A Father's Duty

Noctis continued listening to Irene who was telling him all she knows about them.

"The second to the last within the ruling families is the Garland family, they mainly focuses on agricultural businesses. It is said that the land he occupies is the largest of the group. He is also a renowned Fist fighter who has defeated many strong figures in his prime." Noctis nodded at Irene as he digested the information.

"The third to the last is the Vucevic family which is in the assassination trade. If you want someone dead, they will handle it for a price. The price depends on the difficulty of the assassination target. It is also prohibited to target any members of the ruling families or they would be hunted down by everyone. Zeke Vucevic who is the leader of the Blood Brigade, which is the name of the assassin organization, is a crafty individual. For me, someone like him is the most dangerous head between the ruling families. He would stop at nothing as long as it could bring him profit or benefit." Noctis furrowed his eyebrows and pinched the bridge of his nose.

'Hmmm... I guess I can only react when the time comes, I guess.' Noctis thought.

"Next of them is the Green family, led by Andrew Green. Their main market is providing war mercenaries to the surrounding countries. His Son, Kian is a renowned mercenary who decimates the battlefield with sheer strength. His granddaughter Kia on the other hand is a rare and talented mage, she could materialize any weapon she could think of, as long as she knows the exact structure of the weapon. It is said that she could already materialize an artillery construct every day. Of course due to the complexity of the construct, the more energy it would consume." Noctis then thought he had remembered that name somewhere so he searched his memory bank and finally remembered who he is.

"I think I know that Andrew Green guy. I once saved him from being taken by the dark guild, a long time ago. Never knew that guy would make it big." Noctis chuckled.

"Wait, you have met Andrew Green?" Irene asked in surprise.

"Yeah, what of it? He looked like a headless chicken when I first met him though." Noctis said.

"If his organization heard you say that then they would hunt you down." Irene said with a chuckle because she knows what his husband is going to say next.

"They can try." Noctis said with a smirk.

"Oh, dear. Here we go again." Irene rolled her eyes at her husband as she continued.

"Anyway, the third strongest family in the group is the Valenciunas family led by Orego. Their main trade is research and development. They would create things helpful or harmful to human beings. Be it weapons or your everyday essentials. Orego is also the smartest and a person like Old man Leroy so one must not let his guard down around him." Noctis nodded his head.

"The second strongest family of the group is the Doncic family, actually led by a woman named Lily Doncic. Her trade includes all of the underworld stuff. Be it from prostitution, to gangs, gambling houses, money lenders, she owns it all. It is also rumored that she is the most beautiful woman even when she's in her mid-30s." She then stared at her husband for some reaction but he rolled his eyes.

'You are over 400 years old but you look like you're eighteen, and you're going to be jealous of someone in her mid 30s? Gimme a break.' Noctis thought but it seemed like Irene picked up his thoughts as her hands turned into claws and pinched Noctis.

"Who are you calling old?" Irene said with a smile on her face.

"No one, okay!? No one! Now get that off me." Noctis complained to Irene and retaliated as he returned the favor by groping her plump a.s.s and increasing the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e by using knocking on her p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e nerves.

"Nngh. S-stop!" Irene m.o.a.n.e.d and let go of Noctis as she felt the weird sensation from being touched in the back.

Irene panted after Noctis let go and stopped stimulating her p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e nerves. She then glared at Noctis and said the last family on the list.

"Lastly... the strongest family in the group is the Jokic Family, led by William. The main trade of their family is selling weapons to other country.

Their family thrived in places where conflict is rampant. Their family is so strong that in the battlefield, there is a rule where one shouldn't rob the Jokic merchants, one of the kingdoms did rob them and the Jokic family supported the other country now the kingdom is overtaken and it was said that the King who ordered robbing their family became a test subject of a new prototype artillery.

William is also famous as the King of Mercenaries before he retired. Whenever he's on the battlefield it is said that the Goddess of war and victory is always with him." Irene said her piece and Noctis nodded his head once more

"Oh well. You learn something everyday. Time to hit the bed, dear." Noctis said as he hugged Irene and slept.

The next day, Noctis woke up and saw that Irene is already up. When he went down, his eyes bulged when he saw Irene wearing nothing but apron.

"Do you want your breakfast...? A bath...? or... Me...?" Irene said in a seductive voice luring Noctis in.

"Is that even a question?" Noctis had a feast early in the morning.

After their early workout, they started making food for real with Irene clothed properly.

After they finished making boxed lunches and their breakfast, Irene perked her ears up.

"We got company." As soon as she said that, someone came knocking on their door.

Noctis is not scared on whoever they may be so he opened it and saw three people outside their house.

One of them is an early 30s middle aged man who had a blonde hair and a gruff face. He was wearing a cloak and an outfit that adventurers and mercenaries usually wears.

The second is a man younger than him. His figure is not big or too thin but he was packed as hell. His muscles are so compact that his shirt would break if he flexed his muscles. He is also blonde haired like the older man and has features that looks the same with the older man indicating that they were father and son.

The third one is a little kid that looks adorable and all. Compared to the other two, she had a pink hair in contrast with the two who had blonde hair. She had some baby fats on her face but her figure is thin. Her green eyes drew Noctis' attention as this was the first time he had seen someone with a unique eye color.

He recognized the older man from the trio figure as well as his son. They were Andrew Green and his son that he saved when they were taken by the Dark Guild.

"Welcome to my humble abode, what can I do for you?" Noctis said with a smile towards the trio.

As you can see most of the last name I took are from basketball players. Man I miss watching the NBA because sh*tty covid fcked us up pretty bad.

Damn, my hand is itching. I want to play bball but what I'm playing while in quarantine is my balls. It sucks man.
