"Please don't kill me." Enzo muttered, his chest moved in a slow in and out motion.

The fact that the cold surface of the gun was pressed against his forehead terrified him. One wrong move, and it'll be set off and he'd be dead before he knew it.

"Wow… you guys are persistent." Zoey uttered under her breath, clicking her tongue as she moved her gaze around.

When her gaze met Matthew's eyes, Zoey nodded as she figured the question flickering across his eyes.

"Yes."

Zoey nodded, knowing Matthew was thinking if this was Nikolai's doing. Surely, that guy had lost it.

"We're not here looking for trouble." When several men entered, the person holding the gun on Enzo's forehead spoke.

"Don't say that while holding a gun to my friend's head. It's hypocrisy." Zoey hissed, shaking her head while keeping her composure together.

She didn't want to lose it. After gazing around, Zion was still there and Kenneth too. Although Zoey didn't need to worry about Matthew, she couldn't move with these three drunkards and Enzo around.

"You're just as feisty as what they had said." The man sneered, shrugging his shoulders before withdrawing the gun from Enzo.

As soon as Enzo was free from the gunpoint, he heaved a sigh of relief. However, his knees and muscles felt stiff and he couldn't move back.

Zoey glanced at him and let out a sigh. 'He is still that innocent guy.' Zoey thought internally, relieved that Enzo was still the Enzo whom she had befriended in the past.

"If you want me to come, I'll go. No need to harm anyone, alright?" Just as Zoey uttered her great sacrifice, her spine shivered upon sensing Matthew's gaze.

"You're not going anywhere." Matthew remarked coldly.

After glancing at Zoey's side profile, Matthew faced the men. Without any changes in his countenance, he said,

"I'm rich. You can take me as a hostage -- I'm willing to come with you. You can ask her any amount as ransom in return."

In a matter-of-fact tone, Matthew offered in one go. Amid his suggestions, his thumb pointed at Zoey which made her brows twitch.

"Hah! How touching. But, we don't need you. We only need Miss Zhou. She is being invited by my boss." The man chuckled, ridiculing Zoey and Matthew's touching sacrifices.

"We don't want to cause problems and hurt anyone in here. That's why, you two don't need to buy time. My boss just wants to talk to you, Miss Zhou."

The man added. As the man spoke, Zoey furrowed her brows. She didn't notice it earlier, but these men were acting differently to Nikolai's men.

At first, Zoey thought they were recruited when she cut off ties with Nikolai. However, whether old or new soldiers in the Silva Family, they weren't as decent as these men.

If Zoey put herself in Nikolai's shoes, he would surely just burn this place down and leave. That's Nikolai's style. He didn't like to talk too much nor did he have the patience to engage in a conversation unless he needed to.

With that in mind, Zoey arched her right brow as her lips parted.

"Cupcake?"

Zoey narrowed her eyes, watching as the man sported a confused expression. As soon as Zoey saw his reaction, it proved that these weren't working for Nikolai.

They were working for a different person. The question now was: who could it be?

Confused as well, Matthew cast Zoey an eye full of questions. Zoey just shook her head and he understood she was wrong when she said they were working under Nikolai.

"Miss Zhou, we --"

"I'm coming!" Before the man could finish his sentence, Zoey raised her hands up and took a step forward.

"Let's go. Chop chop!"

Zoey added, urging them to move faster. Some of them found her actions as suspicious. She's the only person who was acting excited while she was being 'abducted'.

"Zhou Zoey." Just as Zoey hopped forward, she halted upon hearing Matthew's cold and threatening tone.

Sporting a forced smile, Zoey turned around. "Darling, can you prepare for my ransom?"

"I'm not bailing you out if you go out on your own." Matthew was quick to argue, casting Zoey a cold, unmoving gaze before shifting them to the man.

"In two minutes, this building will be surrounded with police and military forces. Leave now and I'll pretend this didn't happen."

Matthew warned. His tone was as blank and cold as usual. He didn't even bat an eye, no one except Zoey could guess whether he was bluffing or saying the truth.

"Hah! And what if I don't, Mister Richy Rich?" The man chuckled, ridiculing Matthew's unbelievable threat.

"Jack." Matthew replied.

Zoey knitted her brows as she glanced at Matthew's unmoving side profile. Instinctively, Zoey moved her eyes to the man and saw his expression changed.

'A code word?' Zoey wondered, guessing Matthew already figured the mastermind of this.

Just like how Zoey tested this man if he knew their popular code, Matthew had done the same. Unlike Zoey, Matthew had succeeded in figuring who was the man behind these men.

"Huh," After a beat, Matthew smirked as if he won in a gamble through a bluff. "Tell Jack I'm summoning him. You may leave now."

After Matthew ordered, he turned around nonchalantly. His action told Zoey that the threat was now gone despite the men being still present there.

"How did you know…" Under the man's breath, he trailed and stared intently at Matthew's back.

"Who are you?"

The man added. Since there were only a few people who knew the meaning of those codenames, the man had to take caution as Matthew could be someone they didn't want to offend.

"You're in no position to know who I am." Matthew replied, crossing his arms as his gaze darted from Kenneth, Zion, then to Katherine.

"But in a situation like this, tell Jack that the King summons him."

Without looking back, Matthew added. Upon hearing Matthew's last remarks, the man's lips grew paler as his eyes widened.

"Bo -- Boss!" The man exclaimed and immediately bowed.
