2 Years Of Restarting

"Manager… please don't tell us that we have to add more work? I already work overtime every single day for the past week!" one of the artist under her shuddered. She was wearing thick makeup to cover up the black mark under her eyes, but it was clear that she was tired.

"There's indeed more work but not for your group." Yu Yan was checking the announcement on her phone. She rubbed her forehead because she felt that it was really tiring for her to continue working like this. 

Their boss was indeed a demon, but last month, they got enormous bonus and even Yu Yan also got it. Thanks to that, everyone was already very excited to go back to work.

So what if they have to work overtime?

The pay is good!

It was also not really beyond their limit because the work was almost done. The hype from the sudden announcement of Zhang Liang's wife had started to saturate and their work was no longer as much as before.

Though, they still stayed behind because there were always some things that they might need to fix.

"What is it, Manager Yu?" the female leader asked.

"Someone comes for collaboration. I'll be the one to greet her." Yu Yan glanced at the other manager who gave her the get go. The other manager was already dead tired just from supervising and also checking everything. It didn't matter which one of them go as long as the manager was from the art section.

Yu Yan walked to the lift and pressed down.

Ding!

She was about to go down when she realized the person who walked in was the exact person whom she was supposed to fetch. Her face turned red in embarrassment.

"Miss Xiao, my apologies for not picking you up."

"Ah, it's fine." The woman, Xiao Lin, looked at Yu Yan. She glanced at the name tag and called, "Manager Yu?"

"Yes, it's me."

"Could you brief me about the project while you guide me."

"Certainly." Yu Yan smiled and started to explain the collaboration project that Zhang Corporation planned to do with Beauty Design. While Zhang Corporation moved in sweet, especially chocolate, Beauty Design was a company that produced clothing and good design. They were pretty famous and was known to be one of the few best brand.

The detail of the cooperation was not disclosed completely to Yu Yan but it might be related to the new wraps that they would introduce during next event.

After she had finished explaining, they had arrived by the meeting room. "Feng Mian will represent Zhang Corporation for the collaboration. You can discuss the detail with her when she comes."

"Alright."

Yu Yan looked at Xiao Lin for another look before she retreated back. For some reason she felt that Xiao Lin looked familiar but she couldn't think of anything. There was a cooperation with her too before but she was not present because it was above her.

'Did I know her?'

Before Yu Yan could dwell too long in this matter, her colleague had called her over, telling her to work. With no other option, she had to return back to her work.

"There's a newbie in my group today. Manager Yu, could you be as kind to help me brief her the work?" the male leader asked with a bitter smile.

Yu Yan nodded. She glanced to the side and saw a girl stood timidly. She had the oriental face and looked fairly cute with her wavy hair around her shoulder. When she noticed that Yu Yan looked at her, she mustered a small smile.

"Manager Yu."

"Hello, you're Mu Cheng Yue?"

"Yes."

"Since you're new, I would like you to familiarize yourself with the environment first. Have you ever worked in the art section in the past?"

"Yes. I worked as an artist in…"

It took Yu Yan some time before she let the new girl off because she wanted to know Mu Cheng Yue better. The girl looked pretty decent and had some experience. It shouldn't be that bad.

Time passed swiftly.

"Manager Yu, please make sure to send Miss Xiao off." The other art section manager waved to her.

Yu Yan passed a glance to him. "Can't you be the one to see her off?"

"I have to visit the factory." The manager shrugged. He also wanted to stay behind because it was easier but his work was not done yet.

"Fine."

"Thanks. I'll treat you to milk tea later."

"Sure."

Cleaning her table, Yu Yan kept her eyes peeled on the meeting room. There were several people who started to walk out. They seemed to be satisfied with the result of the meeting just now.

Feng Mian walked out with Xiao Lin joyfully. It looked like she was also having fun from their meeting, a rare thing considering how meetings were usually very strenuous and could be annoying.

"Yan'er!" Feng Mian waved her hand.

Yu Yan smiled but didn't go to hug Feng Mian because there were others. "Mian'er. How's the meeting?"

"Done well!" Feng Mian showed two of her fingers as she smiled brightly. "Don't worry, I'll definitely make the best result."

"Don't overdo it. You know that art is subjective." Yu Yan was amused. One of the things that she learned first when she entered the art departments was that art was very subjective. The second thing she learned… she had to cater to her teacher's preferences in terms of arts if she wished to pass.

Feng Mian giggled. "I'll be going now. See you later Si…Xiao Lin and Yan'er."

"Take care, Mian'er."

Xiao Lin was smiling politely and nodded at Yu Yan. "Shall we go, Manager Yu?"

"Yes, Miss Xiao."

The smile on Xiao Lin's face deepened but she didn't say anything else and the two of them headed to the lift. Yu Yan looked at Xiao Lin's face once more and couldn't help but think about her cousins. For some reasons Xiao Lin looked like her cousins a bit.

Ding!

The lift arrived and the two women walked out. Yu Yan looked at Xiao Lin. "Would you like me to call a cab for you, Miss Xiao?"

"There's no need. I can go home by myself."

"In that case, I'll accompany you to the front door."

Xiao Lin smiled in response.

Yu Yan knew that Xiao Lin was a cool and slightly aloof person, which made many others find it hard to talk to her if she didn't give them a chance. Even now, Yu Yan could see that there seemed to be an invisible barrier that made it hard for her to get close to Xiao Lin even if she wanted to.

Her mind was still thinking when she saw the figure near the front door. He was still wearing the contact lenses but his long hair was visible. It was tied to the back nicely while he waited there. Some people, including the security guard, glanced at him from time to time but didn't make any move since Long Ying had said that he was only waiting.

"I'll go ahead."

"Ah, Miss Yu?"

"I wouldn't like to interrupt the meeting of a husband and wife," Xiao Lin replied amusedly.

Yu Yan blinked her eyes. Had she ever told Xiao Lin that she was already married and that her husband was precisely the man standing before them? She thought that she had never said that before, right?

However, Xiao Lin didn't give her any time to response as she sauntered to the front door. Her eyes looked at Long Ying for a moment before a sneer formed on the corner of her lips.

"I never expected the Dragon Clan Leader to get married so quickly."

"Don't get too close to my wife." Long Ying's eyes were cold as he looked at Xiao Lin menacingly.

However, the woman was not afraid of him. She merely laughed languidly. "Don't worry, I know my place. However, some interaction will be inevitable since she's my distant cousin."

Long Ying's eyes sunk as he wished that he could give this woman a good beating. However, they were in public and he himself knew that this annoying woman's skill was extremely good. If they were to fight for real, it might last a long time before they could figure out the winner.

He calmed his emotion and then looked at Yu Yan with a gentle gaze.

"You're so busy, why do you come here?" Yu Yan looked at Long Ying with inquiry and concern.

"My work is done. That said, you always end your work this late?" He should give that Zhang Liang a good beating for making his wife work so late at night. 

"Oh, today is an exception because I'm the one tasked to see Miss Xiao off." Yu Yan shrugged.

Long Ying's eyes narrowed. "You have a lot of work with her?"

"No."

"Good, stay away from her and don't come into contact with her unnecessarily."

"Eh?"

"She's dangerous."
