, she lives — thank you, Lord. But if something happened causing her life, that would be a shame.

Indeed, Matthew Xi was correct when he said they were strangers; he knew little about her.

The only difference in their perspective was, Zoey looked forward to what surprise he could offer. She was not afraid to know more about him because she fears something more than that — she fears herself more.

Therefore, Zoey would understand if Matthew Xi explained his dilemma. After all, Zoey also don't trust herself.

Despite that, that didn't mean Zoey would stop. After all, she's the unstoppable Zoey that always gets her way under any means.

"Luck..." Matthew Xi was in utter disbelief upon hearing her reasoning. It was so ridiculous that it rendered him speechless.

"Yeah?" Zoey languidly greeted. "Ah? Where are you?" Her brows arched as she listened to the man from the other end of the line.

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi constantly cast her a side glance which made his brows furrowed. He had a glimpse of the caller and saw it was Enzo Li. Therefore, Matthew Xi was intrigued about the reason of the call.

Considering the time, Matthew Xi thought that Zoey and Enzo Li seemed to be really close. After all, Zoey was in Enzo Li's place the other night — the reason he had a hard time sleeping thinking about it.

"You want to sleepover?" Suddenly, Zoey tilted her head to the side as she confirmed the request from Enzo Li.

Upon hearing that, Matthew Xi's ear flapped. 'Sleepover? To her place? Huh...' Turning to face her, his eyes bore disbelief as he peered at Zoey's side profile.

He could not help but think what kind of relationship Zoey has with his relative? Before Matthew Xi's mind could run wild and have ridiculous scenario between Enzo Li and Zoey, he cleared his throat.

"Sure, let's date." Matthew Xi purposely let the person from the other end of the line hear him.

"Ah?" As soon as he spoke, Zoey didn't bother to listen to Enzo Li as she turned to the driver's seat, blinking her eyes innocently. "Darling, come again?"

Matthew Xi didn't answer her but glanced at the phone that was placed in front of her ear. "Hey, I'll call you later." Zoey said and ended the call as she stared at him.
