Will There Be A Happy Ending?

After ensuring that Brandon was in good hand, Anston and Hidayat walked towards their aunt's office. That week their aunt is on night duty.

Aunt Ying Tai and Anston's mom were best friends since medical school. They became closer when aunt Jing Yue dated uncle Chuan Li and their marriage became a bond that makes their friendship permanent.

"Gūgu… do you have anything to eat? We're starving…" Anston w.h.i.n.ed when he opened the office's door. Not even saying hey or asking how she was… Aunt Ying Tai shook her head, smiling…

"How are my boys? I haven't seen both of you for so long…"

"Hi, gūgu… I missed you too…" Hidayat responded while moving closer with open arms wanting to hug her. Anston gave her a grin and gave her a hug too.

"We're starving... But other than that, we're good" Aunt Ying Tai laughed at Anston's reply. She then called the kitchen to ask for 2 meals to be brought over to her office. Luckily the kitchen is open 24/7, if not, the 2 'kids' will have to eat cup noodles 😝

Anston and Hidayat stayed over for about an hour before going home. They wanted to stay over and wait for Brandon's operation to end but aunt Ying Tai assured them that she will update them of his condition once it is over. Since it had been a long day and both felt tired, they decided to comply.

"Hiddy, what time did they say you can be discharged?"

"Around 11, mom and dad will come later after breakfast."

"Do you need me to come?"

"Neh, it's okay… I'll see you at home later in the evening"

"Okay… if you need or want anything, just let me know."

"Sure… bye…"

"Bye…" Hidayah ended the call and continued with her breakfast. That morning, she had a bowl of Mee Soto for breakfast and a glass of orange juice. She always had a hard time finishing her hospital food as she does not like the 'healthy' taste of the food.

But knowing that she could go home today made her day better. She had already packed all her stuff in the wee morning straight away after waking up for her morning prayers.

At around 9.30 in the morning, the doctors came to do the morning rounds and given her a clean bill of health. Though, she still has to come back for physiotherapy to ensure that her muscles in the c.h.e.s.t area are strengthening properly after the surgery.

Her parents arrived around an hour later with a grande cup of caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks, her favourite. She always gets a cup of caramel hot chocolate in the morning before going to work. The best part is, the outlet near the office building has a drive-thru! Hence, it made it easier for working a.d.u.l.ts in the area to purchase their drinks during peak hours.

"Your Roadster has been repaired and has been sent back to the mansion yesterday. But, I want you to use the family car instead. I have also arranged for a driver to start tomorrow." Kamari commented while waiting for the discharge letter to be completed.

"Why? I can still drive, you know…" Hidayah responded.

"Nope. I do not want to see you drive for at least 6 months and that is final." Hidayah looked at her mother giving her a 'help me' face but her mother just smiled and agreed with her husband. Hearing her mother's support to her father's decision, made her sulk. For God sake! I'm not a drunkard or a teenager…
