Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 455 - Ahh... Please Stop.

"Let's see what you have in your fridge…" As soon as they reached the kitchen, Zoey skipped towards the multi-door refrigerator. Without further ado, she opened it before her eyes skimmed it as she searched for something they could make quickly and easily.

"I can call someone to make us…"

"Shhh!" Before he could propose the obvious suggestion of waking up the chefs in the mansion, Zoey shushed him without glancing back. "It's already nighttime, and it's my fault for skipping dinner." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey expressed.

Be it in her previous life or the current timeline, Zoey was used to eating out or just making something for herself. She even went to culinary classes when she got married whenever she had free time to do so.

After all, Zoey grew up to be a strong, independent woman. Even having money didn't make her hire someone who would prepare her meals. Well, she hired a house cleaner that would come thrice a week to clean her house.

Nevertheless, Zoey was just not used to disturb people. Even if she would gain enormous wealth, that was one of the things she wouldn't change.

"Eggs will do it and these things…" One by one, Zoey picked a few eggs, some vegetables she could cook easily, and just some random small pieces of meat. "Hey, help me here, will you?" As her arm was slowly getting filled with ingredients, Zoey turned towards him who was standing beside the kitchen counter.

Reluctantly, Matthew dragged his feet towards her. "Give it to me," He said, his tone blank as he truly thought that what she wanted was a hassle. Regardless, he still held onto the ingredients she was passing on to him, and then he would deliver them to the kitchen counter.

"Is that all?" He asked, turning his head in her direction.

"Hmm…" Matthew saw her rub her chin lightly, her eyes still busy searching inside the refrigerator as if pondering if she should add more.

"Alright, that's all!" After a minute, she finally closed the fridge. She clasped her hand together while she faced him. "I was thinking if we should make something for Dredd too!" As she skipped her steps towards the kitchen counter, Zoey explained lightheartedly.

Upon hearing her last remarks, Matthew raised his right brow. "Dredd is full." He said, averting his gaze back to the ingredients.

When his words reached her ears, the side of her lips twitched. "Right…" She cautiously glanced at his side profile, sighing as she nearly forgot about what transpired moments ago.

"Anyway," Zoey cleared her throat, shaking her head as she shrugged at the scene she had witnessed a few minutes earlier. "Just stay there and I'll make us something!" She proposed, sounding excited to conceal her awkwardness upon his reminder.

For a moment, Matthew just stared at her in silence. He then nodded his head. Still, instead of taking a seat at the dining area, Matthew just leaned his side on the kitchen counter languidly.

"Err…" Seeing him, her lips pursed into a thin line. Yet, she didn't say anything as she scanned the room.

When she saw the apron hanging nearby, Zoey trudged towards it. She wore it, putting it on her neck, and then tied it behind her. Of course, Matthew just watched her do whatever she was doing and search each cabinet for utensils.

"What a wifey material." Just when Zoey placed all the utensils she had grabbed from the drawers, Matthew commented, which made her freeze.

"Hah! Of course!" Despite forcing herself to sound confident and boastful like she always does, there was a touch of awkwardness in her tone.

"I wonder what you'll make me." Matthew ignored her slight skepticism in her skills as he retracted his side from the kitchen counter. Without further ado, Matthew headed to the dining area, dragging one of the chairs towards the kitchen.

Zoey watched him but didn't say or ask anything. Instead, she started organizing everything and began cracking eggs in the transparent bowl. Meanwhile, Matthew placed the chair not far away from her, sitting on it with the backrest in front of him. His arms rested on top of the backrest, and then he placed his chin over it.

Matthew made sure to keep a bit of distance so he wouldn't disturb her that much. He was only there to watch; he would help if she asked him, though.

"Don't you need my help?" After minutes of watching her busy herself in the kitchen, Matthew inquired. By the looks of it, Zoey seemed like she needed a hand as she cooked everything at the same time.

From his position, Matthew couldn't fully see what was going on with her cooking and preparation. But, by the way she moved around the kitchen, it amused him. Zoey seemed like she knew what she was doing, and it bore him: he could only watch.

"Nay nay, I can do it." Zoey winked, confident in herself as she felt that she could really cook this time. Well, she cooked nothing after Matthew's death in her previous life. So Zoey was only recalling how to cook proper meals.

Still, she could affirm that she was doing it correctly. Well, she attended culinary school… at least once or twice because she only had that much free time between her work.

As Matthew watched the confident lady in the kitchen, he narrowed his eyes. 'Is she that confident with her cooking? She doesn't taste it?' He wondered, recalling that his mother still tasted her cooking to check if the taste was right.

Matthew, although never cooked in his entire life, still he knew the basics of cooking. What he had noticed was that Zoey just put everything together, even putting condiments, she didn't taste it. There were only two conclusions that appeared in his mind: One, Zoey was a great cook and she only needed her sense of smell. Second, she was just copying something she saw and didn't truly know what was going on.

Either way, Matthew hoped that his second conclusion was wrong. Just then, Matthew saw her add more white substance that was either salt or sugar to the eggs she was making.

'Ahh… please stop..' Matthew facepalmed, wanting her to stop putting more of that little white substance as she had added enough — or rather too much.
