Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 443 - Did I Express Myself Well?

"Do you like me too?" His question was akin to him pushing her pause button, freezing her as she stared at his pair of menacing russet eyes. "I hate the push and pull game, Miss Zhou. Embrace what you desire, because I don't plan on letting go of the things I want… including the people I want." Without batting an eyelid, his breath caressed her ears gently.

Zoey gulped a mouthful of saliva, pursing her lips into a thin line as she failed to avert her gaze away from him. It was as if she was being controlled, slowly drawing her in in his strikingly tantalizing yet dangerous eyes.

"I…" Her words trailed off as her lower lip trembled. "I… this is not how you should express your feelings." Instead of giving him a direct answer, the words that escaped her lips were something she didn't think about.

"I see…" Surprisingly enough, Matthew took her words calmly. He nodded his head in understanding, yet keeping her in his arms still.

"So, if you're…" The rest of her words went back in her throat as he suddenly leaned forward.

In a fraction of a second, Zoey's eyes widened upon the touch of his soft lips against hers. It was a brief yet deep peck on the lips, but Zoey's head instantly went blank.

"Did I express myself well?" As he retracted his lips two inches away from her, Matthew went closer to her side and whispered in her ear. "Or, do you want it deeper?" He inquired, playfulness laced his voice as he was pleased to steal a kiss from her.

Just then, a light knock from outside of the door reached their ears. Without further ado, the door creaked open ever so slowly. "Bro, I have something…" As the door opened up, Kenneth's voice followed.

However, the scene inside suspended his tracks and whatever his intention was for intruding. "Ah, I'm sorry! I can talk later!" Kenneth snapped, realizing he interrupted something he shouldn't have. Thus, he immediately apologized, turning his back against the two as he panicked to go out.

"No, stay." However, just before he could leave and close the door, Matthew's cold voice shot in his ears that made his shoulders stiffen. "I was just giving my woman a reward." Matthew didn't turn his head back, nor did he retract his gaze away from the aghast front of Zoey. He stressed the word 'my woman', as if he was reminding the person who was Zoey.

"We'll continue this later," Matthew whispered, kissing her lips once again. This time, it was on purpose despite Kenneth's presence, it was as if a gesture to show his sovereignty on her. A silent claim that Zoey was his... ONLY HIS.

With that being said and done, Matthew helped her to stand still. Zoey's mind was still in a haywire; the second kiss didn't help to clear her rumbling thoughts in her head.

When he was certain that Zoey was fine and just staring at him with blank eyes, the side of his lips curled into a smirk. "There, there, calm down now." He chuckled, patting her head lightly which magically snapped her back to reality,

"Aaah!" Zoey gasped, blinking her wide-open eyes in disbelief as her thought process began to function again. "Xi Matthew!" Her voice thundered across the room, but his reaction was a brief chuckle and a wink.

"I will compensate you later. Kenneth didn't mean to disturb us." To her surprise, Matthew's shamelessness just skyrocketed, sounding as if she was mad because he let Kenneth interrupt them.

'What?! The nerve!' Zoey sassed inwardly. 'You better make it a longer kiss!' Yet, her subconscious mind was more honest as she harrumphed inside her mind.

Without further ado, Matthew turned towards Kenneth. As soon as he turned his head, his playful expression vanished into thin air and his cold, intimidating front resurfaced. "What is it?" He asked, fixing his gaze at Kenneth, who didn't dare turn around upon the order to stay.

"Uh…" Kenneth cleared his throat. Slowly, he turned to face the man he came looking for. "It's about…" He paused, darting his gaze from Matthew to Zoey's shocked countenance.

"You can say it. I don't think her mind is working at the moment." Matthew permitted, glancing at Zoey as he teased her, which made her turn to face him.

Upon hearing his last remarks, a look of dismay filled her eyes. "Hah!" But she was only successful in letting out a scoff.

"It's about the auction that's set to occur in a month." After a moment of pondering, Kenneth cleared his throat once again and fixed his gaze on Matthew. He shouldn't get distracted by Zoey's presence. "You can't participate." Without a second hesitation, he relayed the message.

Despite the bad news, Matthew was unfazed. He stared at Kenneth in silence, waiting for a proper explanation that would justify why he couldn't participate. "Our intel said that the auction will include people. You can talk to General Bai about the details, but he said he couldn't allow you to participate because it will get ambushed." His tone in his last statement was laced with hesitation, as if he had to muster all his courage to relay such news, which only he could do; that's why he was the one in here, not his kin.

"Auction?" Zoey knitted her brows. "People?" She muttered, darting her gaze from Matthew's side profile to Kenneth, who glanced at her briefly.

"I see…' Matthew nodded his head in understanding. However, the smirk on his lips that resurfaced sent a bad feeling to Zoey and Kenneth. "I won't participate then." He said, causing the two who were seeing him narrow their eyes in suspicion.

"Anyway, did you watch the game my girlfriend proposed?" Since the initial conversation was considered over, Matthew changed the topic. "Come, little miss. Let's congratulate the three." Without further ado, Matthew turned to Zoey. He lent his hand to her, gesturing her to take it upon the tilt of her head.

"It was her idea…?" Kenneth was surprised by the person who thought about the game he was watching earlier with others. He furrowed his brows as he shifted his gaze to her. He watched her hesitate to take his hand as she instinctively glanced at him.

However, Matthew immediately frowned with the brief gesture. "I'm right here." Cold and emotionless, he muttered that felt like a life-threatening situation.

"Geez… I know! I know!" The instant she noticed the temperature dropping due to her sneaky eyes, Zoey held on his hand and dragged him out of the room. "My stress level is spiking." She grumbled through her gritted teeth, in utter disbelief at how temperamental Matthew could be.

'For Pete's sake! I didn't mean to glance at your friend!' She hollered internally.
