Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 724 - Have Some Tea

Most pregnancy news was all good news. But not for Zoey. It was neither good nor bad for her.

It was a mix of both.

She had experienced it once, but it was cut short. Even though they had agreed to live in the present, this was something she couldn't magically forget.

Zoey's guilt had already eaten her. The second she had to relive this lifetime, Zoey had to forget about her unborn child.

All the events that came afterward helped her get that thought out of her mind. But honestly, it had always been in the back of her head; locked away such that it could break free if an opportunity appeared.

This was the opportunity; the inevitable moment where she had to face that guilt.

Zoey gritted her teeth, holding her hand in her lap. Currently, she was in the backseat with Matthew.

It had been two months since she came to know about her pregnancy. She was already two months pregnant at that time. Now, two months later, Zoey was already in her second trimester.

She could no longer hide it.

Still, for someone to be four months pregnant, only a selected few knew about it: Paul, Owen, and Carter. Zoey had been wearing loose clothes to hide her tummy.

But now, they decided to see Zion. They had to tell people one by one about her pregnancy.

Suddenly, Matthew reached for her hand. His thumb caressed her fist lovingly. Zoey gazed up, biting her inner lower lip.

Matthew had been very understanding about her condition. Hormones even heightened her worries. Therefore, tears easily escaped her eyes. Aside from crazy mood swings.

"I'm scared..." She muttered under her breath.

"I know." Matthew sported a faint smile, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I understand."

It had been tough for them because even Matthew had underlying worries. Not that they didn't love the child growing inside her. What he was afraid of was losing the two of them.

That's why Matthew and Zoey had been inseparable. Even though Matthew had been doing all the work in Z Image Group, Zoey would still tag along.

"It'll be fine." He reassured, staring at her straight in the eye.

"It should be." Zoey replied in a whisper, nodding as she clasped his hand.

What worried her was that once she told Zion about it, he'd realize she wasn't as excited as them. That's why she hadn't told them until now. Zion would surely be happy — especially Vivian.

But they would surely notice her reaction. And if they did, they would ask her about it. Zoey's hormones had made her the worst to deal with. She might lash out at them.

Still, Matthew and Zoey had talked about it. And they both agreed to tell them.

Soon Zoey and Matthew reached Zion's clinic. It wasn't huge, but it was slowly getting recognition.

"Careful." Matthew escorted her in, treading carefully, as he watched her steps.

"I won't trip over in these flats." Zoey muttered.

"There's no harm in being careful." Matthew argued back as they entered the clinic.

Once they were inside the premises, Matthew assisted her to sit. "I will come back and check on Zion first."

"Mhmm. I'll wait here." Zoey nodded and smiled subtly.

Matthew didn't leave immediately. He stared at her, reaching for her cheek as he brushed his knuckles against it lightly.

"I'll be back." He said before he left.

Zoey watched Matthew's back. She had been here, so she knew Zion was probably busy right now.

She glanced around. There were a few patients in the lobby.

'He is doing better than I thought.' Zoey thought internally, heaving a sigh of relief.

Zion had been very content with his life. After breaking his ties with the Kwan, he used his own money to establish this clinic. Now, it is doing better and has expanded.

'It isn't far-fetched when this becomes a hospital.' She smiled at the thought, feeling proud of her brother.

While Zoey patiently waited for Matthew, the smile on her face froze.

"Zoey?"

The person who called her out was none other than Sarah Zheng: Zoey's biological mother. Slowly, Zoey turned her eyes in her direction.

As soon as their eyes met, Sarah's eyes softened as her brows creased. Sarah pursed her lips, not knowing whether to smile or frown.

It had been two years. Zoey and Zion promised to try and forgive their parents. However, Zoey never reached out to them.

Zoey's reply was only a slight bow. Unconsciously, she held her tummy in a protective stance.

"Zoey." Sarah took a step forward. However, she halted instantly.

Sarah nearly forgot what happened because she longed for her daughter all this time. But seeing Zoey, Sarah recalled that she had no right to approach her daughter. This longing in Sarah's heart was nothing compared to the pain Zoey had gone through because of them.

"I see you're here to see your brother." Sarah sported a smile as she took her foot back. "I'm glad to see you again, Miss Zhou. I hope you're doing well."

Sarah clutched her wrist tightly, stopping herself from reaching out to her daughter. "You should eat more fruits and have a stress-free environment. It's the best for you… and for your child."

"How did you know?" Taken aback, Zoey raised her head and furrowed her brows. It was as if she was furious.

"How you held your tummy. I remember doing the same." Sarah glanced at Zoey's arms that were protecting her stomach. "Congratulations. I'm happy for you, really. I'll see your brother next time."

Sarah expressed, and offered a subtle smile. Without idling, she turned around and trudged away. As she did, Sarah bit her lower lip tightly.

As Sarah walked away without spouting more words, Zoey let out a sigh. She stood up, not too abruptly because of the child inside her.

"Wait!"

Just as Zoey uttered those words, Sarah froze. The latter felt a sudden pang in her heart as her breath hitched. Slowly, Sarah turned around and faced Zoey.

Zoey pursed her lips and took a deep breath. "There's a cafe nearby. Do you want to have some tea?"
