8. What a Coincidence

Translator: Flying Lines

It had never occurred to Su Jie that Prince Xian would do him such a big favor upon their first meeting.

Though thoughts ran wild in his mind, he remained calm as the flying spirits of a youth exuded between his brows. Lips curved, he asked, “Who are you?”

Now that he was under the disguise of Wen Nianxuan, a boy being hunted by his mortal foes, he couldn’t show any sign of him knowing this Prince Xian.

Xiao Shengnian raised his brow, not caring a bit about Su Jie’s disrespect. Being praised as the most dissolute and unrestrained prince, he claimed that beauties were his favorite. He would flirt with whoever looked good, be it a girl or a boy. However, he didn’t take any male concubines.

Xiao Shengnian was always kind to beauties.

“I am just an idler,” he said in a drawling tone, as a touch of teasing glint flashed across his eyes.

“Wen Nianxuan,” Su Jie cupped his hands to greet the prince in Jianghu  etiquette.

Xiao Shengxian was rendered in a daze by his name.

Wen Nianxuan? The boy his brother asked him to investigate. Though he had collected all the information about this boy, he had never met him.

Now suddenly seeing the boy in person, he was a bit caught off guard but soon came back to himself, his frivolous conduct gone, and sized the boy up.

He had a charming face, at least to his standard.

“Wen Nianxuan, haha.” He repeated the name several times before bursting out laughing.

His brother kind of drove him out lest he might find a chance to test this boy. Now what a coincidence! He met this boy right on his way out.

God favored him!

Xiao Shengxian laughed heartily; his slanted eyes glinted charmingly with a mist over like the morning dew of early spring.

His laughter rendered Su Jie somewhat perplexed.

He had just cupped his hands and spoke his false name. What was so funny about that?

Xiao Shengnian stopped soon. He stroked his long hair with his fair, slender finger as an enchanting air spread…

For a moment, Su Jie got a feeling that he was deliberately releasing his charm to seduce him.

“I know you. You’re Prince Rui’s new pet,” said Xiao Shengnian in a dangerous tone, his eyes narrowed.

Now this Prince Xian just personally demonstrated the meaning of being temperamental.

“Sort of,” Su Jie replied casually, the corners of his mouth slightly curved. As he lowered his gaze, you could even see the shadow of his long eyelashes on his fair skin, which added a sense of loneliness and helplessness to the boy.

It was the helplessness of being homeness and the helplessness of being confined.

Su Jie didn’t forget his identity of Wen Nianxuan for a single moment. He had to stay true to his identity to not arouse any suspicion.

“Huh, so you don’t want to stay here? You are but a lowly pet of my brother, one even without a title,” Xiao Shengxian mocked harshly as he sneered and looked overbearingly at Su Jie.

Su Jie glared fiercely at him, his fists clenched tight and his eyes burning with rage.

A Jianghu boy would never take such humiliation.

Su Jie, though knowing this Prince Xian was provoking him, still found it hard to hold back his anger. Then on a second thought, real anger under this context was actually a good thing, at least making his false identity more real and convincing.

Regaining calmness, Su Jie began to put on a show of an unruly Jianghu boy.

All the while Xiao Shengnian kept his scornful and defiant look as a sneer crept up on the corner of his mouth, which along with his slanted eyes brought out some special charm.

Su Jie, countenance alternating between indignation and shame, suddenly released his clenched fists.
