As Matthew Xi laid down to the bed, a heavy sigh slipped from his lips. "Exclusive dating..." he murmured.

Now that he had a time to think about his decision for tonight, Matthew Xi was utterly disappointed with himself. How could he make a rash decision on a whim?

However, Zoey truly got him with that sleepover thing. How could Enzo Li ask a woman to stay in her place? How shameless!

Moreover, Zoey seemed she would agree if he didn't interrupt. Still, Matthew Xi shouldn't have said that. He only trapped himself with her until they used the three dates up.

"She's giving me a headache," Matthew Xi muttered as he massaged his temples.

A person who often had a full control of any situation he would be in found himself being controlled. Not just mentally, but also emotionally. He felt like dancing on her palm and Matthew Xi, despite knowing that fact, couldn't do anything.

Regardless, just like what he said, his choice was much interesting than his mother's choices.

"You're my honey bunch, sugar plum..." Just then, Matthew Xi heard his phone rang — producing Zoey's toneless singing: "the cuppy cake song" as the ringtone. Knitting his brows, he turned to look at the bedside table where he placed the pink phone.

"Hmm?" Since he received this phone from her, Matthew Xi only had two people in his contacts: Zoey and Paul Qian. Therefore, he only need to guess which of the two were bothering him this time of hour.

He sprawled his arm and reach for the phone. However, it was neither of the two on his contact list that was calling him.

It was an unregistered number, yet Matthew Xi already sighed heavily. Although the contact number on the screen was unregistered, he knew it was his mother's.

'How troublesome...' He thought internally before picking up the call.

As soon as the line connected, Matthew Xi mentally prepared himself from the series of questions. After all, his mother would surely probe about his relationship with the woman on his phone.

"Hmm?" Matthew Xi hummed a tune as a greeting.

"My son, I heard Mr. Qian booked you a room in Regal Hotel. How about the thing I asked you, my son?" Sounding magnanimous and understanding, Vivian Xi inquired. If Matthew Xi didn't know any better, he would fall for the seemingly calm tone of his mother.

But Matthew Xi knew that if he said one wrong suspicious word, she would go on an incessant 'ratatat'. Therefore, there was still an agreeable thing to consider for that rash decision.

"Mhmm,"

"We'll date." Not going around in a circle, Matthew Xi immediately gave the answer that Vivian Xi wanted to hear.

"Really?!?" Vivian Xi's eyes sparkled, her face brimmed with happiness upon hearing the news. Finally, her son proved he was straight — that he was just picky and not as the rumors said.

"Mhmm, please keep your hands off if you want our relationship to flourish." As usual, Matthew Xi bluntly bluffed and threatened.

Knowing his mother, Vivian Xi would surely dig deep and investigate about Zoey. Not that he was afraid that Vivian Xi would look through Zoey's track records. But Matthew Xi wanted his mother to be out of this matter.

"I know, I know. Just keep me updated, okay? Also, I should set up a date when I can meet..." Nodding her head in understanding, Vivian Xi seemed she didn't fully comprehend as she was now planning on meeting Zoey. However, her words trailed off when Matthew Xi spoke.

"Mom..."

"Alright, gosh! Just move quickly and give me a baby!"

"Hay..." His mother's advanced thinking rendered him speechless to the extent Matthew Xi could only sigh. "I'm hanging up. Goodnight." With that said note, Matthew Xi bid his farewell.

He still heard his mother says "wait—" but he already cut the line short.

Yet, before Matthew Xi could toss his phone to the side, his mother sent him a message. "Son, I'll transfer all my shares if the young lady gets pregnant!" Matthew Xi somehow could hear his mother's evil laugh by reading her message.

"Stop giving me ideas..." Under his breath, Matthew Xi whispered before tossing the phone to the side and covered his eyes by his arm.
