"Are you okay?" Seeing him cough his lung out, Zoey hurriedly passed him a bottle of water. Her eyes scanned him in worry. Did her cooking rusted to the extent it become a natural poison? That's impossible, right?

"Ye — yes." Chugging down a mouthful of water, Matthew Xi felt relieved when his airways got cleared.

"It's that bad?" Referring to the food she cooked, Zoey glanced at the dish bearing a complicated gaze. Although for her it tasted weird, it was just weird — still edible.

Who would have thought that Matthew Xi had sensitive taste buds? Raising her gaze, Matthew Xi's face and ears turned red. Beads of sweat drenched his forehead.

Just looking at him, Zoey felt remorseful. In her eyes, he seemed like a dashing little boy acting as a grownup. Her heart went like 'awww~' just staring at him.

"No," Consuming half of the water, Matthew Xi shook his head. "It taste weird, though." He commented honestly.

Matthew Xi had been eating food prepared by first class chefs all his life. Therefore, this foreign taste that one could assume was made from Mars somehow affected his throat. That's one thing.

On the other hand, the main reason was because of her last remarks. Closed a deal with the Sun's? About, what? What kind of deal? Does it have connections with his collaboration with the Sun's?

"Let's just order something else. My poor baby, I'm sorry." Feeling awfully sorry for him, Zoey proposed as she sprawled her arm and reach out for his plate.

Seeing her pulling his meal away from him, Matthew Xi clipped his finger on the edge of the plate, opposite of the side she was holding. "It taste weird, but not bad." Raising his gaze, he affirmed.

"You don't need to consider my feelings. It's bad, I know." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey replied. It wouldn't hurt her feelings if they ordered something else. After all, her poor Matthew Xi would suffer if not.

"I like this one." Pulling the plate gently to him, Matthew Xi uttered. It may taste weird, weirder than the "alien's food", but it was Zoey's cooking. Maybe, he thought, he just wasn't used to eating other normal foods.

"Oh..." Zoey stared at him, her eyes twinkled at his heroic act. She could not help but assume that he didn't want to hurt her feelings. Although she didn't accurately got the point, it didn't matter.

"What were you saying?" Clearing his throat, Matthew Xi picked up his fork and glanced over at Zoey.

"Ahh... hehehe" recalling what she said earlier, Zoey giggled. Being reminded of how the things turned out earlier, it brought her bliss. "Did I mention the reason the Sun want the settlement? It's because he is securing an important deal. Even a normal person would understand that people avoid unnecessary inconveniences when expecting something important." Zoey explained, not intriguing Matthew Xi even a bit because he already knew that much.

"I see," He uninterestedly answered, still preparing himself for another bite of this spicy and salty with a bit of sourness meat.

"In other words, he was avoiding me — the unnecessary troublemaker. Haha!" Sounding proud of that title, Zoey giggled. "Whether they like my conditions, they didn't have a choice. So, I asked them that instead of compensation money, I want the job for the establishment's signs." Summarizing everything in one go, Zoey explained, watching his reaction but to no avail.

Matthew Xi just shoved a small piece of meat inside his mouth and chewed it without emotion. Lifting his gaze, Matthew Xi furrowed his brows at Zoey's expectant eyes.

"Hmm?"

"Hehe, nothing." Shaking her head, Zoey diverted his focus by her next gleeful statement. "Anyway, I got the deal, and the estimated price for the entire project is millions and millions. I only need to put a ring on your finger because I can now afford our grand wedding!" She grinned, stretching her lips from ear to ear.

"Say, my baby, will you marry me?" Not getting any response from him, Zoey placed her arms on the edge of the table, leaning her head forward with a smile.

"No." Without batting an eye, Matthew Xi rejected her sudden proposal. Does she think he's that easy? Proposing without a ring? As if he would agree to being tied down with her that soon.

"Ouch!" Clasping her hand on her chest, Zoey peered at him as if he truly broke her heart to bits. "Well, practice makes perfect. I'd do better next time until your heart goes pitter patter." Despite her acting, she didn't inflict any emotion from him. Hence, Zoey sighed and murmured.

"Why are you rushing things? Aren't you afraid that I am not the person you think I am?" Although the food tasted weird, it got a bit better the more he ate. Hence, Matthew Xi could bear with it.

"Ha? Why? Did I have a misconception of my baby sugar baby?" Zoey asked, tilting her head to the side.

"What if you did?" Arching his brows, Matthew Xi slowly placed down the fork and locked his eyes on her innocent countenance.

"Well..." Zoey pondered, contemplating about something. As she contemplated the answer for his question, he caught her attention as Matthew Xi slowly rose from his seat.

She watched him walked around the table, approaching her. His every step radiated elegance, gracing her eyes with brilliance.

"If I am an evil person... won't you regret inviting a wolf inside your home? Feed him? And then get killed by your ignorance?" Slowly, Matthew Xi placed his palm on the edge of the table, leaning down on her.

His pair of russet eyes glinted, as if for a second they turned completely red. Like a vampire ready to devour his prey. Zoey would be scared out of her wits if he looked weird, but he wasn't!

It just added more allure to his already majestic front. This world was truly unfair! How could he look seductive despite the danger emanating within him?

"Does the wolf knew what kind of house he entered? How is he certain that little red riding hood is that ignorant as she seemed?" Despite the distraction of this sexy wolf clad in human skin, Zoey answered.

The corner of her lips curled into a smirk, raising her finger, and then slowly shoved a piece of brownie inside his mouth. "Does the wolf knew what I put in his food? Maybe the wolf was purposely lured in this house? Has he considered that, Browny?"

Her answer, confidence, and the surrounding vibe rendered him speechless. Intimidation would truly never faze her. If anything, she would counter it double with her words and her actions.

Again, he lost.
