Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 437 - Last Man Standing III

"I'm here! Come and get me!" The next second, Owen shouted loudly, hearing his own voice amongst the resounding echoes.

Ryan nearly jolted as he heard the voice from ahead. 'This visor really heightens other senses.' He thought, the side of his lips curled up into a cunning smirk as he held his rifle. 'Wish granted.' He remarked internally, cautiously headed towards the kitchen.

Fortunately, Ryan had a photographic memory. Therefore, he could picture the hall and what it looked like despite temporarily losing his sight. Each and every step of his almost didn't make any sound as he leaned his back on the wall beside the entrance of the kitchen.

'Patience… patience…' He reminded himself, holding his breath as he tried to detect Owen's location. However, several seconds passed and Owen didn't make a noise as well. Both were waiting for each other to lose their patience and make a mistake by making sound, revealing their location. Or at least, give a hint of where they were.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

At the three minutes mark, three consecutive loud bangs were heard inside the kitchen. One bullet grazed Ryan's shoulder, but fortunately he managed to hide his entire frame behind the wall.

'Motherf*cker!' Through his gritted teeth, Ryan winced as he could feel his shoulder sting painfully. Although there was no blood nor did he get injured, the pain was almost similar to those gunshot wounds!

BANG!

Once again, another loud bang deafened their ears. This time, however, it came from a different direction -- going straight to where the first three shots were fired; the shots that Carter fired recklessly and randomly.

Fortunately, Ryan managed to dodge that single assault by springing away from the other entrance of the kitchen. 'Heh,' Owen snickered secretly, the side of his lips curled into a cunning grin. Without further ado, Owen suddenly jolted up from behind the kitchen counter and fired a series of shots.

The sound of the deafening noise from his rifle and the noise of glass and bullets penetrating everything around mixed in the air. It was as if Owen was mimicking Johnny Rambo as he fired until his magazine was empty.

'Damn Owen!' Ryan remained hidden behind the wall while Owen was showering the air with fake bullets. Still, his reckless move gave the two the chance to give his position as he had been shooting for a long time.

"Sh*t!" When he emptied his magazine, Owen ground his teeth and cursed.

Taking this chance, Ryan immediately revealed himself and shot in Owen's direction. Since he had envisioned the kitchen of what it looked like at the moment, he instantly knew where to shoot. However, even before he could, Carter shot directly at his shoulder.

This time, it wasn't a mere graze but it went straight in his shoulder. "Ah!" Although the bullet didn't penetrate his skin, it stung causing Ryan to squeal and hide back where he was hidden earlier.

Matthew, Zoey and the rest who were watching the events unfold, glued their eyes on Carter's profile. Right now, Carter didn't hesitate to enter the kitchen, shooting Ryan's position and hearing the bullets hitting the wall that was protecting the latter.

Meanwhile, Owen didn't fire but just hid behind the kitchen counter. "Hehe…" He chuckled in a low tune, reloading his assault rifle leisurely.

"F*ck!" In distress, hearing that his assaulter was approaching closer, Ryan took out his pistol and snuck it out. He then randomly shot at the person's feet, causing Carter's steps to halt upon being shot in his leg.

Carter gritted his teeth, yet, he continued to shoot in Ryan's direction. However, this time, Carter took a step back, sliding over the table as the latter fired continuously. When Ryan sensed that the person shooting him got more vigilant, he sprinted away causing his featherlight steps to sound as huge steps backing away.

If not for the visor that was blocking Carter's eyes, he would have shot down Ryan's retreating back. Alas, that wasn't the case. Therefore, Carter missed him and all his shots penetrated the walls.

"He ran away," Carter placed his gun down calmly, his other hand squeezed his leg that was still hurting.

"You should too." Just then, Owen stood up on the kitchen counter and shot straight at Carter's waist.

"Argh!" Carter, who was caught off-guard, fell to his knees. The pain was a direct blow, his hand held onto the edge of the table, trying to keep his balance. "You!" He barked, raising his muzzle to where the shot was fired from.

BANG!

However, Owen's next shot hit directly on the man's pistol, barely missing his hand as the pistol was tossed to the side. "It's fine, it's fine." Owen chuckled evilly, waving his hand as he trudged towards Carter's position.

Despite that there was no blood that was shed, Carter breathed heavily through his gritted teeth. He held onto his waist, putting pressure in it as if he was shot by a real bullet. This action was obviously out of habit in a real battlefield that was counted in this game to reduce his time from bleeding to death.

"It was nice working with you, my comrade." When Owen reached several steps away from Carter, he let go of his rifle that was clinging across his shoulder and took out a rifle.

The next second, Carter felt a cold metallic round material placed on his forehead. "Hehe," Although Owen's eyes were hidden, one could tell by the smirk on his lips that his countenance was wicked.

"Bang!"

Matthew knitted his brows as he watched Owen pull out a gun and placed it on Carter's head. His countenance revealed bafflement, trying to analyze what was going on as it seems there was an alliance that happened beforehand.

"Oh boy…" Zoey whispered, her eyes fixated on Owen before she clicked her tongue in disappointment. "I hate this part." She sighed, turning towards Matthew who was also staring back at her.

"There was no rule that an alliance is forbidden." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey explained even before Matthew could ask or speak. "Owen is smart and cunning. But…" Another sigh slipped past her lips as she returned her gaze back on the screen.

"...but, he's too kind." She added, seeing that Owen didn't fire and just left Carter in his spot before walking away to where Ryan dashed away.. "He will regret this," She muttered, shaking her head as she seemed to have a bad premonition about how this would end.
