Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 515 - I Remember Everything

After two hours of driving in the city, Matthew stopped in an apartment building far away from the lively city. Unlike the beauty of the city, the place gave off a rather gloomy atmosphere. It would be hard to believe this place was still inside the city.

Matthew left the car and raised his head to one of the apartment buildings. After staring at it for a minute, he tossed the car keys in the air and caught them midway. Matthew continued throwing and catching the keys as he made his way inside the building.

Since it was an old building with unreliable security, Matthew glanced at the guard that should be guarding its residence. However, he was sleeping. Hence, Matthew didn't bother to wake him up and headed inside.

He took the stairs without a pause and soon reached the top floor. Matthew continued to walk towards the end of the corridor while passing a few doors that he was certain no one was occupying it.

It was as if Matthew knew the place very well despite being here for the first time in this lifetime. When he reached the last door of the floor, Matthew stopped in front of it and placed the keys inside his suit pocket.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

He knocked on the door lightly. Yet, no one answered as if no one was inside the place.

"It's me." Matthew spoke and waited for the door to open up for him.

After a minute or two, the door creaked open. But it only opened a little — an inch gap for the person inside to see the person standing outside.

"Why are you sulking inside this filthy building? What a disgrace." Matthew's cold voice could freeze everything around it. Even the air grew cold with his aura mixing in the air.

"Hey, I'm not sulking." The man inside the apartment finally opened the door wider.

There, Inigo who appeared to have just woken up with his hair a mess and disheveled shirt all crumpled, sassed. He scratched his unruly hair as he narrowed his eyes from the light.

"How did you know my vacation place? I told you the chip is legit -- damn, I hate this lifetime."

"What happened?" Matthew ignored Inigo's nonsense as he stared at him instantly.

"Huh?" Taken aback by the vague question, Inigo furrowed his brows as he cocked his head a little to the side.

"I remember everything." Matthew uttered that made Inigo widen his eyes. "Everything that happened before this unnatural time-traveling happened. Now, tell me, what happened to Zoey after I died."

Matthew didn't pause as his words grew heavier. He didn't avert his eyes away from Inigo, whose expression changed into a solemn one..

"Come inside," Inigo pushed the door open before he turned his back against him. Matthew stared at Inigo's back for a second before he entered the obscure apartment unit.

"You never changed." When Matthew stepped his foot inside the place, he reached his hand towards the wall and turned on the switch.

Immediately, the light enveloped the room that revealed the mess around. There were beer cans, snacks, and even tons of papers scattered around the place. One would assume a drunkard was occupying the place because of the mess.

It wasn't wrong, though. Inigo would drink and drink during his vacation as it was his way to make himself fall asleep. It was also his way to make his mind work properly which was quite ironic in Matthew's perspective.

Matthew moved his eyes from the filth lying around the floor to the three monitors on the desk. Unlike the trash scattered everywhere, that particular desk was kept clean and organized. There wasn't a speck of dust that could be seen on it.

"Researching?" Matthew queried as he walked towards the desk. His eyes glanced at the date on the monitor and then shifted his eyes on the small frame on the side. It was a photo of a beautiful woman with her hand reaching for the person who took the photo.

"Hey, that's off limits." Inigo muttered as he came back with two cans of beer he got from the small fridge.

"I'm not touching it." Matthew answered without looking back.

Inigo looked at Matthew who was staring at the photo of the woman.

"Here," He said, tossing the can of beer which Matthew caught due to his fast reflexes. "I wish I could return to the time when she's still alive."

Inigo opened the can of beer and drank a mouthful of it. As he swallowed the acidic liquid, he winced before he plopped on the old couch.

"Well, I can't be picky since this story is not about me." Inigo shrugged his shoulders as he spread his arms on the couch's headrest. "Anyway, stop the talks about me no matter how interested you are. What do you mean 'you remember everything'?"

"I didn't talk about you." Matthew rebutted without batting an eye. "And I'm not interested."

Inigo chuckled at the stiff and honest response he got. "Whatever, brother. Just when I left you a heartfelt farewell, you came knocking on my vacation place and telling me absurd things."

"You asked me what happened to your wife? Well, she made a hole in her head right in front of me." Inigo added in an indifferent tone. "She's truly foolish. I was just teasing her -- I guess the more she ages, the more she can't take a joke."

Matthew's eyes instantly darkened as he strode forward and grabbed Inigo by the collar. Inigo raised both his hands despite the growing tension in the latter's mood.

"Why didn't you tell her?!" Matthew's voice thundered across the room. Yet, Inigo was unfazed. "You could have…"

Just as Matthew was about to add his enraged sentiments, Inigo chuckled before a smirk resurfaced on his lips.. "Why? Do you think she will be happy if I told her what happened? Do you think she wouldn't think of killing herself once she knew about the truth? You should thank me she died and we all returned in this f*cking lifetime."
