A Celestial's Wrath

Chapter 9 - I'm Not a Saint

Yan Hao flipped the coin with a snap of his thumb and a metallic clang sounded out. The coin flashed out of his hand and flipped insanely fast with nearly 40 rotations per second, shooting toward the Abyss Wolf King's face.

And because Yan Hao's thumb hit strong enough at the coin for the flip, the coin transformed mid-flight into a 100-pound big slab of meat, spinning at the same speed as the coin did before.

With its rotation speed and weight, it even had enough force to demolish a car. It was comparable to a speeding car on a highway hitting an approaching deer.

However, this was definitely not enough to kill the Abyss Wolf King and Yan Hao knew that. That's why Yan Hao dashed behind the meat and approached the beast too.

The Abyss Wolf King saw the slab of meat flashing with full speed toward his face. It gave a heinous snarl and bared its fangs to catch the meat.

However, the beast saw the meat flying at an average speed at it and didn't realize the speed of the meat's rotation. The slab of meat pounded at its snout and slapped its head into the ground with a loud bang, shaking the ground.

Right at that moment, Yan Hao jumped toward its head with a mocking grin on his lips and held his dagger high up.

He grunted loudly and bored the dagger between the Abyss Wolf King's antlers. It was instantly dead and couldn't even utter a cry of pain.

Yan Hao gave a satisfied chuckle and retrieved a stack of coins from the Abyss Wolf King. The Abyss Wolf King's body disappeared shortly after and Yan Hao stored its coins and the slab of meat back into his inventory.

"I will take a look at the coins later. The girl is more important now," Yan Hao said and went to her side.

Xiu Bingbing sat there peacefully against the tree. Her eyes were closed and her long eyelashes were put on display. Gentle breaths escaped from her cherry-red lips. They showed a stark contrast to her porcelain and soft skin and left Yan Hao in the d.e.s.i.r.e to know how soft her kiss-inspiring lips actually are.

"No, no, no! You can't kiss her! What am I thinking?!" Yan Hao reprimanded himself. "That would be wrong and she would see me as a pervert! I can't do that!"

Getting rid of all his unhealthy thoughts, he focused his attention on her bloody scratch wound. It stretched horizontally across her c.h.e.s.t and was between her b.r.e.a.s.ts and navel. Ugly blood constantly oozed out from it and her glossy skin already turned pale from the loss of blood.

With a swift motion, Yan Hao grabbed the remaining two injectors, which were attached to his ankle, and removed both their caps.

He pushed them against her tender skin and when the hydraulic noise sounded out, pumping the liquid into her body, multiple lines crept over her skin from the point of injection. They looked like a high-tech crossword puzzle; and as they reached over the wound, the injury healed with an insane speed, leaving no scar behind.

With his hands on the injectors, Yan Hao watched the liquid being drained from the injectors and waited for them to become empty.

"Mmm~" a muffled groan sweet in tone came from Xiu Bingbing. It seemed that she was woken up.

Her enchanting eyes opened and blinked a few times at Yan Hao, who had a deadpan expression. Slowly, she turned her gaze downward where Yan Hao's arms led to and saw his hands on her belly.

Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment and her lips parted. "Perverted!" she screamed and slapped him in the face.

A loud smacking sound clapped through the air and Yan Hao's face was turned to the side.

He turned his head back and glared at Xiu Bingbing, who pouted her cheeks and glared at him. Even though she looked breathtakingly beautiful, she had a feisty personality.

Yan Hao pulled the injectors away and lifted them before her eyes to see. "Is this how you treat someone who saved your life?"

Realising that Yan Hao wasn't groping her or anything, Xiu Bingbing's face turned even redder and she stumbled, "I, I, ..."

Seeing her embarrassment, Yan Hao had an idea and wanted to tease her a little bit. He sat up a smug grin and said, "'I' what? 'I always think of perverted thoughts first.' Is that what you wanted to say?"

Xiu Bingbing became fl.u.s.tered and her gaze dashed left and right. "No. No~. That's not what I wanted to say. I, I wanted to say that I'm so-" she said and took a deep breath before she added, "I'm sorry."

Yan Had gave a slight nod with a smile and said, "Next up would be the compensation."

Xiu Bingbing blinked at him and asked, "A compensation?"

"I'm not a saint. I didn't help you because of the goodness in my heart," explained Yan Hao and silently thought, "I already took the Abyss Wolf King's coins as compensation and wouldn't really need anything from her. But let's see where this goes."

"Oh, ahm…" she said and knitted her eyebrows. Her hand slid down her tender tights and fondled the empty coin sockets in the straps. "I'm sorry, but all coins I had are gone."

"Gone? What happened?" asked Yan Hao.

"I... I don't want to talk about it," she said as she turned her head away. Suddenly, an idea came to her mind and she cheerfully suggested in hope, "But I can cook for you. I'm a good cook."

"Okay, deal. How about now?" suggested Yan Hao.

"Yes~!" Xiu Bingbing cheerfully replied and smiled over both ears.

Her smile was so cheerful and warm that Yan Hao couldn't help himself but to smile too. It sent his heart a-thump and melted the remaining frostiness from it. Somehow, he felt happy being with her.

Xiu Bingbing and Yan Hao walked back to Safe Haven and had a little small-talk on the way. They introduced themselves and talked about the Spirit Realm, mostly minor things of no importance.

After a few minutes, they both arrived in Safe Haven and walked through the busy streets toward her primitive wooden house.

They didn't walk for long before Yan Hao saw people throwing glances at them and heard them whisper and giggle.

"She's here again. I wonder how many monsters she killed today. Haha~!"

"What's there to wonder? It has to be zero as always. Haha~!"

"Hahaha~! Bingbing doesn't have the nickname, Lingling, for nothing." (Líng = Zero)

Yan Hao grimly glared at the whispering and laughing people, and the noises of mockery stopped. He lowered his gaze and looked at Xiu Bingbing next to him.

Her joyful smile from earlier was completely gone and an icy expression devoid of feelings paved her face. She completely ignored the laughing people and walked emotionlessly along the street as if nothing happened.
