Team 7 is now in a forest jumping trees to trees. Their pace is not that bad and they will surely reach their location in schedule.

But at first though, Kakashi was worried. He's worried that maybe Karl and Mortred couldn't catch up. Because even though how powerful they are, shinobi's training are made for this and maybe it's their first time doing something like this. But all of his worries are gone when he saw they can catch up just fine. At first, Mortred was following them by ground. But after few minutes of observing, she could jump trees to trees now. This surprised not just Kakashi but also Sakura and Naruto. They've been training their whole life for this and yet this girl could just do it just by observing them.

'Now that's a natural born fighter' Kakashi thought at her skills.

Karl on the other hand was in the ground running like a maniac. With legs like wind, he easily followed them underneath with the help of wex. Both showed great skills which surpassed the team 7 expectation about them. with all of this, they no need to worry about the two.

Few Hours Later...

They've been running for many hours now with taking breaks in between them. The sun is slowly setting and night soon will fall. Exhaustion could be seen in their faces since they've been running for hours. Kakashi who saw the exhausted group decided to finally rest for the night.

"Everybody Halt" Kakashi said as he stop in his tracks. Everybody also stop.

"What's wrong Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked.

"It's getting dark. Let's set a camp for now" Kakashi suggested.

Everybody nodded except a certain blonde.

"WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO TAKE REST! WE NEED TO REACH THE VILLAGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! GAARA'S LIFE IS IN DANGER AND HE NEEDS OUR HELP RIGHT NOW!!" Naruto yelled.

'Okay now he's starting to annoy me' Karl thought.

During their travels, Naruto keep telling them to be faster so they'll reach the Village earlier than scheduled.

'I could easily do that but I was considering how slow you are so I'm moving same speed as you' Karl snorted. He want to say it out loud but of course he can't do that. So he kept everything to hims-

"You know your starting to annoy me"

Karl was in deep thought when he heard Mortred say this.

"W-What?" Naruto asked in confusion.

"All this 'I'm gonna save you' and 'I'll never let my friends die' thing is starting to get in my nerves" She just said without a care on the world. Karl was about to intercept when Naruto yelled instead.

"I'M JUST TRYING TO SAVE MY FRIEND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"

"I know. We are quite aware of what this mission is for. But your patience will surely get us killed" She said.

"She's right Naruto. If we keep on charging and charging. We will die before we can even fight" Now it's Kakashi turn.

Naruto just glared at them.

"Ohh so you guys are teaming up on me now huh? Fine!! Suit yourselves" Naruto said as he jumped down and started running away to a direction. Sakura was about to follow him when Kakashi stopped her.

"I'll talk to him. For the meantime, set up the camp camp for us." Kakashi asked.

Sakura nodded at her sensei.

Kakashi jumped down an followed Naruto. Sakura and Mortred then jumped down. Sakura then stared at Karl and Mortred.

"Kakashi-sensei said that we should set the camp first while he talks to Naruto." She said looking kinda worried.

Karl nodded. All of them then started setting the camp in silence. Mortred just stood there looking at the two get some stuffs around and made a campfire. The campfire didn't take that long to make so after they made it, they picked up some log and sat on it. All of them are just stitting there in silence while the sun was completely gone now and the moon replaced it's place. They just sat down there for like 20 minutes or so in complete silence. Seeing nobody want to talks, Karl just asked Sakura.

"Why does he act like that?"

"Huh?" Sakura was confused.

"I mean why Naruto care so much about this Gaara. I mean his the leader of the village that is your ally but why does he act like that?" Karl asked.

Sakura was silent.

" Nevermind. It's fine if you won't tell me. I'm sorry for asking" Karl apologize.

Sakura finally replied to Karl after her lengthy deliberation.

"I know Naruto is sometimes a pain in the neck but please don't hate him because of it. He just went through a lot." She said.

Karl didn't replied and instead waited for her to continue.

"Naruto grow up not knowing what having parents are like. He grows up in an orphanage and was hated by the villagers.... I-Including me" Sakura stuttered in the end.

Karl wondered "Why is he hated?"

"The villagers was hating him because he always pull pranks to anyone. Sometimes he would paint the houses or even the Hokage mountains" She said.

'Now that's hardcore prank' He thought. Karl had already read some books during his free time but he hasn't really know anything yet. He knows a little bit about the villages and history of the elemental nations. He was surprised that Naruto pulled a prank like that.

"Well that's expected right? He pulled pranks to many people which made them hate him" Karl just said.

Naruto shook her head.

"He's already hated even when he was still a baby" She said.

Karl couldn't reply to that and just let out a surprised expression.

"Why the hell would they hate a baby?" Karl asked.

"Because....."

They then heardd footsteps coming in a direction.

"Yo! I see that the campfire was done" Kakashi just said as he smiled behind the mask. Beside him was Naruto staring on the ground. After a while, He came closer to Karl and Mortred whose sitting in the same log.

"I'm sorry about earlier." Naruto apologized.

"Nah It's fine. I know you're just worried." He just said.

"No. You always apologized for the things that is not your fault. You should try to fight back" Naruto said.

"I'm completely fine with words. It doesn't affect me. But this girl beside me don't and she just let out whatever she had in mind" Karl just said. They continued talk about stuffs until the atmosphere got a bit better. After a bit more of talking, Kakashi then suggested.

"Well maybe we should make dinner now. It's getting late" Kakashi said.

"Ohh okay" Mortred just said as leaves then appeared in the ground. After few seconds, the leaves then substituted with something else. A cooking pot and ingredients for cooking inside it.

"Here!" Mortred smiled.

"W-What the hell is that?" Naruto just yelled.

Karl on the other hand just facepalmed.

'We we're suppose to go in the forest and act like we're finding ingredients and then bring this back' Karl thought.

"Ohh right I was not suppose show this" Mortred said as leaves consumed the pot. Karl facepalm and sighed at the same time.

"Just bring it out already. The plan already failed you dumbass" He said.

"I-I'm sorry Karl!" Mortred apologized.

'Did I just expected something from her?' He just thought.

"Well anyways, that's that. I'll cook us dinner now" Karl said as he started readying himself to cook which surprises everyone except Kakashi and Mortred.

"You'll cook something for us?" Sakura asked.

"Yes" Karl just said.

Everybody just talking to each other and while watching him cook. 30 minutes or so, the food was done and served to everyone.

"Thanks for the food" All them enthusiastically said as took a bite in the food that Karl made. pplAnd just like how Mortred and Kakashi surprised to Karl's cooking, all of them didn't expect the food made in a camp. Usually they'd just had to take soldier pills and not properly eat during their missions. They just couldn't help but chow down the food. Few more minutes everyone was done eating and couldn't just stop praising Karl's cooking.

"You're such a good cook Karl. Even the food in top restaurants is not this good" Sakura praised.

"Hmmp.. Even though it's good it can't beat Ichiraku's Ramen" Naruto said as he looked away.

"Yeah right? Ichiraku Ramen is the best!!!" Mortred yelled.

"Huh? You know Ichiraku? " That caught Naruto's interest.

" Yes!! The food there is really good!" She answered.

"I know right! I've been eating there ever since I was a kid but I still can't get enough on the deliciousness of their ramen!" Naruto now enthusiastically answered. Both of them keep talkeing about ramen until Naruto realize his being friendly with the two.

"Hmmp! Just because we both like the same food doesn't mean we're good" Naruto said as he look away.

"What are you a kid?" Sakura said.

Kakashi just laughed at the exchange which made all of them stare at him.

"Haha sorry sorry. It's just nice that everyone seem to get well with each other" The captain said as he smiled.

" Anyways we better sleep now since we need to be early tommorow. We need as much energy as we can so we can finish the journey with less breaks and reach the destination earlier than planned" The captain ordered.

"Okay Kakashi-sensei" Sakura answered.

Sakura then took her sleeping bag and set it up. Naruto did the same too. He doesn't want to delay saving Gaara more. Karl who saw the young ones readying to sleep also told Mortred to rest.

"You should also rest early. Tomorrow's gonna be a nother tiring and long day" Karl said.

Mortred nodded "But how about you?"

"I'm going to ask Kakashi something"

" Oh okay. I'll be going off first then" Mortred said. "Good night!" She said and waved.

" Sweet dreams" He just said.

Mortred then also started laying the sleeping bag she had and started to fell asleep. Karl just stared at the young ones until they totally fall asleep.

"You're not going to sleep?" Kakashi said as he approached Karl.

"Nahh I'm still not sleepy." Karl said as he look at the sleeping assassin. After a brief silence, Karl talked again.

"Kakashi. I wanna ask something"
