Some say that Death is the worst possible event that one might experience. Some say that causing Death will never heal the regret and consequences one might face with such a crime. However, some have never experienced the feeling, the grief and the sorrow that death truly causes.

The worst ache a human heart can experience, is when all three happen in the same place. In the cube of stone, Rina was the victim who loved nothing more than the feeling of life and close friends to help her live it to the fullest. Osiris was nothing more than a culprit, murderer, and a broken soul in disrepair. Atlas, however, was the one who felt his heart ache the most. Its as if his entire world was shattered to a million pieces, and he realized how much Rina's life truly meant to him.

As Rina's heart was pierced by the yellow spear, Calvin and Selvis instantly began to hustle themselves off the ground in hopes of doing whatever they could. That is, until Mooks enlarged his paws, stopping them dead in their tracks by the tips of their shoes.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Calvin yelled, trying to wiggle himself out of Mooks's beastly grip.

"This isn't the same as Violet!" Mooks howled back, "You had a chance to do something before, and you didn't.. Now, this isn't your fight… It's his!" Mooks motioned Calvins attention onto Atlas.

Calvin wanted to argue back, he wanted to step in, he wanted to help, but he knew that Mooks was right. He knew that no matter what happens, the spear has already gone through Rina's heart like a needle through a silent piece of cloth.

"BLASPHEMY!" Selvis growled in a deep voice, "No matter who it is, Law or not. That's a student! I'm not stepping down!"

Mooks let go of Selvis's shoe, "Do as you please, but you're already too late."

Selvis turned back around, seeing Atlas holding Rina's dieing body in his arms like a mother holding her child. Even from so far away, Atlas's tears were dropping onto Rina's hands like tiny droplets of rain after a storm. The final straw holding him together finally broke, and he gently set Rina onto the smooth stone below him.

Osiris's spear disappeared from Rina's c.h.e.s.t, letting the blood escape her body in a small, quiet stream of red. Her eyes wanted nothing more but to see her sister one last time, and to confess everything and anything to anyone, but her mouth wouldn't allow the words to form. Her skin turned pale and cold, but her heart remained soft and warm like a candle on its last moments before fading.

Rina gripped Atlas's hand with all the strength she had left, signaling for him to stay beside her. All she wanted was to say the last three words lingering in her mind, she wanted Atlas to hear them, she wanted the strength to say it, but her grip softened, and her arm fell back down to the floor.

The last thing Atlas remembered was seeing Rina's head fall back down to the ground. After that, his mind went blank, and a different part of him took over.

Atlas stood back up in a slow manner, the tears around his eyes drying up into shades of glowing white. His eyes went completely blank, with a small border of darkness around the edges. His arms, legs, and neck began to form some sort of marks around them. They were quite similar to the ones on Calvin's neck, except for their translucent white color. His face grew expressionless, but still contained the dry tears flowing down his cheek. A white miasma started surfacing the air around him, and the sheer presence of his being became a challenge to withstand.

Selvis had no words for what he was seeing, stopping dead in his tracks and even taking a few steps back out of safety. "It… It can't be."

Mooks shook Calvin with his paw to wake him from whatever daydreaming episode he was in, "Get ready. You need to stop him before the boy dies too."

Clavin glared back at Mooks, his mind was still shaken by what it was seeing, but he agreed with a nervous nod.

Osiris on the other hand, was the only one not even slightly concerned with the situation. Staring back at Atlas, Osiris barked with excitement. "Now this is more like it! The Law of Mentalism finally showing its true form!" Osiris quickly made four more brightly thin spears, flinging them all at once towards Atlas's head.

Without even moving, Atlas kept his gaze on Osiris like a beast about to pounce on its prey. The spears flew through the air at lightning speed, simply breaking into pieces like shards of glass the second they made contact with Atlas's skin.

However, Osiris expected such an outcome, now attempting to purge the blood on Atlas's cheek from the previous wound. "Corrupt." Osiris shifted his finger towards Atlas's wound, attempting to curse his soul with the blood that runs through him.

Now, Osiris finally began to get nervous as the wound on Atlas's cheek completely healed itself. Osiris growled with caution and anger, sending more and more spears flying directly at Atlas.

Just as he predicted, they did absolutely nothing but shatter and drain his energy. The next spear however, started to form right on top of Rina's body on the ground. Osiris knew that if he couldn't get to Atlas, further torturing Rina's body would be more than enough to satisfy him.

Osiris flung his hand in the air, and just as he was about to motion it downward for the spear to further pierce her heart, Atlas immediately grabbed hold of Osiris's neck like a doll on display. Atlas's speed was faster than ever before, nearly shifting through time itself, and completely obsolete to human vision.

Osiris struggled and coughed while Atlas lifted him off the ground with one hand, "All is One, and One is All." Atlas said in a god-like voice.

Being so close to Atlas, Osiris could see there was no humanity left in Atlas's eyes of nothingness. It's as if he was staring into an empty abyss, filled with questions without answers and life without meaning. The only humanity left in Atlas were the dry tears of white, splitting his cheeks into two sides like a slice down the middle.

The grip Atlas had around Osiris's neck got tighter, and Osiris wasn't able to regenerate any lost strength for reasons he was unaware of. "You-" Osiris coughed, struggling to breath. "You'll pay… I'll come back again, and I'll kill you and your mother!"

"Atlas dug his fingers into Osiris's pale skin, "No… A broken soul has no right to take life. Your existence is no more." Atlas paused, and released a spell that even Selvis has never heard of, "Death's Grasp."

Immediately, and without an explanation, Osiris's skin, clothes, and his entire soul began to fall apart like stone turned into sand. It was slow, but painless.

His legs were the first to turn into specs of fallen dust, followed by his torso, and then his hands that struggled against Atlas's grip. Right before his head was gone as well, Osiris managed to muster out a few last words for Atlas to hopefully hear, "Once you kill me, you'll just want to kill more. That's how life works, everyone is a killer in their heart!"

Atlas stopped the spell, only holding onto Osiris's head at this point, "You are wrong. Every life is precious. Every life has meaning. But a life that doesn't treasure the lives of others, is a life that shall be forgotten, and be taken by death," Atlas continued the spell, seeing the hopeless, angered face of Osiris vanish into thin air.

From afar, Calvin finally got close enough to Atlas to be able to end this once and for all. Stripping his outer robes, and pointing his palm directly towards Atlas's glowing body, Calvin unleashed his true strength, "ABSOLUTE CANCEL!" The marks around his neck have never radiated as much force and pressure ever before. The tension around his skin had more heat than the earth's outer core, pulsing beats of dark corruption around him.

The colossal room they were in instantly rose up in a blaring white light, blinding anyone that dared to lock eyes with it. Atlas turned around, but it was far too late to avoid the disturbance from the spell. The light blocked any sort of vision one might have, slowly vanishing as Calvin began to lose breath from his own spell.

Calvin's breaths became rapid, and the marks around his neck subsided to their normal tattoo-like appearance. "Mooks!" Calvin yelled, out of breath. "Go get Atlas." He yelled again as he saw Atlas's body return back to normal, falling to the floor without any resistance.

As Mooks rushed to Atlas, Calvin and Selvis ran as fast as they could towards Rina's body on the ground. Her left hand was covering her wound on her c.h.e.s.t, and her right laid steady on the floor as if she was trying not to let go of someone. Her eyes had dry tears flowing down the side of her face, and her skin was as pale as a skeleton.

Calvin slid across the ground, feeling Rina's blood soak the bottom of his kneecaps. "NO! No! No." He whimpered, trying his best to scout his pockets for the only item he thought he'd never have to use.

"PRIDE!" Selvis called out, tossing Calvin's robes over to him.

Calvin caught them with a swift motion of his right hand, reaching into the front pocket and pulling out the infamous spirit star he mentioned to everyone before they left.

The magnificent glow of the triangle was like a crystal trenched in the depths of a long lost cave. He gently placed the spirit star onto Rina's c.h.e.s.t, allowing it to naturally melt into her wound and skin as if it was meant to be there.

Seconds went by longer than they appeared with nothing happening, that is, until a silent, almost undetectable thud was heard. Another followed right after, getting louder and louder with each being faster than the previous. The beating came from Rina's pierced heart.

Calvin gently took her left hand away from where the wound was, seeing the injury completely gone from existence. Although her heart started beating once more, she didn't show any signs of waking, but then, a sudden raindrop fell directly on her c.h.e.s.t. It wasn't a tear, nor was it the remaining anticipation Calvin had left within him. It was an actual raindrop.

When Osiris's soul was finally brought to decree, the cube of stone slowly began to deteriorate into the open air outside of it. The walls started to crack, the floor began to slowly shake, and the ceiling began to show the light from the outdoors. The light wasn't bright, but rather a dimly lit grey that occupied the weather on a stormy day.

Outside, rain had finally come, and the madness was beginning to wash away into infinite streams of unforgettable memories.

"TSSHHUUUUHH!" Rina instantly pounced up with a galloping breath of air. Her skin was beginning to gain back its circulation, and her mind was doing it's best to remember everything. "WHERE'S ATLAS!" Rina yelled without even letting Calvin React to her revival.

Calvin didn't answer, remaining silent, and finally gaining back his long forgotten smile. "You're. Alive…" He whispered to himself, and then to her. "The spirit star actually worked…" Calvin seemed more confused than Rina.

"Listen." Rina said, her voice sounding faint and weak while her mind became dizzy and uncoordinated. "There's something. I need to tell Atlas." She coughed, falling into Calvin's arms and losing her consciousness.

Calvin felt her skin begin to warm as more droplets of rain fell from the sky above. He picked her up, handing her to Selvis, "Call the medical, get everyone here as soon as possible." Calvin ordered the Grandmaster, "I need to go find Alastor and the others," The smile on his face faded into a concerned, powerful look.

Selvis took Rina with proper care, giving Calvin a look of shared agreement, "Off Academy ground, I listen to you." Selvis turned around, "But on Academy grounds, you listen to me."

Calvin dashed off into an unexplored direction, while Mooks propped Atlas onto his back and followed Selvis to the outdoors.

...

Soon enough, Calvin found Alastor with Cartuja and Leo on both of his shoulders, walking slowly and carefree.

"Where have you been?" Calvin demanded, stopping Alastor dead in his tracks.

"Me?" Alastor asked sarcastically with a devious grin, "Well, unfortunately, we ran into a tall man wielding water magic. Fortunately, Leo here discovered a way to fuse water and fire into a catastrophic, yet marvelous spell. At a price, of course." He motioned towards Leo's arms, covered in cuts and 2nd degree burns.

"What about smartass?" Calvin remained cautious.

"He was a smartass." Alastor happily answered. "You know me, Calvin Pride. I wouldn't hurt a soul." Alastor nearly laughed from his own joke.

Calvin huffed his anger behind him, taking Leo from Alastor, and pursuing his way into hopes of a nearby exit.
