“Come with me.”

Suddenly, Pei Siyan came to Jiang Sheng and dragged him away rudely.

Jiang Sheng felt surprised and painful at the same time. But he was pushed into the car before he had any reaction, and Pei Siyan followed him in the back seat right afterwards.

“Drive.”

“Okay, okay.”

Bai Hao in the driver’s seat sighed and responded. He then turned around to take a look at Jiang Sheng.

‘What? Mr. Pei is now taking this guy to the company? Is he afraid of this dude running away? Or, he is afraid that Jiang Xiao would be the next one who dies?”

“Where are you taking me now?” Jiang Sheng pulled his wrist out of Pei Siyan’s hand and asked loudly.

“Shut up.”

What Jiang Sheng got from Pei Siyan was the two-word respond as well as those stone-cold eyes staring at him.

Jiang Sheng had been afraid of Pei Siyan already, and that stare just made the fear grow even bigger. He held himself and wiggled his way all the way to the car door just to stay away from Pei Siyan.

Though he couldn’t really scold Pei Siyan, he could still say whatever he wanted in his own mind.

‘Damn it! You think you can do whatever you like with your handsome face? Well, it looks like a bad temper is all that you get! Plus! It’s not the body’s fault that it looks like the one you love! It is you who found him and bought him home! And now, you are even mad at him? I’m completely speechless right now!’

‘Wait, no. Your flames of fury are burning on me now! Crap! I gotta find a chance to run away from this goddamn a**hole as far as possible.’

“How’s the investigation going?” Pei Siyan asked with a cold tone.

Bai Hao replaced his sassy attitude with seriousness and replied, “He was confirmed dead.”

A layer of cold frost climbed up to Pei Siyan’s face the moment he heard the answer. He clenched his fists so hard. He was clearly trying his best to control his rage.

“But we can’t know whether it was suicide or not.” Bai Hao added.

“How could he possibly commit suicide? How could an optimistic guy like him do that?” Pei Siyan rebutted loudly at once.

“But to be honest, we never really had contact with him personally, right? We don’t really know what happened to him or if he was really optimistic.”

“Wasn’t that the reason why I gave you the mission to send someone to protect him? How the f**k did he protect him? How is he dead now? How?”

Pei Siyan raised his voice at Bai Hao. His eyes turned red and the rage inside him just burst out.

Bai Hao remained silent for that it was his fault and negligence that caused the death of Jiang Sheng.

“You have three days to find out the murderer for me. If you failed, I believe you won’t need me to tell you the consequences.” Pei Siyan squeezed every single word out of his teeth, cold and terrifying.

“I know, Mr. Pei.”

Bai Hao accepted the assignment without any questions.

Jiang Sheng was completely puzzled again. ‘Who’s dead? Who just committed suicide? What were they talking about? Could it be… me? But they were being all mysterious, and I didn’t hear them saying my name. Nah, again, that’s none of my business. I won’t have anything to do with whom they were talking about anyway. I’ll just find an opportunity to use the bathroom so as to run away.’

Jiang Sheng looked outside through the window and tried to find sections and roads he was familiar with. But he couldn’t recognize a thing even after a long time of observation.

‘That’s weird. I can’t recognize any of these sceneries! Where in the world does this guy live? It is completely strange to me.’

“What are you looking at?” The cold sound of Pei Siyan suddenly echoed by Jiang Sheng’s side.

“No, nothing. I am just curious about the look outside.” Jiang Sheng was being perfunctory to avoid Pei Siyan as much as he could.

But somehow, when Jiang Sheng took a closer look at Pei Siyan, he saw sorrow and agony in Pei’s eyes.

Jiang Sheng was stunned and kept on looking at Pei Siyan’s eyes.
