A Trainer's Tale: Can He Resist A Pokemon's Charm!?

Days passed, Jeid and Aira are still doing their daily routines. Sometimes, they would come with Grandma Carol, to pick up some berries, and take care of some stray baby pokemon.

During these 2 months that passed, it is already the Fairy month. This month, Aira's birthday will be celebrated.

His birthday, at least that was the date that has been registered by Grandma Carol, was celebrated at the 3rd day of the Dragon month, two months ago.

Months in this world were named after the 18 known types. Namely; Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy.

Right now, it is the year 3001, and the Kanto League is now ongoing. After 9 years, about the same time Aira and Jeid would start their journey, after he missed out one more, Kanto League would start again. A perfect timing, is what he thought.

But, for now, they need to learn as much as possible. It's better to be safe than sorry, after all.

For today, he decided to take a break from all the learning spree. He wants to find something that would make Aira happy.

\\~~At the Shmitt Residence's Garden~~//

A young boy can be seen walking to and fro while his hands are on a thinking position, seemingly thinking about something.

This young boy is Jeid, who is thinking about what he should prepare as a gift for Aira. He is walking back and forth because he can't think of anything to gift her that would make her happy.

While he is absentmindedly repeating his actions, he was greeted by two little creatures that are watching him from a distance.

"Pi! Pichu?" said a tiny, mouse-like creature. It has a yellow coloration in its fur, with its ears having a black colored tip and a red, blush-on-like thing in its cheeks. It raised its cute little hand in greeting, before tilting its head to the side.

While the yellow, mouse-like creature, seems to be just confused, the other one seems to be unhappy by the fact that Jeid keeps ignoring them.

"Iggly! Iggly, Igglybuff!" it said, as it harrumphed angrily.

This cute little creature is shaped like a ball. It has three bump-like tufts of hair in its head, pink fur, and a weird swirl in its forehead.

Noticing the two pokemon who called out to him, he bent down and picked them up. After picking them up, he snuggled with them, giving them a tight hug.

"Hello, Pichu and Igglybuff. Are you here to play with us again?" Jeid asked.

Yes, these two creatures were the baby pokemon, Pichu and Igglybuff.

These two are the little playmates that Jeid and Aira met 3 days ago. It seems that they are both newborns that got lost on their way home. Ever since they met, these two fur balls would come and visit to play with them all day.

Since Jeid was once a developer of a pokemon game, he had some knowledge about pokemon grooming and what needs to be fed to this two younglings.

He had a difficult start, though. He fumbled a few times on the cooking process, taking a few tries before he got used to it.

Taking out a yellow and pink cube, he gave it to the two fur balls. The two shouted in a cute voice, seemingly thanking him.

Jeid just smiled while cradling the two baby pokemon. Suddenly, as if he had received an epiphany, he opened his eyes wide.

"That's it!" he bellowed.

Startled by his sudden burst of excitement, the two little fur balls in his arms flinched in surprise. After recovering from their intitial shock, they both looked at Jeid in anger. Igglybuff even have a pout on her face while she is looking at Jeid hatefully.

Noticing their angry glares, he quickly tried to apologize.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you two," Jeid said, as he quickly took out more pokecubes to bribe… no, apologize to them.

He then stared at them, who is currently relishing in their tasty meal, and said,

"You guys don't have parents to take care of you?" he asked. He have a hunch, but he wants to ask them first to confirm if his suspicions are correct.

When they heard his question, as if they are humans who understand our language, they nodded in affirmation.

"Haaa, as I thought. I was wondering why you two does not go home even though it's already sun down. Normally, juveniles tend to go home early. I also noticed that when you guys come here, you always look like you are hungry," Jeid said.

The two just looked at him with pitiful eyes. It seems like they misunderstood his words. They might be thinking that he and Aira would stop playing with them.

Seeing they reaction, he just hugged them for a while and said,

"No, I will always play with you. I'm not asking you about it because I will leave you after knowing that I was right. I just want to know that because I want to confirm if there's anyone I should talk to about you being our keep," Jeid explained.

Yes, that was what Jeid thought as a present for Aira. Ever since meeting this two little fur balls, he fell in love with their cuteness. It was then that he read something about this keep.

Keep is what people call the pokemon when they are being taken care of by a person, who doesn't have their trainer's license.

The pokemon would be captured by a pokeball of a trainer, can be a friend or family, that would 'keep' this certain pokemon for the time being. It can be passed onto the person who took care of them, after he receive his trainer's license.

Hearing his words, the two fur balls got excited. They made some noises, seemingly agreeing with his proposal.

"Chu! Pi, Pichu!" cried Pichu.

"Iggly, Iggly, Igglybuff!" cried Igglybuff.

Hearing their positive replies, at least that's how it seems like, he smiled from ear to ear and started to sprint towards the house. He wanted to go to Grandma Carol and borrow her pokeballs and 'keep' these two with them.

When he entered the house, he was surprised to see a person that looked a lot like Aira, standing in front of him.

She has blonde hair, gray eyes, and a hairstyle that matches with Aira's hairstyle. However, there is a slight difference in both their hair styles. The unknown girl have bangs that cover the left side of her face.

Seeing Jeid, she had a look of surprise and said,

"Are you the one who stole my sister from me!?"
