Lexi is holding her bag tightly that she can feel that she can rip through the leather skin. And Alexander is correct, she is just an inch in throwing her bag to his smiling face. He keeps smiling and then serious then smiles again. So annoying. She admits that she did not read everything because she was so sure before that she can do anything and even devote herself to the company because of the salary. That was before the announcement of the new owner.

Alexander slowly moves to the table and hands over Lexi's contract. It was already highlighted for her.

"Employee can't resign or be terminated for 5 years. In an event, that the employee needs to be removed from the position, she will need to pay the company her salary for 5 years."

Her salary for 5 years?! That is an absurb amount of amount and and her savings don't even measure to 5 years of her salary now. Ooohhh! This man is testing her patience.

She is ready to attack Alexander when she saw him looking at her intently.

"My mother had a stroke. I need to flew to the US the same day you went home. I gave you time to think about us. I didn't know that you hate me this much that you would rather go back to a low paying job than to work with me." She can see pain etch on his face. "I love you Lexi. I will do anything for you to be safe."

Lexi can't breath. He still loves her?! How? Why? Lexi bowed her head. For all the nights she spent crying and fearing for her and Carl.. for the days that she can she her mother worrying about her sanity...This will not be patched up because of his confession of love. She can't be with him. She wants a normal life.

"I doubt that." Lexi lifted her head and Alexander dashes to her and hugs her. Just seeing her tear stained face rips his heart apart.

"Don't cry. I want you to stay with me. Please stay with me." He kisses her hair and filled his nose with her lavender sent.

Lexi laughed. "Do you even imagine the pain you put me through?! Now you want me to stay with you?!...I will stay because I can't pay the contract. I will stay as your employee. But not as your fiancee."

She digs to her bag and threw the ring to his c.h.e.s.t. "You don't know what you did to me." She whispers and leaves.
