P.O.V Zatland Mind

[f.u.c.k! Where are the officers? Where are the f.u.c.k.i.n.g officers?] I was despondent as the perp ran down the street.

Now that he was running, all the other people that he came in contact with or crossed paths with became his hostages. He could go on a spree at any moment. And some random innocent would get killed for it.

The man was showing his military background, as he continually weaved in and out of the crowd, trying to lose me...Why would a man this trained shoot a civilian?

He was faster than me, which means he must have completed, his adaptation procedure, in the military.

As military we were so much stronger than the regular civilians, so a sort of separation, between the classes happened.

From the moment the adaptation drug has been administered in our systems, through the bloodstream we were changed for life. A person living on another plane of existence from other human beings.

So killing a civilian human rarely happened, between military and Civilian, it was a division even greater than that between a celebrity and a fan.

it was a division of existence.

There would be no need to harm a civilian anymore as you could just do it indirectly. Hiring a man to kill somebody for you. It was a law that we couldn't associate with civilians past a certain point of Adaptive enhancements, so it didn't even matter if you had debts, it was like a division of realms, that only your intelligence or bodily capabilities could get through.

only people with something to offer stepped into the grander interplanetary economy.

Civilians and scientist, Civilian and military, civilian and Merchant Businessmen, civilian and criminal, all had been divided into their own separate economic systems. With their own money.

Civilians being on the bottom rung.

it was an idiot act to kill a Civilian in public, cause there were so many ways to do it secretly.

...

The man walked around like he was leaving several hints for me to follow, Or had just lost it?

I started thinking... was anybody in that building truly related to him?

Something felt wrong about all of this. I reached for my watch and continued dialing the Authorities in the area. I believed I would just manage to keep the airwave traffic controller up to date, as it was what protocol said to do.

I looked around the area to see just what I could use, to shorten the gap between him and me.

Today was more interesting than I thought it would be. I need to find a way to lead him into a course, a habit of running that I could anticipate. I was suddenly feeling a lot less nervous now; I had come to a certain realization.

Narrator

The man just ahead of Zatland was gaining distance, while looking for a chance, to slip out of Zatland's sight, as He moved he scanned for places in which he could either crawl, hide, or dive into for safety.

it wasn't long before he started finding opening's to escape.

For some time now, Zatland had begun to be pushed by the crowd towards the left side of the road. An Alleyway on the furthest right-hand corner was beginning to look like a decent direction in which he could lose him and make his escape.

He looked behind him at the slightly delayed Zatland, who had just managed to bump into a huge bodybuilder-est guy. Seeing a chance to escape Zatland's vision. He took it and lost Zatland's Trial.

In less than a millisecond, in which Zatland was busy being overshadowed by a stranger, the man had already disappeared from the scene.

Zatland didn't even look up; he began moving rapidly in the opposite direction.

The man in the transmogrifying mask shook his head in disappointment; he began escaping down the opposite side alleyway.

As he moved although fast, it was without a tremendous sense of urgency...

he came to an abrupt halt as his heart beat out of his c.h.e.s.t.

Zatland at one point had appeared right in front of him.

He turned on his heels to escape in the opposite direction.

But it was already too late, Zatland lunged at him, like a six-foot-tall leopard.
