Will There Be A Happy Ending?

Chapter 61 - I need to know if you're good enough 4

"As you have already known, Hidayah will be the next head of the clan. The man who is to be standing behind her must be of quality. Hence, I need to know if you're good enough for my granddaughter." Loh Liwei said while looking straight at the young man standing in front of him.

"You will be undergoing training to be the best support for Hidayah. For now, I want to see you fight," Loh Liwei continued before looking at his grandson and said, "tell Leraje to meet us at the ring."

"Yes, sir." Anston bowed before leaving the room.

After Anston left the room, Loh Liwei instructed Nazreen to sit beside Kamari. "How's your effort on making her fall in love with you?" he asked the young man.

"Alhamdulillah, we're becoming closer every day. Though, I wish she could realise her feelings faster." Nazreen said while wreathed in smiles. Kamari and Loh Liwei guffawed at Nazreen's demeanour.

Kamari was glad that his daughter and his son-in-law were getting closer. It does not matter how they met and what happened to cause such union, he felt blessed to have a man who loves his daughter wholeheartedly.

"Nazreen, don't worry about your sleeping arrangement later. I have instructed the staffs to arrange the rooms so that you two will stay together. I have also arranged for Andrea, Rebecca and Jian Yu to join the group to occupy the other rooms. That way, she will not have a chance to move you." Kamari assured the young man.

While the men were discussing other matters and also the elderly's intention to introduce Nazreen to his men, the phone on the desk rang.

"Satan, we are ready." the man on the phone reported.

"Mm… We will meet you there." Loh Liwei then put down the receiver and nodded at the men and stood up from his seat. The men strode out of the room and swiftly walk towards the arena with Kamari in the lead.

After walking for about five minutes, they stopped in front of a metallic double-leaf door. Kamari pressed on the button by the door frame and the door slide open showing a spacious elevator.

After entering the lift, Nazreen looked at the maximum passenger's notice. 30 pax/2700kg.

No wonder the elevator was so big! Kamari pressed on the 'U11' button and the elevator started whirling before he could feel the gravity force decreasing abruptly. The speed of the elevator was so fast that it did not even take more than two minutes before the elevator halted.

"Dad, how long has the lair been built? The facilities here are pretty advanced," Nazreen asked his father-in-law. He was really impressed by the design of the lair. It has both modern and archaic semblance. Somehow, the admixture of both design was well-balanced off.

"Hmm, it was originally built back in 1928, right dad?" Kamari asked Loh Liwei's affirmation.

"Yes. That's right. We have been upgrading the lair ever since." Loh Liwei responded.

"And we last upgraded the place three years ago. Luckily, the area is cordoned off. Hence, it was much easier for us to do our work without anyone's knowledge." Kamari added.

When they reached level U11, the door slide out opening the elevator to a lit short hallway. There was only one door and Kamari opened the door for the rest to enter. Strangely, there was no need for an access card or code to open the door. It was not even locked. Curious, Nazreen stepped into the room with his eyes glancing around him, taking in the view of the room.

The room was hexagon in shape about three-storey high. Each side was decked with retractable seatings which were left open. In the middle of the room, a round-caged-platform was erected.

Nazreen saw Anston standing by the platform with three other men behind him. When Anston noticed their presence in the room, he and the men stood in attention and greeted both Loh Liwei and Kamari in their codenames.

After Loh Liwei acknowledged their greeting, the men changed their position to ease. Anston smiled at the guest and walked towards him. Nazreen looked at the other three men in the room. One of them was so big, he looked like Goliath! Standing at six foot four, rounded bald head with thick black eyebrows and a somewhat thick line of scar lining across his left cheek that starts from above his cheekbone and ends slightly before his chin. His broad and tall physique added with his indifferent look gives an intimidating air around him. His stretched out grey t-shirt, showing his barrel-c.h.e.s.t paired with black tactical pants and high-cut leather boots reminds Nazreen of a humanised version of the Hulk, a Marvel comic character; many others would also envisage when seeing him.

"Nazreen, meet Leraje. My Captain." Loh Liwei introduced the man to his grandson-in-law. Both men nodded to each other. "Three rounds of ten minutes each. That should be long enough for me to judge. You are free to use any style and no weapons are allowed." Kamari added.

One of the other men stepped forward to open the cage's door and Leraje went in without delay.

Since Nazreen was wearing a white satin effect cotton stretch long-sleeved shirt and not wanting to dirty his shirt, he unbuttoned the shirt and fold it before passing it to Anston for safe-keeping. Luckily, Nazreen has a habit of wearing a singlet under his bullet-proof vest. He unzipped his vest and again passed it to Anston while smiling meekly.

Anston knew that Leraje's strength was on par with the Grim Reapers. He was hoping that Leraje will go easy on his cousin-in-law but at the same time, he was anticipating to see Nazreen's fighting skills. He was disappointed that he didn't have the chance to test Nazreen himself.

Nazreen stood firmly, taking a few deep breaths before stepping into the caged arena. Nazreen and Leraje bowed slightly to each other before taking their own stance.
