A Journey Through...

The next day Ray was busy contemplating how he would go about getting his parents to let him leave the clan for some 'outdoor training', but considering he's still just six that possibility is gonna have to go down the drain...then again the plot to the story doesn't start for quite a few years so he didn't have to rush anything yet, he could always go out in a few years...

He decided to go ask them, maybe make a deal...yeah that sounds like a plan...

Later that day when he was eating with his parents he stopped and looked at both of them and said, "Hey dad I got something to ask you!", "Oh, ask away!" he said.

Ray: "Okay, in a few years I wanna leave the clan for a while and go for my own training!" He said slowly so his parents could digest what he said, "Haha, nice joke sweety, for a second there I thought you were serious haha...", his mother chuckled at what he said, believing it to just be a joke that he said; his father, on the other hand, stayed quiet for a moment before saying, "Sigh...son, why and when, give me a serious reason to believe, you can't just say that you want to leave soon, I mean we know your really talented for your age but you do realise your six?!" His father said this with the utmost seriousness and slight sarcasm, but when his mother heard that she said, "Eeh!!! You're serious!! NONONO you can't leave, I mean do you even know what you're saying, your SIX!!! You shouldn't be having these thoughts at this tender age!!!?", Ray stayed quiet for a moment before saying, "I thought about this seriously and yes I have chosen when I want to leave, 3 years from now.", "Hmm...3 years...you've said when now tell me why?" his father asked, "Being here at the clan is great and all but...", "But what?" his father wanting to know, "The clan is small within the world dad, it won't let me experience what the world's like, in fact, it's more of a barrier holding me back, it's...how do I say this...too safe, yeah safe for me to really reach my potential and make a real living out of life than to stay here for all my life I would rather want to experience exploring around the place, witnessing the cool things that it can offer and let me have. That is why I want to leave."

The room was quiet once Ray finished his sentence, so quiet in fact that you could hear the subtle wind against the windows, clashing against each other...but this uncomfortable quietness can't stay forever as his father said, "That...answer was quite m.a.t.u.r.e and something I didn't think of you to say...", before he could continue he was interjected by his wife, "HEY! Don't just ignore me, I deserve to have a say in this and my say is no!", But she was ignored and Ray's father continued, "As I was saying, I see no reason why I shouldn't let you leave but before that, I want to give you a challenge."

Ray looked at his father and asked, "What sort of challenge?", "The challenge is that before you turn 9, you have to have the cultivation of rank 30, do you accept?", Ray stayed quiet and was inwardly thinking, 'HAHAHA! YES! I got him to let me go and rank 30 pfft I'm pretty sure with the way I'm going I could get much higher, maybe even rank 40 with the right plan!", Ray then said, "I accept!"

Ray's father looked like he was serious but then quickly changed into a slight smirk and said, "Very well, you can't back out of this, as a man you have accepted and must uphold to this!", "Yes!" Ray said.

Ray's father didn't know but he was being pulled into a trap, the irony here is that he thought that he was doing the same to his son and was inwardly thinking, "HAHAHA I'm sorry my son but you can't just leave so soon, you may have a monstrous talent but that doesn't mean you could reach that within more than 2 years, heck you literally awakened your spirits a couple of weeks ago, there is no way for you to do this and now that you've agreed and fallen into my trap...once you've failed I will not gain an earful from your mother and you will have stay for even longer before you have the right to actually leave HAHAHA!!!"

Once Ray got back to his room he decided to ask [Ridley] to calculate how long it would take him to reach Rank 30, "Hey [Ridley] can you calculate how long it would take for me to reach rank 30 with my current speed?", "Certainly Ray...Ding!...I would take 7 months from now to reach rank 30 with your current technique used and speed!"

Ray: "I see...wait...the f.u.c.k, I thought it would take at least a year, why's it so quick?!?!", Ray was immensely confused on why he could reach that rank so quickly and was worried he was going to fast but [Ridley] stopped his worrying with this, "Ray doesn't need to be alarmed and worried by this, your mental strength and spirits make it so you will remain in stable conditions even if you could cultivate even faster."

"Phew...that's good then, tomorrow I can start my seclusion and try to get really in tune with my control over the elements!"
