You Plus Me Equals

Chapter 65 - Check this out while you wait... Please! XD

I am also writing a story called LINES CROSSED right now.

Excerpt from later chapters. Both couples:

~Seungwoo&Miran~

Did he even have the right coat? A proper scarf to protect his neck… What if he caught a cold…

My heart hurt with worry for him… I wanted to go inside that foreboding building that kept us apart, but I wasn't supposed to be here right now.

Mark hadn't told me to come, My family hadn't asked me to spy.

No one, not a single soul had sent me to the company as his mortal enemy tonight.

There was only my own d.e.s.i.r.e to see his slight warmth towards me and hear his voice properly. Yet, I couldn't even go in, because the moment I did I was Mark's friend and his enemy I was never just Kang Miran.

Today I wanted to be just Kang Miran the woman who loved Seungwoo with all her heart. The woman who had sat outside for the past hour waiting to cover him with an umbrella the moment he stepped outside.

The doors to the right, behind me spun open and I stood up quickly and ran in tiny steps so as not to slip in my heels on the slick wet ground. My coat parted with each step and the cold air nipped at my n.a.k.e.d legs.

I s.u.c.k.e.d in a breath and opened the umbrella, then charged at him as quick as I could. But the umbrella blocked my view and I tripped clumsily on my own two feet, and stumbled into the inner curve of the umbrella and the large tall body behind it.

Very gently, and carefully I raised the thin blue material up to cover our heads, the slight breeze created by the upward sweep of the umbrella tousled my hair, their soft edges of length tickling my cheekbones gently as Seungwoo's face came into view.

He wore a slight grimace the kind he normally wore when he saw me… a mixture of aggrievance and disdain.

"What are you doing here Miss Kang?" His deep voice snapped, curtly.

I tried to hide the sadness that tinged my very soul in that moment.

'That's right Miran when are you going to grow up? When are you going to see he doesn't care at all.'

I s.u.c.k.e.d in my lonely dissidence and stared into his dark and steeled brown eyes.

"I brought this for you to use, because I didn't think you had checked the weather today, it Is supposed to snow." I snapped, then reached out and grabbed his hand and placed the umbrella handle on it.

It took all my will to ignore the warmth that bled from his fingers into my own cold ones the moment our fingertips touched. Instead of clinging tightly to that warmth I turned on my heel and walked away doing my best not to limp.

When I tripped the stiletto from my other shoe had come up and I had grazed the back of my n.a.k.e.d ankle, skinning it enough that I had felt a small drop of blood. But I hadn't said a word, because I had just been happy I was going to be able to see Seungwoo today. Because even if it had only been a single small moment that our lives had connected, I had wanted to make that happen, because of what today was.

The day we met five years ago.

In this vast sea of bodies that roamed the day and night, at just the right moment I had made it so our worlds could meet again, not as enemies, but just as two lonely souls who had been waiting for each other in the vast sea of the growing dark sky.

Tears started to brim in my eyes as I ungracefully stomped away.

'It was only you waiting… You were wrong, Miran.'

~Mark&Mina~

"…. I want you to date me for real this time. Will you go out with me." A beautiful princely looking Mark asked me.

We stood together surrounded by a giant field of gentle pink flowers, the world around us was shiny and bright, the air clear and crisp and the sky the brightest blue I had ever seen it. It was a mountain of pink to surround and enrapture my senses.

He had a flower crown in his hair and held out a ring of two intertwined small pink flowers. He smiled at me charmingly.

I gulped and smiled fully entranced by this sweet man, then I held out my hand and he slipped the ring onto it. His smile grew when he finished and my heart fluttered faster than a car could reach its top speed.

"I am going to kiss you now. For real, for all the times I wanted to kiss you and couldn't." His voice grew deep and sensuous and he grabbed the hand I held outstretched to him, the one that he had slipped the ring on and pulled me into a tight embrace before planting his lips against mine gently...

"Miinnnaaaa…."

"Mina?" Marks voice cut into my dreams and I sat up with a start.

"What, nothing!..." I blurted, and stared at him half awake blinking rapidly and trying to remove my drool discreetly.

"Were you just sleeping?..."

I paused. Trying to be cool.

"Did you fall asleep while eating cake?" His face broke into a large grin, as he asked me such a morbidly embarrassing question loud enough for the worker to lower the magazine and snicker under their breath.

"No… No, absolutely not. I had already finished eating the cake!" I retorted hastily, his accusation causing me to be off guard yet more alert.

"But you were kissing the plate just now."

"Whaaattt!" I stuttered.

"Quite enthusiastically, like a vacuum," his smile gave the sense he was laughing at my discomfort, but because he found it amusing in a good way and that feeling was euphorically beguiling.

I froze as the image of Mark grabbing and kissing me popped into my brain.

"It was really good cake!" I snapped embarrassed. Feeling the heat rise in my cheeks and I grabbed my bag, then stormed out of the restaurant. I couldn't even face the worker or Mark, I knew for a fact that I wouldn't have a shred of dignity left if I were to stay in there with both of them staring at my crimson face.
