Chapter 11 Part 1: Leaving Soon

Although it may seemed like a stupid decision on my side. I still had to go.

Anyways, the twins have improved their skills to a certain degree. They’re good enough to spar alone and self-study. Kwon Seong-Min and the others are still too weak. So it’s more beneficial for them to gain experience by staying here than following me. So I have no choice but to leave them.

“I’m trying to look for someone.”

“Your Parents? Or Siblings? Whoever it is… It’s been a long time… There may be no hope.”

Neither. I have no parents nor siblings. Oh, there’s probably something like that when I was moving from one relative’s house to another.

“The person I’m looking for is a hunter. She must have entered this gate.”

It was around this time that my mentor entered this gate. I had to go and see her.

“What if she didn’t enter? There’s no guarantee that you’ll meet her. Do you really have to take this risk?”

Since I’m the strongest specialist here, one of the scouting party would lose a leader. However, they could remedy that by having one of the twins take over the scouting party. It was inefficient for the both of them to join one reconnaissance team in the first place. It would be a waste of their unique skills.

“… What about Yu-Soo and Yu-Ra? Those kids look up to you. They might not take your leaving the camp well…”

“They’re not that young. They’re 18. Yu-Soo’s the most attached to me but with Yu-Ra around, he’ll be fine.”

After I refuted his words to the end, he was disheartened. He then lowered his head slightly and uttered his last words with a trembling voice.

“What about me?”

“What?”

I was taken aback. I had to ask again because I just couldn’t comprehend his words.

Kwon Seong-Min and I both acted as the leader of the Supermarket team at the beginning. We’ve been talking a lot and have been closer than with the others…

After entering the indoor gym, some of the supermarket team, focused on their assignments so we became distant with them. Although I’d rather run into Seol Min-joon, a member of the same scouting party. Kwon Seong-Min worked in a different field from me, so there was no reason to depend on me at all.

But why does he speak as if he’s an abandoned child?

“… If you leave, we might not be able to see each other for a long time… Do you know?”

He growled in low voice, as if threatening me. Unfortunately, he is weaker than me.

“No matter what you say, I’m going to leave.”

I declared firmly.

My attitude was the same as before. Like that time when we were still trapped inside the warehouse, and were discussing whether to leave or not. I told everyone I was going to leave no matter what their decisions are. To put it bluntly, it was a decision that does not require anyone’s opinions at all.

Kwon Seong-Min had a hardened expression and walked out of the tent. He picked up the tent cover with a shaky hand.

“This is… it’s really difficult to accept.”

Choi Woo-Do looked at the whole farce with interest. He seemed to think that the whole argument was like a pair of lovers in a verge of a break-up. However, I’ve never had any feelings of attraction towards Kwon Seong-Min. The relationship between us was quite ordinary, and he had always treated me in accordance with his public position as Choi Woo-Do’s right-hand man not like a close friend.

“I’ll talk to you again when it’s time for me to leave. Don’t worry, the Scouting team under me will be handed over to either Yu-Soo or Yu-Ra.”

“If you’re going to go, I can’t stop you… I don’t think you’ll change your mind even if we ask you to.”

He’s right. No matter what they do, I won’t change my mind.

“But it would be better to explain it to the others…”

Choi Woo-Do gave me a meaningful glance, and I roughly nodded. Although Kwon Seong-Min overacted a little bit, I think the others won’t be as difficult to deal with as him.

… Probably.

I guess it wasn’t that simple.

“You’re Leaving? Ah… I see… Yes… Seo-Ha wants to leave and explore the wider world…”

Song Da-Jeong muttered in a slightly dejected tone. She started talking to herself, saying that she lacked confidence and was useless. She couldn’t even keep her in such a small place. I knew she had low self-esteem from the very beginning, but it’s not something to be so depressed about…

“Da-Jeong unni~ That’s not true. You never knew you would go through something like this. However, you still managed to pull yourself together, while working diligently.”

“Really…?”

Her Rabbit-like eyes which were filled with tears turned red from all her crying. She stared at me incredulously.

“But… why are you leaving? Because we’re not enough…? That’s why, right?”

“It’s not like that. I told everyone before there’s someone I need to find.”

I wanted to explain everything to everyone, but before I could do that, Song Da-Jeong rushed to my tent. Then she started asking me all the why’s she could think of before I could even answer each of them, she just started bawling.

“Who are you looking for?”

A sharp voice interrupted us. Which caught us a little by surprise.

“What do you mean by that?”

An Yu-Soo. His hazel hair glowed as light as blonde under the baptism of the moonlight. The exotic sand-colored eyes stared at me as if they were burning.

This…

After talking with Song Da-Jeong, I was planning to go talk with the twins, but they seemed to have overheard our conversation. Now they’re furious.

“An Yu-Soo. I was going to tell you anyway. I need to look for someone. So Sooner or later I need–”

“Sooner or later, what?”

His voice were cold. At this point, I couldn’t help but wonder. Although the twins spoke in an arrogant and haughty manner most of the time, I’ve never seen them take on such a serious expression. They usually bicker with each other, acting like kids, unbefitting of their age.

“…I’m leaving soon.”
