Will There Be A Happy Ending?

Chapter 43 - Back to the present time

Back to the present time; Dragon Mansion

An elderly man was sitting quietly beside his wife, smiling wide as he looked around the room. A room full of his beloved children and grandchildren. He was truly blessed to have a harmonious family and every one of them had done him proud.

Except for 2 stubborn women.

First being his second daughter; Esther. She may be a successful woman with a good respectful career but till today, she remains single. She had married to her work and seems to refuse any man into her life.

Second, his youngest granddaughter; Hidayah. Since young, she had done the family proud. Even though he knows that she did not want to be the heir to the 'throne', she still adheres to her responsibility. He also knew that she had gotten married last year due to unexpected circ.u.mstances but what surprises him more was that the man she married, till today, had not annulled their marriage. In fact, it seems, she herself has forgotten about the marriage and doesn't seem to be looking for another man to stay by her side.

Today, he and his son had agreed to one understanding. Hidayah's husband must be introduced to the family.

While he was lost in his thought, a voice whispered to his left ear. "Master, your guest has arrived." Loh Liwei nodded his head and instructed the man to be brought in after he addressed the family.

He cleared his throat loudly and addressed the family in a serious face, "My dear family, I have someone I wished to introduce you to. Ling-er, come to my side." He looked at his granddaughter with indifferent eyes.

Hidayah slowly stood up from her seat and quickly walked towards her grandfather. Once she stood beside her grandfather, he took in her hands and warmly hold them gently. "Ling-er, I know you always think about the family and never moved for your own benefit these past years. But there is something that you have done you failed to inform me. If it wasn't brought to my attention a year ago by the man himself, I would still be in the dark!" he ended his words sternly. "Your father and I have decided to bring him home and we want you two to work it out, do you understand?" he continued.

Hidayah looked at her grandfather in confusion. "Yéye, what do you mean?" she asked the elderly man. The man then looked at his assistant and nodded his head. Loh Liwei's assistant disappeared out the door and quickly returned with a young man behind him. He then ushered the man towards the sitting area and left him among the family members.

Everyone looked at the young man in confusion, except for Kamari, Hidayat, Liwei and Hidayah. The 3 men looked at the guest with acknowledgement while Hidayah looked at him in a daze… "You…"

To be honest, Hidayah had forgotten about the man. In fact, she had forced herself to forget this man standing in front of her. Because remembering him means she will have to acknowledge that ill-fated night.

She already knew that he was purely a passerby that saved her that night. She was sincerely thankful for his help but she also knew that they were not meant for each other.

"This is Nazreen, Mei Ling's husband." Loh Liwei introduced the man to the family. Total silence fell in the room.
