A Trainer's Tale: Can He Resist A Pokemon's Charm!?

Chapter 6 - Daily Life in Celestic Town (1)

\\~~In the living room of Grandma Carol's House~~//

Jeid is sitting on the sofa while watching some TV shows, with Aira on his l.a.p, of course. It has been her newfound favourite spot, after she became close to Jeid.

She wouldn't separate from him wherever he go. It's like Jeid had sprouted a new tail, a cute tail, that is.

They are both watching educational videos about how to raise pokemon, a kid's show to be precise. More like, Jeid is the only one watching.

Aira is in her own little world, her feet dangling, while swinging up and down, showing that she is having the time of her life right now.

The two aren't talking with each other, seemingly having a tacit understanding. They just stayed quite, and enjoyed the atmosphere they are in.

‹Alright, little trainers! I am going to introduce you to a guest that came to teach you some tips about raising your own pokemon! Do you want to know who this guest is, kids?› asked the host of the show.

Aira and Jeid didn't answer to this query though. The former, being immersed in her own little world, while the latter doesn't have much expectation.

'This is a show for kids, who would be happy to be a guest in it. No doubt, it would be someone that is not so important,' Jeid thought.

But that was immediately shut down by the next words of the host.

‹Kids, please welcome… Professor Samuel Oak from Pallet Town!›

"EEHHHH!!!???" Jeid shouted. He was so surprised that he even tightened his arms that are hugging the daydreaming Aira.

"Eh? Wha-What happened Onii-chan!? Why did you suddenly shout like that!?" asked Aira.

Grandma Carol, who is at the kitchen, preparing their lunch, also bolted out and shouted,

"What happened, you two? Is something wrong!?"

"Ah, n-no Grandma Carol. I was just surprised that a famous professor from Pallet Town decided to become a guest at a kid's show that we are watching, look!" Jeid said as he pointed towards the large, flat screen, TV.

Hearing his words, Grandma Carol looked at the TV with a puzzled expression. When she saw who the person was, her mouth formed an 'O' shape and said,

"Isn't that Samuel Oak? He's been here in Sinnoh!" shouted Grandma Carol.

Her words, in turn, shocked Jeid.

'What!? Professor Oak has been here!? But how? Didn't he just traveled on foot? Unlike Ash who boarded sh.i.p.s to go to other places, Professor Oak just traveled on land. Wait, don't tell me…'

To confirm if his theory is right, he asked,

"Grandma Carol, did Professor Oak travel to get here by boarding on a ship?"

"No, he didn't. At least, no one spotted him going down from any ship. He is quite a famous person since he is a strong trainer, especially his Charizard. So, if he really boarded a ship, then news would've came out pretty fast. Why do you ask, Jeid?" Grandma Carol replied, puzzled by the sudden question.

"Th-Then, has anyone tried to trek the mountain range that Mt. Coronet belong to?" he asked again.

"Hmm? What a weird question, Jeid. Yes, there has been a lot who tried to travel and see what's beyond that mountainous path, but only a few returned. They can't use a flying pokemon, since there are stong cold winds that are coming from the south, so they climb the mountain to check what is beyond this mountain range," Grandma Carol answered.

'Maybe… maybe there is a way through this mountain to go to Kanto Region? But there is still that way of going to Kanto through a riding a ship. I'll uncover this mystery if I have enough strength to do it. I just want to know how Professor Oak traveled from Kanto, Jhoto and then Sinnoh Region. He didn't go to Hoenn, so there's probably a way to go here to there,' he thought.

While he was deep in thought, Grandma Carol just looked at him weirdly, while Aira took his hand and puts it on top of her head. It seems like she wants him to continue spoiling her.

Jeid just reciprocated and hugged her while patting her head. This girl can be handy at times.

Knowing that there is nothing wrong, Grandma Carol got back to cooking and left the two kids to watch the show.

‹Hello there, kids. I am a professor from Kanto, and I am here to teach you about the basics of how to become a pokemon trainer. First, if you want to become a trainer, then you need to know about this instrument, the pokeball.› said Professor Oak calmly.

‹This pokeball here is a device that is used to capture a pokemon. Because of our technology, we upgraded this device and it no longer puts the pokemon into a state of suspended animation. It now brings the pokemon into a pocket dimension, designed to resemble their natural habitats. To use it, you have to press it once to make it turn into its original size. Press it twice to return it back into a pocket size version. If you want to catch a pokemon with it, you have to throw it accurately, hitting the button with the pokemon's body. This will activate the capturing function. And if you want to release it, press the button once in its original size and throw it up in the air!› said Professor Oak said.*

(A/N: This will be how to use the dang pokeballs in this fanfic. If I haven't stressed it enough, this is 'how' it would be used in 'this fanfic'. It has no relation with other fanfics or how to use it in the anime/manga, because it wasn't specified. I would be mentioning some infos like this one every once in a while. Just to add some more detail about this world.)

'So it works like that. I never knew how to use this thing. In the games, you just have to click on the pokeball, click 'use', and that's it!' Jeid thought.

'This just proves that the real thing is different that the game. Even the game that I created is kinda different to this one. Also, the egg that I put in the incubator would probably take some time to hatch, I should try to talk to it at times,' thought Jeid.

The egg that the God left him as a gift was placed in an incubator, due to Grandma Carol's advise. While the other abilities he got? He has been experimenting on how it works.

Before anyone could ask, let me clear some of the questions you might say about this chapter.

Professor Samuel Oak, who had gone to a journey when he was young, was only seen in three regions. Those regions being; Kanto, Jhoto, and Sinnoh.

Jeid concluded that he only travelled by foot, or using his pokemon as a ride, since Jhoto and Kanto are just nearby. Also, the first regions of the Pokemon series were referenced to the major regions of Japan. So, he concluded that these three are actually close.

Anyway, this is the idea in my fanfic, so don't reference on the main series too much.
