91. Gongsun Yi (2)

“And that’s why I’ve come here to have a drink.” The man grinned and drank another massive gulp. His muscles were tense, full of frightening explosive energy that was similar to a cheetah’s. His smile seemed bright, but his behavior was unrestrained. It gave people a sense of casual elegance. He was State Yanling’s General Ju Liandao’s son, Vice-general Gongsun Yi.

“Isn’t State Yanling fighting a war at the moment?” Young Master Zhang asked. He also stood under the tree’s shade.

“Hey, where did you hear that we are at war? I’ve been bored out of my mind recently, so I’ve come to stroll around City Yang. City Yang has a lot of beauties.” Gongsun Yi shook his head and said.

“What? Do you want me to take you somewhere fun?” Even though Young Master Zhang was talking, he seemed like he was trying to find someone.

Gongsun Yi pretended like he didn’t know anything and continued drinking, right until Young Master Zhang asked, “Vice-general Gongsun, you came alone this time?”

Gongsun Yi let out a grunt, giving an affirmative answer.

Young Master Zhang shook his fan and sighed, “Then you shouldn’t go out often. Prince Xian has gone missing recently. The Emperor is furious and is combing the whole country for him. They’re almost knocking at every single door in their search. You’ve really come at a bad time.”

Gongsun Yi hummed. When he drank the very last drop there was in the alcohol jar, he placed the jar by his foot and said, “I heard Prince Xian is the most handsome prince in your country?”

“That isn’t entirely wrong. However, Prince Rui and Prince Xian are both sons of Consort Yun. Prince Rui is also exceptionally beautiful, and is, at the same time, the prince who’s in the limelight the most.” Young Master Zhang didn’t normally talk about State Yanhui’s princes with other people. Because he was a citizen of Yanhui, it could turn out to be troublesome if others heard. But he didn’t need to worry about that when talking with Gongsun Yi. Gongsun Yi had once saved his life, and they got on well. Besides, Gongsun Yi was State Yanling’s citizen. Discussing the affairs of the two states sometimes wasn’t too big a deal.

“Prince Rui?” Gongsun Yi nodded, then shook his head. “I heard he has a gentle personality. Boring.”

Young Master Zhang chuckled. “What? Did you want to kidnap our country’s princes?”

Gongsun Yi laughed silently. He wouldn’t tell Young Master Zhang that it was his people who kidnapped Prince Xian. It was only because the Emperor’s search was so meticulous that Prince Xian hadn’t been brought to him yet.

“If you’re bored, you can come to find me. I’m going now.” Seeing that Gongsun Yi wasn’t that interested in talking, Young Master Zhang gave up and left, as he did not want to make himself unwelcome.

Gongsun Yi nodded and closed the doors to the courtyard. He brought out his spear and started to train. He was used to training after drinking. The spear in his hands sliced through the air.

After he finished a set of moves, two figures entered the courtyard by climbing over the walls. One of them was carrying Xiao ShengXian over his shoulder.

“Vice-general, we have returned.” Xuan Wu placed Xiao ShengXian on the ground with an unchanging expression.

Gongsun Yi held the spear out, which Shang Liu accepted and stood to one side.

“He does indeed look very handsome.” Gongsun Yi bent over and stared at Xiao Shengnian for a while. His lips curled, and his smile radiated an aura full of wild charm. He reached out a hand to stroke Xiao ShengXian’s face and said, “This Prince Xian is prettier than women. He truly is blessed with good looks.”

Xuan Wu and Shang Liu kept their silence single-mindedly.

“This Prince Xian is good-looking, but sadly, he’s not my type. Go, tie him up with those two thick ropes. He’s not an ordinary person; the entire capital city is in shock. It won’t be easy to send him back.” Gongsun Yi straightened and ordered.

Xuan Wu and Shang Liu were very familiar with tying up an unconscious Xiao ShengXian. After that, they dumped him in the corner of the room.

Poor Xiao ShengXian had never suffered so much in all his life. When he woke, it was already afternoon. His body was as stiff as a board and extremely sore. Because of being fed medicine these few days, he still felt dizzy. He was dazed for a long time before he came to.

Xiao ShengXian’s first reaction was to shout, “Who the hell dared to tie me up? Untie me!”

The voice was extremely loud and energetic.

Gongsun Yi was just drinking tea after his afternoon nap when he was startled by the voice. He frowned and said meanly, “Gag him.”

Xuan Wu expressionlessly stuffed a ball of fabric into Xiao ShengXian’s mouth.

Xiao ShengXian’s eyes widened in astonishment, and an indistinct jumble of noises came from him. Gongsun Yi wasn’t happy when he heard it.

“Make another sound again and I’ll douse a bucket of water over you. That’ll cool you down.” Gongsun Yi never joked around, and so the voice he spoke with was severe and stern. He didn’t mind that Xiao ShengXian had seen his face at all. Besides, he was already preparing to return to Yanling, and he had tens of thousands of soldiers under his command. Why would he be afraid of such a feeble prince?

As expected, when he heard this, Xiao ShengXian wanted to cry but didn’t have the tears to. If it was possible, he really wanted to implore the man: ‘Could I please have a sip of water?’

Sadly, Gongsun Yi could not hear his thoughts.
