Be kind and hear my plea

Listen to my heart and look and see

Be so kind to me and mine

With all my heart it will all be fine

Friend spell

The night passed without interruption. As it was Alv's turn on guard he was the first awake. With a few shaky steps he moved to wake up Pyrrha, with a couple of shakes she awoke with a start.

"Wha-" she began but stopped when everything began to sink in again.

"Hey sleepyhead, come on. We gotta move," he spoke softly, his eyes keeping a watch of their surroundings. She got up nodding, as she reached for where her weapons would be she remembered that they would not be there.

"Were unarmed," she mutters as he nods towards her.

"Yeah, and my internal magic is still as minuscule as ever. Without an arcane focus, for me or weapons for you, we have to rely on your semblance," he speaks plainly.

"Y-you know about that?" she asks surprised.

"Yeah, I know your story remember? Come on, we have to find a town soon or were screwed. And even then we are gonna need some gold." he sighs.

"We are in quite the predicament, but we will make it through this!" she smiles positively.

He simply nodded as they began to put out the embers of the dying fire.

"Where are we heading anyway?" she asked as she looked about.

"Well if I remember my world-building correctly then we should be able to head east, if we're in the Asuran Autumn Forrest then the eastern town of Xiejan should be the closest town," he spoke with some uncertainty.

"Asura was the continent I focused on least while building, so it's not as clear as it should be to me, I'm sorry." he continued with a short bow of apology.

"No, it's nothing. It's just surprising that you remember this much" she said softly.

"Ahahaha, Yeah. I was a bit of a dork with more than a healthy amount of free time," he said sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head.

He looked to her and saw her melancholy as she looked upon the autumn leaves. And he realized that she had left all she had ever known without a goodbye. Without the chance to see off her friends. Maybe...maybe there was something he could do.

'Hmmm, this world's magic is based primarily off of DND… would..would a message spell do I wonder.' he thought to himself. This world was largely based on dungeons and dragons of his world in terms of magic and spells. Maybe there would be a way to integrate the message spell with a scrying spell via an orb or mirror as a focus so you could see who you were speaking to. It would be food for thought.

"Hey Pyrha-" he began only to be interrupted by what seemed to be a loud angry hiss/warble against what could only be the roar of something monstrous.

"Shit. investigate or run?" he asked her.

"Running would be a good option as we have no weapons" she replied as calmly as she could.

"Right let's ge-" but before he could finish there was the sound of crashing as the beasts fighting burst through the treeline.

"Shit! Run!" he yelled as he pointed away from the beasts. Sadly fate had other plans.

With a rushing roar, a wyvern like beast slammed through the tree line around its neck a creature that looked like a cross between a koi fish, a cobra, and a crocodile. The beast roared as it attempted to free itself of the creature suffocating it. Biting deep into its flesh the beast struggled hard in what would ultimately be a futile measure and the wyvern fell limp to the ground.

Looking Pyrrha in the eyes Alv attempted to get her attention shaking his head slightly away from the monstrous form of the fallen wyvern. As he was about to rush her away from the beast he noticed the large koibra-gaitor (search koibra online) his as it futilely tried to free itself from the death grip of the wyvern's teeth. Alv seeing this thought back to what this beast was. It was something he had discovered online once. A fortune beast, something of a symbol of good luck. So against common sense, he raised his hands up high and infusing his intent with as much magic as he could he began to walk forward.

"Were not here to hurt you" he spoke his voice as calm as he could make it. The Koibra-gator turned towards him it's head swiveling as it moved its form without hurting itself further. It's large golden slitted eyes looking upon him.

"Great beast of fortune, bringer of good luck and kindness. I seek only to aid you, me and my friend!" he declares as steadily as he can.

"What are you doing?" She asks a little panicked, as she stood unarmed in front of a beast that would make any Grimm she had fought seem tame

"Koibra-gators are beast of fortune, territorial and aggressive but are often seen as beasts of good luck. They nest around large bodies of water, and if I'm remembering corectly is intelligent to a point. I'm trying to get us out of here without being covered in it's spitting poison." he mutters under his breath.

"A-are you sure that's wise?" she asks shakily.

"Trying to escape a Koibra-gator in any form without its express permission is asking for the corrosive poison to spill across your skin," he mutters in return.

The koibra-gator interrupts their conversation as it lowers it's head while keeping an eye on them.

"Alright, Pyrrha help me get the wyvern's jaw open," he mutters as they carefully approach the great beast.

She nods and they begin to try to pry the mouth of the beast open. After a moment it seems impossible until Alv gets an idea.

"Pyrrha your abilities involve magnetism and polarity yes?" he asks carefully.

"Assuming I still have my abilities yes," she responds.

"Alright worst comes to worst your aura might have been converted into magic. Try and take off your wrist bands and cup them on the teeth of the beast and see if you can force them apart."

He spoke carefully.

She eyed him as they were still in the presence of the titanic koibra-gator.

"Alright, I will trust your judgment here." 'as the person who wrote this world' went unsaid. And as she concentrated and pushed with great effort the two parts of the jaws began to open, as golden blood dripped from the Koibra-gator's wounds.

"Holy shit… that worked" he muttered softly. The koibra turned its head to the two as it's unhooked itself from the jaws of the wyvern. It eyed the two of them before burying its head in the c.h.e.s.t of the wyvern. The two took it as permission to leave. And so they did they backed away slowly. Their efforts were stopped when a large luminescent pearl was thrown in their direction by the koibra-gator.

"Wha-whats that?" Pyrrha asked.

"That's a dragon pearl. Or a monster core. They are typically used as magical reagents and or materials for forging. I think… I think the koibra-gator's paying us." he mutters as the Koibra-gator bobs its large head before dragging the wyvern's corpse away.

Carefully Alv picks up the pearl as he looks at the direction opposite of the koibra-gator's nest.

"That way. There should be a town there. The locals usually establish towns near Koibra-gator nests as their considered good luck omens." he speaks slowly as they back away from the break in the treeline where the beast retreated to.

She nods to him.

"I think it best we discuss what populates this world if beasts like that are commonplace here," she speaks clearly a little shaken but no worse for wear.

"Yeah, when we find a place to stay" he nods as they head in the direction opposite of the nest. Eventually, they make it a clearing. In the distance the outline of a town.

"Were almost there" she smiles as he returns her smile.
