100 Worlds: The Journey Of Hope Seven

Chapter 4 - Karma The Tenth Elite

"Oh Great one, I have come to gain your power."

A chubby kid in glasses strolled down the hall at a quick pace. No one seemed to care about the odd sight of the kid chanting to himself as he moved closer to Aiden's location.

Aiden however, felt something spark in his mind. Something warm was slowly getting closer, he could feel it. The sensation he has never felt before was making its way down the hall. Aiden scratched his head furiously trying to shake the odd occurrence. It did not go away, in fact the warmth was painfully annoying.

"Ow! Mr. Sawyer I think somethings wron-"

He never finished, The bald teacher who was sleeping was now completely gone. As if he no longer existed. 'When did he leave?' Aiden pondered as he clutched his head. Whatever was going on, Aiden needed to leave immediately.

He left his backpack and rushed toward the door. 'It was coming.'

'What was coming? You can't say that in my head if you don't know Aiden?'. He was almost going insane as beads of sweat littered his body. Aiden fully believed he was having a stroke.

"Hey!"

He called before he collapsed to the ground.

No he could not die here, he had a dream.

Then the sensation was gone, just as if nothing had happened. Staring at his hands, he started to go back for his backpack.

"You are the Great one."

Aiden stopped and swirled around.

'Was it not lunch, what was he doing here?'

The kid was a little overweight and had a red face and a mess of blonde hair accompanied by blue square glasses. Aiden smiled to see that someone else was around.

"If you are here for lunch detention then you're really late, I'm sure Mr. Sawyer won't care though. Do you know were the office was again, I think I had a stroke?"

The boy slowly made his way toward Aiden.

"You see Great one, I just tried to use a Great Master level spell on you, Full Erase."

'A what now?' Aiden was listening to the boy speak gibberish but did not quite understand what he meant by "Great Master spell". It might have been a nerd or some special kid roaming the hallways. Aiden shot him a "never mind then" glance and turned toward the doorway.

"Oh Great one please don't ignore me."

The air seem to become musty and the lights dimmed more then they ever should have, Aiden noticed this with a nervous glance.

A dark mist exploded forward from the kids c.h.e.s.t and collided with the back of Aiden, sending him flying against lockers on the opposite side. With a loud THUD Aiden was unconscious in a matter of milliseconds.

"Ahhh it feels great to be in a,"

He glanced at the other boy who was lying down face first on the tile floor,

"Skinnier body. I can work with this."

The different Aiden smiled a hideous grin as he sauntered toward the exit of the school. A bell rang signaling the end of lunch, the sound somehow forgein to New Aiden's ears.

This was do to the fact Aiden was no more, a race far from Earth now dwelled within his body, controlling every nerve and thought. It was Karma, the tenth Elite of the Dread, a race of creatures who inhabited the 100th world simply know as "End".

Using a Master spell he connected with the Second Elite, Sivian.

"Hello brother Sivian, the great one has been captured and is being transported to World 2 immediately, I will await for orders there."

He hissed the words with arrogance as he proudly walked in his best catch so far. Even if it was in its early stages of growth, Karma was indeed inside a human. The strongest magic users in the entire 100 Worlds.

World 2- Jackle

Royal Amaris Palace

August 4

A beautiful young maiden sat quietly in her room. She wore an amazingly glorious white dress that teemed with royalty. The young lady examined herself in the arc shaped mirror just above her personally crafted marble floor.

"Hello everyone, I am the second daughter of Queen Diane and I am warmed to see the great people of Amaris."

The lady bit her lip as she noticed her silver lipstick was off a bit. She wadded it down with her handkerchief and set it on the dresser.

"My name is Reinala and I-"

She slightly whimpered as the next words never came.

"I will never become Queen."

She threw herself on her triple King sized bed and put her hands over face. Yelling into her hands, she undid her braided hair with a flick of her fingers. Reinala was tired of all the royal garbage she had to do, she wanted to be with the wild life she had collected in the palace garden. Apparently her Raincoated deer had offspring, something she missed because of practicing for the royal ceremony of the Queen. 'What a waste of time' she thought as she thew her tiara on her pillow. She took a moment too look at her skin. It was cherry colored and had a weird engraving that ran down her forearms. Most Fairies had these marking to symbolize they were born master magic users. Reinala thought they were so ugly that she regularly wore long sleeved clothing.

"Why do I even have to try to be a Queen, Mother knows full and well my heart lies with my animals."

She sat up and crossed her arms,

"Damn that woman to hell."

'and damn sister for leaving without me." She roared in her head before slamming her head into her pillow. She proceeded to yell once more. 'Maybe someone could save me from the nightmare'

She pleaded before throwing all of her clothes off and putting on her usual huntress outfit. Reinala locked the buckles on her shoes before deciding to check on the new child she missed the birth of. A slight rush of excitement filled her body as she dashed down the hallway.

August 4?

—- —- —-

Aiden awoke from the darkness. He panted heavily as the air seemed thick with something he did not recognize. There was nothing but darkness, he could not even see his own feet or hands but he knew they were there. Cold encroached on him as he started to gain feeling back.

"Hello my companion."

The voice boomed behind Aiden but of course, he turned and saw pitch black.

"Now I know you are scared, they always are after all, I will explain everything in due time."

The world was vibrating and Aiden could faintly hear talking besides the voice. 'Were am I'.

It all felt familiar to him, as if he has spent an entire lifetime in this place. His body was drawn to staying still, he no longer wanted to escape. Although he sill wanted answers.

"Tell me voice, what place is this and why am I here?"

A sickening laughed answered him first,

"This is you, you are within your own body, a prisoner of it."

The statement somehow made sense to Aiden. The darkness was still permanent though.

"What about the darkness? Why am I not in control?"

There was the silence of just him within darkness. Seconds passed and no answer came and just as they did, they turned into minutes. 'Looks like I ran out of luck'.

"Wait, I know you. Your name is Karma."

The cold returned once again,

"How do you know such a name?!"

Aiden realized that if he was in his own body, then he was always in control, just not his nervous system.

"This is my body so all you know I should know, no?"

Laughter once again,

"Looks like humans are also not as foolish as I might have hoped. Let me put it simply, as time passes in real time me and your minds slowly start to assimilate, and I will gain all knowledge you have with full control of everything."

Aiden but his lip, or what he thought it would be, his body felt fuzzy know. The fuzziness started to overflow his senses but he kept fighting the urge to sleep. 'Whatever's going on, I cannot let this, uh, creature take over me.'

Aiden was still not use to not having a tangible body. He was especially not used to being controlled in the slightest, the feeling was horrible. Like he was being left in both real and mental darkness. 'Karma, eh?' He thought about his brother for a moment before he decided what he would do.

"Karma as we become one I will understand your reasoning behind this and when that moment happens, I will fight for control."

Karma lashed out in anger,

"How dare you threaten me boy, human or not, you are still weak."

Aiden weighed his words, He was bewildered by the turn of events but he was always good as this sort of thing. Going with the flow was his way of life, or almost was. As his mind collapsed in and knowledge of a memories crash down on him.

World 100- End

Desolate Valley

—- —- —-

Aiden pushed himself off the ground. Blinking a few times his eyes adjusted and he surveyed the area. It seemed like he was on the moon, grey mush rock for miles on end. Craters scattered about drastically and weird mountain like structures sat on the horizon.

"Where am I?"

A familiar sinister voice spoke,

"This is my home world, End."

'Home world?' The landscape was so b.a.r.e of any color that it hurt to almost look at. As if life itself gave up on this planet.

"As are minds collide our pasts are shared and as you can see, their is nothing here but rock and silence."

"Why is that?" Aiden asked as he tested out the worlds gravity, it was very similar to Earth's, or from what he could tell.

"Because our magic is both a curse and blessing. We housed the principle of Extinction."

"A principle of what now?"

The mist shuddered in annoyance and quickly tapped Aiden's head with a dark tendril.

Answers to many of His upcoming questions vanished as red light blurred his vision.

'The Dread were a race of only a hundred strong and possessed magic capabilities of riding mortals existences that were weak. They hated this magic as the life that once grew here grew extinct rather fast. The magic seeped out of the planet's core destroying any hope of producing life. These creatures were cursed for eternity. No color, just grey nothingness.'

Aiden realized that the mist seemed to cry before him. Was such a emotion possible by gaseous darkness?

"Then why do you want to take my body, my will?"

"Because you are the last Human who carries the discipline of fate. We want to shun our planet from existence completely but in order to do so, we need all of the 100 races."

Aiden gestured to the shade,

"Then why not just ask for help?!"

"We did, and no one would listen, we are truly alone."

Alone.... the word echoed inside Aiden's mind and finally centered. He took a few moments of silence. His life was an unlucky ball of a shit storm, and that was the nicest to put it. He might have been possessed by some other worldly demon but still, he felt bad. It was like this race was him but even worse. More now then ever, Aiden felt sorrow. 'My dream can always wait I guess.'

"Let me help you."

"What human?"

Aiden took another inhale before bowing slightly toward the dark mist,

"Let me help you free your race from this curse."

"..."

Aiden raised his head and stared at the creature,

"I may be some random human with a dream of becoming a journalist but I can't look away from a person who truly needs help."

"...."

"I Aiden Dire will give my best effort to help save your race."

The mist grew in size so rapidly that Aiden was consumed instantly. After a flash of white he was now sitting calmly on a hill. A single tree throwing shade across his body. He was in control again. He clutched his head as Karma and his mind completely merged together. The goofy emotionless personality of Aiden and the Cruel chaotic mind of Karma slammed together. All of his memories taking effect on his body.

"Woah, one hundred worlds. I guess history class never covered this."

Karma spoke within his head. 'I apologize for the distraught memories, it must be heavy."

Aiden examined his arms and legs and tried his best to feel his face. "It's not all that bad, It feels like I just watched a really long movie."

Aiden stood as he realized he was next to the edge of a cobblestone wall riddled with moss and other life.

'Karma where am I?' The air was so different that it stung to breathe in.

World 2- Jackle

Ruins of Old

August 5

—- —- —-

'Woah' Aiden said as a few lines of text seem to appear in his mind.

'We have come here to await orders.'

'What orders?'

'That I do not know.'

Aiden rubbed the back of his neck before taking the initiative to walk toward the wall. It cut through the forest in both directions. The wall towered above him ten or so meters and looked so out of place in such a nature infested place.

'What are the 100 worlds, I can only vaguely get an understanding.'

After a few moments of inner talk Aiden was scratching his chin underneath the same white tree he woke up at.

'So you are telling me that trillions of people wanted humans gone. We couldn't of been that bad, right?'

Silence on Karma's end. With the few minutes Aiden spent with Karma he could already guess a lot about the creature. It was just a broken soldier following orders. Not much emotion came from the being and it seemed more distant then it originally was. Wait.

Aiden looked at his palms, he was on another planet! The urgency and scale set in his stomach as all the knowledge came back again. He honestly thought this was all a dream and followed along but it was all real. The weak Aiden on Earth was no longer inside him replaced by this demon, Karma. Memories that did not belong to him filled his head and suddenly pictures of his family kept coming to him. 'This is going to fast'

Karma spoke in a calm voice to answer his plead.

'It is hard to comprehend such a universe when you lived thousands of years without knowing.'

Aiden shook as he just wanted to be at school again, with the rude teacher he could vaguely remember and the shitty town he lived in. Even if he did not have much going for him he still wanted to be on Earth. The words he spoke before was just his calm nature taking ahold of him in the moment. He rarely panicked, he forced himself to chill out. Freaking out never fixed anything and Aiden knew this firsthand.

'I cant just sit here' Aiden pleaded as he examined the forest closer. The trees were very Earth like, teeming with mysterious life and aura he could not understand.

'I do not prefer to sit but orders are orders."

Aiden sighed as he leaned his back against the trunk of the oak. 'What the hell am I getting myself into?"
