A Father's Duty

After waking up from a nap, I decided to explore the forest since this is the first time I've been into this forest. Willows don't really bear fruits but the willows in this forest bears marshmallow as their fruits. Aimaru said its fine to eat them as it is and he also told me the things I need to avoid, things that are edible, things that are not suitable to eating, things that are poisonous. Basic stuffs.

I then wandered off to the area. I saw Giraffes with leaves on their necks with apples growing on their necks. I used knocking on one of them and decided to pluck one of them to taste.

"Hmm. I guess the taste goes great the older this girrapple is." I said as this is one of the things that are edible according to Aimaru its just that they are hard to get because girrapples have a keen sense of danger but I have no problems with that since I have knocking in my Arsenal.

I then started wandering deeper and I met new species of vegetables and mushrooms. One of them is called Cabbrots. The leaves of the cabbage has the consistency and hardness of a carrots. I have also seen a spring where the water is the fruit juices which are sticky but are really delicious.

When I reached the center of the forest I noticed the strange atmosphere because there are no animals in the area and the silence of the area makes it suspicious.

"I really need something like observation haki." I complained to myself.

[Then upgrade the system. The system will have a surprise after upgrading.] The system said and I have lots of points since I have removed the restrictions on time.

I thought of getting the random devil fruit seed but I'm reluctant because they cost a lot of points and it takes more than luck to grow a good kind of devil fruit. What if I get Buggy's devil fruit? It would be useless and it has limited amount of duration. I also have a fruit in mind to help Irene give birth safely. I need his devil fruit to ensure the baby's and Irene's safety.

While I'm in deep thought a loud roar was heard and it seems to be approaching me as I woke up from the daze and immediately sidestepped. What I saw made me feel awkward because I saw Winnie the Pooh its just that, he's savage and has sharp teeth. Other than that he has a yellow fur with red spots that act like a jacket and he doesn't wear pants. Pity.

According to Aimaru, this guy is a Honeybear and their blood consists of high-class honey that could be sold for a high-price. I summoned the sword of the wise and parried its claw attack before using warp strike on the Honeybear and I was about to drive the sword down its skull when Aimaru shouted.

"Stop! Stop! Noct stop! Honeybear's an endangered species. I'm here to track its movements because the IGO will pick the Honeybears up and raise them in a biotope to ensure their survival." He said so I stopped my attack and warped in front of it before usin knocking on it.

'Knocking?! and that attack! Is it teleport?! Or is his speed just fast that I can't see him?! He's strong, without a doubt. That's why he can travel everywhere he wants without nothing obstructing him is because he's strong.' Aimaru thought as he was amazed and surprised by my strength.

"*Sigh* fortunately I made it in time. Or that honeybear will die. Honeybears are overhunted by hunters because of its honeyblood that is a high-class ingredient." Aimaru explained as I nodded.

"Then a few syringe of blood won't matter right?" I said as Aimaru nodded. Its better to do it like I said than to kill it since a few liters of blood can easily be regained after a few days.

I then stuck a syringe inside its body before draining its blood and having the system scan it.

[You're in luck, host. That bear's blood is an ingredient that is compatible with your cells.] The system said and it surprised me. I haven't seen a compatible ingredient for my cells after receiving them.

'I see then I guess I'll consume this later.' I thought as Aimaru started checking up on the Honeybear.

"All of its vitals are good. You're pretty good in using knocking." He praised me as I simply smiled. Compared to Teppei or Jiro I'm still miles apart.

By the time we went back to the camping site, it was already getting dark so I started making some food. I gathered herbs and vegetables that would compliment my A5 meat that is from the system. I simply made a simple dish while I made a vegetarian dish for Aimaru. Aimaru is surprised that my food tastes phenomenal but remembered that I am travelling so I need cooking in my skills arsenal to survive in the wild but he never imagined that I reached this kind of level.

"You know, if you built a restaurant in the capital, you would immediately be famous." Aimaru said as he praised my cooking.

"Well, we all have different callings and I have a goal in travelling all over the human world." I said which piqued Aimaru's interest.

"Goal? What is it?" He asked me.

"I guess, ensuring my family's happiness and the thing that I'm searching for will give me more time to spend with my family." I said and Aimaru's admiration for me rose to the max. He was also surprised that I already have a family.

"I see, then you're a family man." He said as I chuckled.

"Yeah. A father of three adorable chipmunks and will soon be four. Well, the youngest is in the making." I joked and Aimaru laughed.

"I wish you luck in achieving your goal, Noct." He sincerely said as I nodded. I then started making beef jerkies with the leftover meat as Aimaru took a phone in his bag and called Toriko to pick me up in here since I don't know the way out and he still have a job in monitoring the Honeybears.

I still didn't use the Honeyblood since I can't think of any ingredient that would perfectly match it. Maybe it would further evolve my cells if I paired it up with the perfect ingredient. Aimaru just finished calling and gave me a thumbs up meaning that Toriko will pick me up tomorrow morning.

"Aimaru, you said the gourmet knights lived in simplicity, why do you own a cellphone?" I asked since its a manmade equipment.

"Oh, this? You misunderstand our docrine. We avoid manmade things with regards to food but we need this basic equipment to communicate with people or members all over the continent." He said as I nodded.

Since I stuffed myself, I simply slept on a tree while being vigilant on the surroundings. Aimaru said he had a spare tent but I'm kind of lazy at the moment, so I declined. I don't like moving much after stuffing myself.

'I guess tomorrow is a good day.' I thought as I slowly fell asleep.
