Minutes after Zoey fell asleep, Matthew heard a faint knock from outside the study. "Come in," Matthew wouldn't usually bother to give Paul permission as he would enter before he could.

After all, his assistant was a reasonable person. He wouldn't interrupt Matthew if it wasn't important. Yes, his meals are important too as Matthew would never skip his meals as his brain needed nutrition to function.

Upon hearing the faint permission, Paul opened the door slowly. When he entered the room, he bowed his head courtly. "Young Master, dinner is served." He announced sternly, acting more like a butler just like what Zoey had told him previously.

"Mhmm," Matthew just hummed. However, instead of getting up and giving orders, Matthew rested his jaw on the back of his hand; his other hand still brushing Zoey's hair, more like massaging her scalp lightly.

Matthew's action made Paul shift his gaze to the person on his lap. Upon seeing that Zoey was asleep, he figured the reason why his boss wasn't moving. "Should I send your dinner here?" Paul asked, returning his gaze back at Matthew.

"Shh…" Yet, he found him too loud that Matthew shushed him. "She didn't sleep for a long time, just tell everyone to rest for tonight." For the first time in his life, Matthew decided to skip his meal. Not because he didn't want to move, but because he wanted to eat with her.

After all, not having one meal wouldn't hurt -- at least, for him.

"But, Young Master…" Paul's words trailed off, seeing Matthew shake his head lightly.

"What if she wakes up in the middle of the night?' Out of nowhere, Matthew wondered. "I wouldn't be able to eat with her if I've had my fill.' Matthew explained, not bothering to glance at Paul who was staring at him.

"I understand." After several seconds of silence, Paul finally nodded his head as there was no point in trying to talk this out with his boss. "I'll still inform our chefs to keep the kitchen in check so they could make something for Miss Zhou and for Young Master in case she wakes up." Still, Paul had his own take in his master's 'worries'. Thus, he informed Matthew who didn't argue anymore.

Without further ado, Paul bid his farewell and left the room. Once again, the room fell into nothing but silence. Yet, this kind of silence wasn't the type of silence that seeped dread. Instead, it was the kind of silence which Matthew enjoyed.

It was peaceful and relaxing; an addicting kind of silence.

After a long time during which Matthew didn't notice how many minutes or hours had gone by, he finally decided to move her. By the looks of it, Zoey wouldn't wake up anytime soon. If she was sleeping in a better position and place, Matthew would let her.

However, she was all curled up as this was still a couch. Her movements were limited, and he would constantly stop her from dropping out of the couch.

Slowly, Matthew slid his arms on her nape, cautious enough not to wake her up. Fortunately, she didn't. Thus, he proceeded to move her a little up and his other hand hooked the back of her knee on his other arm.

Matthew then stood, carrying her in a bridal way. Fortunately, he was healthy and had a strong physique. Hence, carrying Zoey who was too light as if he was carrying a kid, he didn't need to exert too much effort.

Without further ado, Matthew trudged out of the room. "Open." He stopped in front of the door but couldn't open it for himself, so he spoke out loud.

As soon as that single word reached the person standing outside, he opened the door. The man seemed to guard the study. If anything goes wrong inside or outside, he could tell Matthew or call for help.

The man outside bowed his head while Matthew didn't bother with him. He continued in his tracks. While he did so, the person standing outside could not help but glance at the woman who Matthew was carrying. Yet, he didn't have the nerve to ask.

Just as Matthew reached the middle of the second floor, particularly near the stairs, going across the second floor, towards the master's bedroom, he stopped. There, Kenneth was pacing back and forth.

"You're still here?" Matthew asked, his tone was cold as usual.

Upon hearing the familiar ice cold voice, Kenneth turned his head in his direction. His gaze, however, immediately noticed Zoey who was sleeping soundlessly in his arms. She looked so harmless as if she was the purest human on Earth.

"Bro…" Kenneth snapped, raising his gaze to those pair of russet orbs staring back at him. "Are you," He hesitated a little, but collected his thoughts as he cleared his throat. "Are you sure you want to train her?" He asked, gesturing his hand towards Zoey.

"We know almost nothing about her." He affirmed, sighing as he was speaking out of pure concern. Although Kenneth saw Zoey as a friend, he wouldn't really be hurt if she ended up betraying him or harming him.

However, with Matthew involved with her, it was a different game to consider. Matthew's life was more important. Silly how they consider that someone's life has more value than others, but that was their reality.

Not just the XI Corporation, but also the Bai Family relied on Matthew all this time. If Zoey had ill-intentions that she was hiding then until she got the trust of everyone, it would be a huge problem.

Matthew remained silent, staring at Kenneth who was expressing genuine concern. "Does it matter?" After the blink of his eyes, Matthew asked.

"Yes," Without batting an eye, Kenneth answered almost instantly. "I know you fancy her, and she's really an interesting fellow. But, you can't just think she's the one." Kenneth expressed, exhaling deeply as he thought Matthew was just confused as he had never fancied a woman before.

Well, Kenneth could understand that as he thought he liked Zoey romantically. However, he wasn't as aggressive to assume it was love because he knew deep down it was not.

This time, Mathew didn't answer with words. Instead, he lifted her up and leaned his head down, kissing her lips for a second. "I don't think she's the one," He paused, raising his head to meet the surprised eyes that were staring back at him.

"I feel it."
