2 Years Of Restarting

An Lin was speechless.

He took another look at the couple before him as he muttered, "Boss and Madam are the best. They can even scare married people away."

Lan Huo rolled his eyes. If the boys started to spread the news to Boss again, he would not help An Lin in the slightest bit. This annoying man should just get punished for saying that their Boss's relationship was so scary.

Thankfully, the eating scene didn't last forever.

"There's someone approaching," Long Ying reminded, glancing nonchalantly to the window then returned back to his glass.

Yu Yan was itching to stare, but she also tried to be covert. From her field of vision, she could see there was a man with unkempt clothes who came to Long Ying's subordinates. The two of them talked with each other for a bit but Yu Yan couldn't hear their conversation at all.

"What are they talking about?" Yu Yan felt a bit frustrated.

Long Ying looked at his woman, who was trying her best to be covert but actually looked much cuter than anything. He smiled lightly. "They're discussing about whether he wants to buy some interesting thing."

"Huh? How do you know?"

"I can read lips."

Yu Yan's mouth formed the word 'o.' It was only now she felt that Long Ying had changed so much from the time she knew him. Or was it because the young Long Ying she knew was him not showing his real self to her?

As if knowing what Yu Yan was thinking, Long Ying continued. "It's not like I want to hide this but I'm not allowed to use my skills back in High School or it'll be detrimental to my position and future. Now that there's no such concern, I can show you my skill without much reservation."

"I see. I didn't know the Long Ying who got beaten up back then is actually so powerful."

"I have to hide it." Long Ying showed a helpless smile. It was not like he wanted to but it was the rule in his family. If he ever showed his real skill before he assumed his position, he might lose his life due to other family's scheme.

"I know." Yu Yan stuck out her tongue. "But I don't want to see you hide your real self from me."

"I won't."

Yu Yan nodded in satisfaction. She was always being herself whenever she was with Long Ying or when she was alone. There was never any need for her to put that much mask when she was just interacting with this young man. The only time she put on mask was when she interacted with her colleague and made sure that they didn't back stab her.

It was tiring.

Her eyes landed on the two people outside as she saw that the man slipped something to Long Ying's subordinate. From the way it looked like, it was something that was something illegal considering how they hold it.

Yu Yan arched her eyebrows. "Are there no security cameras to the point that they can trade that in broad daylight?"

"There are security cameras, but the position is not directed at the location where those two stands." Long Ying sipped the glass. His long hair covered the listening device that he had placed on his ear, which was used for him to listen to An Lin's report.

"Boss, we got the items."

"Send it to lab."

"Long Ying?" Yu Yan was stunned.

"I was talking to An Lin. There's no need for us to stay here any longer. The next step is to identify the medicine and track that man." Long Ying looked at Yu Yan and raised his hand to pat her head lightly. "This might take some time and you're not allowed to follow."

"Eh?"

"It'll be dangerous." Long Ying's eyes deepened. The base where these people were staying would be equipped with guns and other weapons. If he brought Yu Yan along, her safety would be compromised. He would never be able to forgive himself if he let her got hurt because of him.

Yu Yan pursed her lips but she nodded. "Alright, do you need to move now?"

"No. My subordinates can handle the tailing and my task is to supervise them for now," Long Ying replied with a smile. "I still have time to spare to stay with my lovely wife."

"Wha…" Yu Yan felt that Long Ying's mouth had become even more dangerous than before. She pursed her lips and turned her head around, refusing to look at him anymore.

"Let's go back home. There's nothing to watch here anymore."

"Okay."

Taking Long Ying's hand, Yu Yan followed him. She could sense him tensed up slightly because he was the one who usually initiated this but he relaxed almost right afterwards. His grip to her hand grew tighter as Long Ying led her out of the cake shop.

The subordinates who were hiding: "…" F*%^! We could see flowers around Boss now!

"It's scary," Lan Huo muttered.

An Lin had just finished giving instruction for some of them to tail that drug dealer. "What's scary?"

"It's scary that Madam's action can influence Boss so much even though it's just little things," Lan Huo replied. He could see that Long Ying's emotion was affected greatly by Yu Yan's action. No matter whether it was being happy, annoyed, sad, worried, all kind of emotion sprout out of Long Ying so quickly whenever he was with Yu Yan.

An Lin blinked his eyes. "Isn't it just because he cares for her?"

"Yes."

"Why are you worried? My brother and sister in law are also the same when they first court each other." An Lin rolled his eyes. He was also so scared when he saw his brother suddenly changed and became so shameless.

"I'm not afraid if it's anyone else, but it's Boss we're talking about." Lan Huo looked at An Lin. "What do you think would happen when those people found out that Boss got married?"

An Lin's face turned ugly. Because he was too focused on the other missions along with the fact that Boss gave them a lot of dog food, he forgot about that matter. "They'll target her."

"Yes." Lan Huo cast a worried look. "I hope that there won't be anything bad that happens."

"Don't jinx it."

"What?"

"Whenever you say something bad, it'll happen…"

"Damn you An Lin! Come here and let me beat you up!"

"No way!"

While Long Ying's subordinates got into fight, Long Ying drove Yu Yan back to their residence. He didn't ask Lan Huo to come along because that man would have to handle some matters first before coming back.

As they entered the residence, Yu Yan's eyes landed on a black sports car that was parked on the front. She pointed at it. "Do you have guest?"

Long Ying's eyes narrowed. "It's my uncle."

"Ehhhh?"

"Come out, I'll introduce you to him."

Yu Yan let Long Ying unbuckled her seatbelt before she came out of the car, feeling worried. What if his uncle didn't like her? She was worried that she would give him bad impression since Long Ying and her basically didn't have any interaction before they suddenly got married just a few weeks ago.

They did have in the past but it was eight years ago and the time they didn't spend with each other had made a lot of differences. 

"Meet him now?" Yu Yan asked nervously.

Long Ying nodded. "Don't worry, Uncle will like you."

"Really?"

"Yes."

While Yu Yan was still nervous, Long Ying guided her into the mansion by holding her hand. The living room's lighting was on and the sound of a man laughter entered their ear. Long Ying furrowed his brows but he continued to walk inside and pushed the door to the living room open.

A middle aged man, who looked like the splitting image of Long Ying, was sitting on the sofa. He held a bottle of wine with his right hand while his silver eyes were looking towards the television before him. From this angle, Yu Yan didn't know what he was watching, but it was clear that he liked what he was seeing very much. 

"Uncle," Long Ying greeted.

"Oh? You're back?" the middle aged man turned his head around and looked at the two of them with smiles. His silver eyes landed on their interlocked hands as his gaze faltered. He had sensed that there were two people so he thought that Long Ying brought a guest back.

But this…

"Nice to meet you, my name is Long Shao Han. I'm Long Ying's uncle," the middle aged man, Long Shao Han, quickly introduced himself. Even though he looked quite uncomfortable by what he saw, he chose to hide his feelings inside.

Yu Yan smiled and walked closer. "I'm Yu Yan and I…"

"Uncle, this is my wife," Long Ying cut her words because he noticed that she was hesitant.

As expected, Long Shao Han's expression changed when he heard their introduction.
