A Trainer's Tale: Can He Resist A Pokemon's Charm!?

Chapter 15 - Training, Training, and More Training! (2)

Being called by the teacher, Jeid and Lucas went towards the mat where their classmates were fighting just a few minutes ago.

"Okay, you kids are not allowed to land a heavy blow to your peers. If I see that you did and it was intentional, you're gonna be suspended, got it?" he said sternly.

It was the rules that has been placed, so that kids won't hurt each other during this sparring. This is a sparring, not a full-blown brawl after all.

Jeid and Lucas nodded at his words and prepared their battle stances. Their stance was full of openings that made it obvious they were amateurs.

Lucas put his left leg forward and raised his hands in a boxing position. His left hand is raised above his brow while his right hand is placed at shoulder length.

Jeid, on the other hand, faced sideways and raised his hands that are formed into fists. They both didn't move an inch, waiting for the teacher to say the go signal.

Seeing that his students ready for the sparring match, the teacher raised his hand up and brought it down, like he was cutting the air. He said,

"FIGHT!"

When Lucas heard this signal, he immediately ran towards Jeid and performed a very easy to read straight punch with his right hand.

Jeid saw this, and immediately changed its direction, by his arms in front of him and swiping it sideways.

Even though he was blocked, Lucas continued to throw punches at him that Jeid just brushed off using his arms. It was really easy to do it since Lucas is only aiming for his face.

'I wonder what this guy's problem is with my face?' he thought while blocking Lucas's attacks.

A few minutes passed, Jeid is getting annoyed at this whole thing and if it wasn't for his ability [Creator's Body] his arms would have been sore by now.

It seems like Lucas also got impatient and, like the amateur he was, he threw a double straight punch aimed at Jeid's face. Jeid just sighed internally and thought,

'Even though I'm an amateur myself, I know for a fact that this attack would lead you invulnerable to the opponent's attacks.'

He then brought down his hands and waited for this strike to come. The peanut gallery who is watching this match gasped in amazement. They waited, with bated breaths, for Lucas's strike to land. Some boys even thought that he deserved it.

Because, ever since 2 years ago, Jeid has been popular with the girls in their class. Although some were trying to avoid him, due to their parent's instructions, some would secretly approach him when there is a special occasion like Valen-what-s*** Day and give him a bunch of chocolates. Which he shared with Aira and their keeps. And so, that day became Pichu's and Selena's favorite day.

(A/N: Yeah, yeah, the Author-san is being bitter. From what I experienced after a few years of being single, April Fools is the next big occasion after New Year)

A few moments later, Lucas's strike arrived, inches away from hitting Jeid squarely on the face. But, Jeid raised his arms and swiped it away again. This time, after swiping Lucas's strike away, he continued his hand's motion and upper arm. He did this on the other strike as well, leaving Lucas grunting while trying to escape from his grip.

Jeid didn't let him go, however. Jeid just lifted him up with relative ease and spun. Using the centrifugal force of his spin, Jeid then let go of Lucas's body. Due to this, Lucas was blown away for a few meters, before being caught by their teacher. His teacher already saw this move coming, so he made eye contact with Jeid, telling him to send the boy towards him.

After catching the disoriented Lucas, he raised his free hand and declared,

"It's Jeid's win!"

He then proceeded to take Lucas to the infirmary and told Jeid to facilitate the sparring matches, until he returns.

"Alright, let's start with you, Jericho and Ivan!" he said out loud.

A few minutes like that passed and their practice sessions finally came to a close. The teacher, who returned after taking Lucas to the infirmary, immediately told them to return to their room as the class was dismissed. He led the way towards the room while the children followed.

Aira, who had experienced a sparring match earlier, is skipping happily while holding Jeid's hand. Similar to what eevee often do, she 'asked' for Jeid's praise when she won.

Jeid just looked at the skipping Aira with a wry smile while thinking,

'She's like the human version of eevee. When she did something she thinks is great, she would look at me with puppy eyes.'

He just sighed in defeat and decided to just praise them if they want to receive praise. Besides, they are cute! How can he resist that?

While Jeid and Aira are immersed in their own thoughts, they didn't notice the weird stares that the whole class is giving them. It looks like their 'strangeness' went up to a whole new level, in their classmate's eyes.

Dawn, on the other hand, is looking at Jeid and Aira enviously. Specifically, she is looking at their connected hands.

'It would be nice to be like that with Jeid too~' she thought. She sighed a bit, but then had another thought that crossed her mind.

'Maybe we'll be able to do that, once we're closer!' she thought positively.

After reaching their room, regular classes continued. There is Math, English, History, Survival Tips, Pokeology and etc.

Although the kids had some misgivings about these many hard subjects being taught to them, they never complained after 2 years of studying at this PokeSchool. Their parents told them that it would prove to be quite a useful knowledge when they grow up, so they diligently listened to their teacher's lessons.

After class, Jeid, Aira, and Dawn started to head home together. Lucas, who got beaten by Jeid, was looking at them with fire in his eyes.

'I will definitely defeat you and save my sister from you!' he thought childishly. Although, in all honesty, he is just shy to approach them, to tell them that he wanted to be friends with them like his sister. He is now just trying to hide his embarrassment, by thinking that what he is doing is for a right cause.

Jeid and the others didn't notice this. They just went out of the school gate leisurely, while talking about when would they meet up to start their training.

•~•~•~•~•~•

Well, this is how I will portray Lucas in this novel. A hard-headed type of guy that wouldn't admit or say something so embarrassing even if it would be the death of him.

After Jeid defeated him, he already acknowledges him as someone stronger. And, I wouldn't portray him as his rival. Let's just say that, he will be one of those stubborn brother-in-laws that don't want their sisters to be taken away just yet! Hahahaha
