Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 417 - Darling... It's Me.

Meanwhile, as soon as Zoey reached the bathroom, she slammed it closed and leaned her back against the door. "Gosh…" Under her breath, she breathed heavily as she closed her eyes.

Shortly, her shaking knees gave way and made her collapse on the floor dramatically. "Who wants to be just friends with you…" She whispered, still breathing heavily as she felt her face heat up.

Of course, she didn't want to be 'just' friends with him. He was her husband, technically. At the very least, seven years from now, they were legally married and expecting a child whom they loved even before he or she was born.

The reason Zoey could barely keep herself together whenever he made his advances!

Considering they didn't talk for two weeks, Zoey's heart and soul longed for his presence and embrace. She was so vulnerable at the moment that she nearly lost her mind and threw herself at him.

"He's really not good for my heart." She mumbled, patting her chest as she stabilized her breathing. "But really… my husband is so different compared to seven years later." Slowly, Zoey tilted her head back, resting it against the door as she looked at the ceiling.

"He's deadly gorgeous…" Zoey muttered, her face squeezing at the center as her first words were not something she needed at the moment. "Calm your tits, girl. Your flower hasn't been watered for a long time… you survived, though." She added, advising herself as if she was talking to another person.

'Don't let your love and lust take over you that you know can cost him his life.' The rest of her advice hovered inside her head, causing her to nod in acknowledgement. "Right…" She whispered, clearing her throat as she gathered her thoughts.

"There's a bigger picture, Z." She reminded, nodding her head as she slowly assisted herself up. "Don't fall for his trap even though he looks at you as if you're the most beautiful girl he had ever laid his eyes on… As she talked to herself, Zoey trudged towards the sink to wash her hands.

However, Zoey stopped, her entire body froze upon seeing her reflection in the mirror. Her brows beneath her thick drawn brows involuntarily twitched from almost not recognizing herself with the excessive makeup.

"Yeah, the most beautiful face he had laid his eyes on…" Zoey repeated, sarcasm laced her tone as she leaned closer towards the mirror. "Gosh… how can he flirt with me looking like this?" She wondered, angling her face from side to side to see if there was a trace of her real face but to no avail.

What was staring back at her and moving with each of her movements was akin to a monster. Well, not that she didn't plan to look embarrassing. The thing was, Zoey almost forgot about it because Matthew didn't say anything nor did he act differently.

Matthew acted like he would always act since she met him the first time in this lifetime. He was, well, flirtatious which irked her a little. Despite the horrendous makeup that shocked a few souls in this building, he was still the same.

"Does he like this kind of makeup?" Zoey wondered in a whisper, sighing heavily as she had no clue of the answer. Of course, normal human beings including Zoey would be weirded out by this facade.

On a second thought, Matthew was a 'divine' level of human being. Thus, Zoey was unsure if her husband had these weird kinks. Was this the reason he was acting a little extra?

If so, did she just make herself more attractive in his eyes? Should she doll up more and maybe he would find her less interesting? Was that the answer she had been looking for all this time?

"Ughh… headache." Zoey massaged her temples, having all these thoughts in mind was giving her a real headache. "Whatever. I will find out anyway and having this makeup as a mask is better than being known to the world." She shrugged, washing her hands as she threw all thoughts to the back of her head.

"You were gone for long." As Zoey returned, Matthew glanced up at her.

"I needed to retouch my makeup." Zoey shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, plopping down onto the head seat.

"I'm hungry, so I had a bite." In a matter-of-fact tone, Matthew informed which made her glance at him suspiciously.

"You ate it?" Her right brow arched, darting her eyes suspiciously from the food and then to him. "And, did you hear what I just said? I retouched my makeup." She stressed, inciting some kind of response from him about her makeup.

"Mhmm," Since she didn't believe him, Matthew picked up another piece of meat using his chopsticks and shoved it inside his mouth without a second thought. "I did," As he chewed the small piece of meat down, Matthew answered as he nodded his head.

'Gosh… I'm a piece of meat too, you can eat me!' As she watched him eat the piece of meat, Zoey's subconscious mind screamed like a desperate lady. 'Shut up, pervert!' She scolded back, arguing against herself which she found normal because she had been arguing with herself since she time traveled.

"Ahem!" She coughed, clearing her throat. "Do you like it?" She asked, pointing at her face using her index finger.

"Is there a difference?" As honest as he may wanted to be, Matthew answered which was purely not meant for her to misunderstand but it was, anyway.

"Ha??" She gasped, placing her palm on her chest as she peered at him in dismay. "No difference? Browny, do I look that bad in your eyes?!" She sassed, utterly insulted at the thought.

Matthew might be the most good looking man she had ever laid her eyes on. However, does that also mean that he was too good-looking that everyone in his eyes appeared as a caricature? Still, that's impossible! Zoey was confident she doesn't look that bad without this make up, or rather even with a bare face!

"Browny?" Still not understanding her over reaction, Matthew tilted his head to the side as he focused on the name she just called him.

"Yes! You're…" Just before Zoey could tease him at the infamous nickname she gave him in their previous life, she halted seeing him massage his temples. "What? What? What happened?" She asked worriedly, leaning closer to check him.

'Browny, are you awake?!' Out of nowhere, a woman's panicking voice rang inside his head, causing his head throb as if some vein in his brain was about to erupt.

"Hey!!" Zoey tugged his shoulder, snapping him back in surprised. "Are you alright?!" She asked worriedly, the explosive makeup couldn't even hide her expression.

"You…" As Matthew breathed heavily at this sudden memory attack, his eyes shook as he stared at her clownish face. "Who are you?" Suddenly, Matthew grabbed her by the wrist aggressively, his eyes darkened as he momentarily lost it.

Who wouldn't? The voice in his head sounded the same as her. Now that he thought about it, Zoey's voice had a resemblance of the voices he would often hear in his recurring vague dreams recently.

"Hey, you're…" Zoey tried to pull her hand away, but that only led his grip to tighten. "Darling…" Zoey felt overwhelmed, calling him softly as he seemed to become a different person which rang emergency alarms inside her head.. "It's me," She pursed her lips, ignoring the pain on her wrist as her other hand reached him, cupping his cheek, the touch bringing him back to light.
