Chapter 44 Part 1: Jeon Seo-Ho

Yu-Ra ran up to me and hugged me, followed by An Yu-soo with tears in his eyes, saying that he missed me. Technically, I’m the same teacher to these kids as Hye-won was to me, but I guess I didn’t really pay much attention to it.

“I missed you!”

I gently stroked Yu-Ra’s hair. The light brown hair slid gently between my fingers. For a moment, I remembered the great conversation I had with Hye-won.

‘The people of the blue serpents… they’re all so much alike, and I don’t know how to describe it… But they’re like snakes, smiling on the outside but not knowing what they’re thinking on the inside. They’re a bunch of Poisonous species, smiling and spewing venom.’

‘But What about these twins?’

“You haven’t forgotten about us, have you?”

“Huh?”

She looked up, her eyes wide with longing, her expression also innocent.

“Yeah…” There are exceptions everywhere.

I wanted to believe that they weren’t that much of a personality scumbag, even though they were known for their prickly personalities even before the regression…

But that’s because before the regression, the twins were said to be mentally warped after witnessing the people dying inside the gym due to internal strife. This didn’t happen this time, so I think it’s fair to say that the twins are different people now than they were before the regression.

‘The twins I knew were also somewhat mischievous, but they weren’t bad kids.’

In the back of my mind, the things I said about Blue Serpent immediately flashed by, but I tried to ignore them.

“Didn’t you miss us?”

“Huh? I missed you of course.”

“When we heard you were here, we followed immediately!”

“Followed?” I finally caught sight of the man standing behind Lee Eun-Woo. His vivid blue hair was impressive. White skin and pale eyes. A long dangle of blue jewelry in one ear. He was dressed in soft clothes and wore a thick jeweled ring on his finger. His eyes were so narrow that it was hard to see his pupils, but they were clearly directed at me.

Jeon Seo-ho.

That must be him. He looked far too young to be the guild leader of the Blue Serpent. I had heard that he was a second-generation Hunter, but he seemed to be on the younger end of the spectrum. There were some who called them the 2.5 generation. Overall, he had a very Lee Eun-Woo-like air about him. As a representative of the Blue Serpent, he was well equipped with the trademark ‘Suspiciousness’.

‘I don’t know how long we’ve been making eye contact, or even if we’ve made eye contact at all.’

“I see you’re quiet.”

It’s a strange tone. The way his eyes curve when he smiles is so much like Lee Eun-Woo’s that I wonder if they’re even related.

“This… I see the Guild Leader of the Blue Serpent…”

Kim Ki-taek stepped forward and spoke.

“How have you been, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you, haha.”

It was a meaningless flattery. He walked past him as if he wasn’t even there. He stops right in front of me and the twins and stares in one direction. I followed his gaze and saw Jeon Chung-woon.

‘Jeon Chung-woon… Jeon Seo-ho…. Perhap these two are related?’

Was it this side, not Lee Eun-woo? If so, it’s very coincidental. It’s not a common surname, it’s also highly likely that they would be blood relatives. But why has a relative of the Blue Serpent head become known as the Ace of Red Flames?

“There you are. Chung-Woon.”

The tone was casual, but under his gaze, Chung-Woon’s head was lowered with a stony expression. His hands were clenched so tightly that he couldn’t even raise his head, it was like a herbivore in front of a predator.

‘What’s wrong?’

To put it bluntly… from my own opinion of things, it’s not Jeon Seo-ho who is supposed to be threatening, but Jeon Chung-woon. Jeon Seo-ho is a mage and Jeon Chung-woon is a swordsman, so why does he look so frightened?

Not just frightened, but as if he’s… in terror.

“I just saw my nephew for the first time, and he didn’t even greet me.”

Even if you don’t know them, it’s obvious that they don’t get along very well. Just as Seo-ho was about to take another step closer to Chung-woon…

“Hahaha, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Mr. Jeon Chung-Woon is a little under the weather today. Next time, when he’s healthy, we’ll…”

Kim Ki-taek immediately intervened and slightly covered Jeon Chung-Woon’s face. He hastily spat out excuses, but they were obviously lies.

“Hmm?”

Jeon Seo-ho snorted lightly, and Kim Ki-taek stiffened. He glanced at him for a moment, then turned away as if he’d lost interest.

“I’ll see you soon anyway. Until next time, be in good health, nephew.”

A strange tension immediately hung in the waiting room. Without knowing why, I was just rolling my eyes in the middle of it. He turned around and made eye contact with me again.

“And… The most coveted side.”

He raised his eyebrows, his pupils were flickering and glowing. His pupils immediately turned into thin slits, like a snake’s, and I felt a chill run down my spine immediately. The sensation of seeing something that wasn’t human crawled up my spine. But when I looked at Seo-ho’s face again, he was smiling so casually that I couldn’t see his pupils.

“My eyes are quite accurate.”

It was an exquisite line again, considering what I had seen earlier. Was it just a coincidence? It seems like he’s Choi Seok-Chul of Clairvoyance’s favorite disciple, so he must be worthy of his name.

“Nice to meet you, Hunter Han Seo-ha. I’m Jeon Seo-ho, the guild leader of the Blue Serpent.”

He sits down across from me and casually extends his hand to shake mine. I nod in greeting.
