A Celestial's Wrath

Chapter 8 - Encountering a Beauty

Unaware of the approaching danger, Yan Hao peacefully sat in the meadow with his back against a tree. The Abyss Wolf Dagger coin flipped and slipped through his fingers, dancing around them.

"I have to become stronger…" Yan Hao whispered under his breath.

Suddenly, a swarm of birds cried out and fled from the deeper parts of the forest. The subtle noises of tearing wood and rumbling crashes followed it and scared even more birds away.

Occasional loud snarls and bellows sent the ground trembling. The beastly sounds got louder and louder, drawing nearer toward him. The beast clearly was on its way toward Yan Hao.

Yan Hao stopped playing with the Abyss Wolf Dagger coin and focused his sight toward the source of the sound. "What is that?" he asked himself.

And then a silhouette of a girl appeared from where the sound came from. A few hundred meters behind her, a monstrous Abyss Wolf King followed her. The beast was as big as a van and rammed through trees as if they were made of paper.

One tree after another was destroyed and torn apart. The creations of nature, which grew over dozens of years, meant nothing in front of the Abyss Wolf King. It saw it only as a simple facade.

"That doesn't look good," said Yan Hao and stood up.

As the girl and the Abyss Wolf King drew nearer, Yan Hao could see the girl more clearly. Xiu Bingbing looked to be the same age as him and had glossy skin. A look of exhaustion tainted her mesmerizing face, and she clearly couldn't hold on any longer.

Her shirt was already torn in half, leaving her belly in plain view. A bloody scar scratched across the area between her belly and perfectly round b.r.e.a.s.ts where the shirt was torn. The blood flowed over her belly and tainted her forest-green hotpants with red spots.

Two black leather straps squeezed around her n.a.k.e.d tights, squishing her tender flesh together; and on each strap were 3 empty coin sockets.

Seeing such a beautiful girl with godly legs left Yan Hao rooted to the ground. He couldn't help himself but stare at her…

Xiu Bingbing's eyes brightened up as she saw Yan Hao and a tinge of red blossomed onto her peach-soft cheeks. With her last strength, she ran toward Yan Hao and plunged into his arms.

Her big eyes were still filled with determination as she gazed at Yan Hao. Her rosy lips parted and she said in a lovely yet weak voice, "Please…"

That one word was all she could say before she fell unconscious from her exhaustion and wound. With her being in Yan Hao's arms, he could smell the sweet fragrance of citrus fruits lingering on her while two soft things pressed against his c.h.e.s.t.

He swallowed his saliva and sat her to a tree with her back against the bark. And when he turned back around, he saw the Abyss Wolf King drawing nearer.

It looked similar to the Abyss Wolf from before, but it was way bigger and had slight differences. Its claws and teeth were golden; and instead of horns, it had antlers. The antlers drilled out from its skull, and the beginning of them looked thick and like horns. But the horns changed midway into antlers resembling a b.a.r.e tree branch.

Its antlers were pitch-black like its fur and had golden engravings in them. Eerie-black darkness seeped from the antlers into the air like scorched wood would do.

The Abyss Wolf King shot its gaze at Yan Hao and bared its ugly teeth. It gave a growling and rumbling snarl which let more saliva drip down its deformed fangs. Its fur bristled and made it seem even more savage.

It widened its maw, baring more of its hideous teeth, and its bull-like neck began to puff out, expanding to double the size of its head before it deflated to its normal size again.

Suddenly, its snarling formed into a ground-shaking bellow and it pounced at Yan Hao.

Yan Hao flipped his Abyss Wolf Dagger coin and caught it with his other hand. Swiftly, he pressed the coin and it transformed into a curved dagger. It was pitch-black like the fur of the Abyss Wolf and had a razor-sharp edge.

The Abyss Wolf King's maw was now only a few meters away from Yan Hao. It was near enough so that he could smell the stench of death coming from its mouth.

He jumped up and grabbed its smoking antlers. With a swift turn, he landed on the Abyss Wolf King's back and readied his dagger to pierce its neck.

However, the Abyss Wolf King reacted fast and lifted its head in a weird position, sending its antlers towards Yan Hao.

"Not good," Yan Hao mumbled and turn the dagger's dull side facing the incoming antlers.

A metallic clang sounded out as the antlers clashed against the dagger and Yan Hao was knocked off the beast's back. He twisted and turned in the air and landed perfectly on the ground.

Without losing time, Yan Hao turned the dagger back to the sharp edge and thrust it at the Abyss Wolf King's exposed neck.

The Abyss Wolf King still had its head lifted from sending its antlers backward and was, therefore, exposing its throat. Seeing Yan Hao approaching with the dagger, it puffed its bull-like neck, inflating it like it did before.

Yan Hao's dagger pierced into it and left only the handle sticking out. But to Yan Hao's shock, it had no effect on the beast. It was as if the dagger pierced a football filled with air. Even though the dagger pierced its inflated neck, nothing happened at all.

No blood came out and no pain was shown on the Abyss Wolf King's face. Not even the inflated neck deflated. If it could do this every time, there was no chance for the small dagger to pierce its throat correctly.

"Shi*t!" Yan Hao cursed as he pushed his feet against the puffed neck and used it to jump wide away from it.

After he landed on the ground again, Yan Hao retrieved an Abyss Wolf Meat coin from his inventory and grasped it with his free hand.

A sinister smirk appeared on his face and he said, "Let's pound some meat."
