A Journey Through...

During these 8 years of Ray not making progress in cultivation, he decided he could make improvements in other areas of how he fights as well as other aspects.

He spent the first year mastering his technique for each skill he has, familiarising himself with each one till he could control them as if he was born with each and every single one of them, luckily he also had beasts he got the skills from to give him pointers on how to use them to there highest efficiency, not wasting any extra spirit power when he uses them.

Through the second year, he started to get more requests from his shop for help in getting spirit beasts as he began to gain a lot of fame for how high his success rate is for getting the right spirit ring for those who needed it, his blacksmith work, on the other hand, didn't do as well but that's not to say he doesn't make money, it's just that not a lot of people need a lot of things that could be made from blacksmiths, accept for someone who needed some weapons or hidden weapons, sometimes people needed armour but he didn't get many requests in the few years he opened shop.

In his third year was the time for him to meet Dai Mubai and join Shrek academy, he turned off his illusion, gathered 10 gold coins which now seems like shit all to Ray, suppressed his cultivation to 27 and went to the entrance of Shrek academy, he saw what was a bit of a hefty line of people wanting to go to Shrek.

Of course, though a lot of them were turned down for not meeting standards or just were too old, Ray looked around a spotted Dai Mubai further up the line, about 12 people ahead of him...

When it was Dai Mubai's turn he got in pretty easily as expected of the future leader of the 7 devils, well 8 now that Ray has shown up.

A few of the people were making a ruckus as they failed or their child failed, honestly it was annoying, Ray was getting annoyed to the point that he flared his cultivation of 27(suppressed) and to someone with the no cultivation or someone under 20 levels it sent them running.

It was now Ray's turn, the teacher who was over watching did the regular check, bones, "You meet the requirements of 12, now you show your age please."

Ray decided that he didn't want to make himself seem to insane so he showed two purple rings rather than two black rings, "M-my god, two purple rings! Y-you are a monster hahaha! And you have two top tier spirits amazing! You little monster! Go ahead to the next test, there is another person as well so you may choose to do it with him."

"Thanks teach!", the teacher looked at Ray as walked to the next test and thought, 'It's astounding he has two 1000+ year rings, what luck to have someone like that come to this academy, wish we had more monsters like that come around more, also he has a holy dragon spirit, quite rare but those silver eyes, I can't remember much about... but if memory serves it should be a dragon spirit also...wait...I didn't get his name, oh he wrote it down', the teacher looked at the register on the table and thought, 'Ray Yin, what an odd name, 'Yin', that sounds familiar, isn't there a hidden clan with that name, forget it, it's just a rumour that the head would sometimes blabber on about when he went on his adventures...'

Ray caught up to Dai Mubai as he was walking to the next exam and said, "Hello, you must be the other guy who passed, names, Ray, what about you?", "Aah, a fellow brother, fufu, also handsome, and talented, yes, yes, brother material indeed...", Ray blinked at Mubai's rambling and then laughed at how he's just like the one from the stories, he thought, 'Finally! The story starts, and my plan will be set into motion'.

Ray and Mubai talked for a while and already hit it off, they soon reached the second exam where there were a few other people who reached a spirit power over 20, a queue of people waiting to get their spirit power checked, "Mubai what's your spirit power right now?" Ray asked as it was never specified, "Hm, right now 27, I hope to reach 30 when I reach the age of 13 or maybe in a before! How about you?"(A/N: Not actually sure if this is right, just made this up, but I do know he got his 3rd ring when he turns 13 so yeah, I think I'm fairly accurate, don't get angry if I'm wrong, but can someone tell me in the comments?)

Ray nodded his head and said, "Right now I'm rank 27 too, oh look it's your turn.", Mubai nodded his head, he touched the sphere in front of him and said, "Dai Mubai, rank 27 spirit master!" the teacher watching the exam nodded his head and said, "Very good, as you are over rank 25 you may skip the next exam and go straight to the 4th exam!", Mubai nodded his head and acted like he was superior to those who failed, well he was shown as being a bit arrogant in the original, "Ray, I will wait for you over here!", Ray nodded his head and now it was his turn, he touched the sphere and said, "Ray Yin, rank 27 spirit master!", Ray had to be careful here as he wasn't actually rank 27 but rank 60, and he had to steadily put the amount needed to get away with it.

The teacher nodded his head and said, "You may follow your friend and go the 4th exam as well!", the rest didn't reach over rank 25 so they didn't get to go the the the 4th exam.

PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE

...

Two men sitting down on chairs were waiting for the results of the exam's so far, an owl flies in to gives one of them a piece of paper.

Flander: "Oh, we have two little monsters this year, haha, the skipped towards the 4th exam, Zhao Wuji, why don't you test the two little monsters out?"

Wuji: "Huu, just because two little monsters have shown up I have to do the work?"

Flander: "Why should you care, they have brought in money, so you should go, do your work as the vice-principle for once!"

Wuji: "Fine, don't blame me for bullying them a little, haha..."

Flander: "Whatever just go!"

AREA OF 4TH EXAM

Ray and Mubai were waiting in the area for the 4th exam, the teacher wasn't there yet.

The two were chatting and then they heard someone laugh in the distance, they looked around and saw a big muscular man walk towards them, Ray looked at him and whispered, "Zhao Wuji...", Mubai looked at Ray as he was close enough to hear his whisper, "Hm, Ray you know who that is?", Ray looked at Mubai and said, "Yea, he's the vice-principal of Shrek and...", Mubai was confused, "What?", "He's a spirit saint dude!"

Mubai froze up and looked at the man walking there way and thought, 'Shit, I know this academy is for monsters but if they are expecting us to fight this guy, that is some bullshit, no way, no way!'

Zhao Wuji heard what Ray said and smiled, 'Oh, this person knows who I am, fufu!', he walked up to them and said, "Haha, for the 4th exam you have to show your experience in battle, you will have to fight me for this exam!".

Ray and Mubai looked at each other, sighed and said, "Shit!!"

Zhao Wuji smiled even more at that remark and said, "Get in a position we will now START!!"
