Bayek Revolved his Qi, he had been practicing little things like enhancing the senses to see how versatile the worlds Qi could be. Enhancing his hearing and smell. Bayek could hear how deep the Horde went, Smell the scent of rotting death.

"We need to leave now!" Bayek shouted. The group took that as a balls out kill order.

Letting of rounds the team began to drop walkers by there dozens. Cutting a hole in the horde. Advancing through the Horde. back towards the pickup truck.

"April, frag em!" Finn called to her as he laid down cover fire. The horde was moving, Finn thought the frag would stop up the flow enough to give them some breathing room.

Boom!...Boom!...Boom!

"I'm all out! Just rain hell!" Magazines were emptied. Assault riffles were switched to side arms.

Rule number of riding with a group, always leave vehicle doors unlocked and never take the keys. Because you never know when you might die, and it would be a pretty d.i.c.k move to take everyone with you.

"Ahhhhh!" scream carried across the area. Looking around Bayek couldn't See Maggie

"Here, take this and get to the truck. " Bayek handed Finn and Shane the stuff needed to save Otis and Carl. Naturally Shane didn't give a shit Bayek was going to go back, as long as he could save carl, that's all that mattered.

"What about you?" Finn asked

"I can handle myself, but if the girl dies. Rick and his people can't stay at the farm" Bayek explained and started slaughtering walkers to get back to Maggie

"I hope he saves that chick" Finn muttered and kept pushing to the pickup

Bayek's POV

When I got back to Maggie, she was up Standing on top of a military Medical ambulance. fighting for her life with a metal people in hand. Pushing off the ground I leapt to the top the ambulance next to her

"Still think they can be cured?" She looks at me eyes saturated in fear, Her arms trembling. Pulling her close to me, I leap near the FEMA trailer. Cutting down a few walkers I manage to Maggie and myself inside and close the door.

Maggie sat against the wall trembling from fright, tying to process her near death experience. Giving her a minute to recoup, I look out of the window to check on the groups progress.

There was no way for them to make its back to the Pick, cutting their loses, the start move diagonally. Out the horde Zone. Through the town. Hopefully they could lose them in the town and find another ride back to the farm. They only good part about them fleeing on foot was the effect it had on the horde.

Small group of walkers broke off to go catch the meal. While the rest seemed to be regrouping. However, they didn't just group up and move in a direction. They started to fill wholes in the main horde. From what I could tell, the main horde was slowly acc.u.mulating walkers to surround the entire high school.

There weren't necessarily that many walkers, but it was enough to put pressure on us and corner of apart of the school. Putting their numbers in about the mid-300s.

Kneeling in front of Maggie, I place my hands on both sides of her face.

"Maggie, look at me…We can't stay here. The longer we stay the harder it is to leave. You fought back once. I know you can do it again. Do you want to survive?"

She meekly nods her head in affirmation,

"Then you need to get up, Harden yourself, and fight with me. There's no sweet words, unexpected confession of unplanned love. Just us in this f.u.c.k.e.d up world. And I want you to put whatever you're feeling right now, in a little a.s.s box. And leave that bitch here."

Holding eye contact with her, I pull out my short straight-backed all black Chisa Katana

"I need you to find your inner Warrior! If not to help me or yourself, Then at least for your family back at that cozy little farm of yours"

Maggie's jaw visibly clenches, and her eyes narrow. She could do it if she tried. And in this very moment she had decided to try.

"Take it and kill them all if you want to live. It's easy, I've seen you do it just now. Follow close, and anything that gets passed me, I want you to kill. Can you do that for me Maggie?"

Maggie reaches out and takes the all black Chisa Katana and nods her in agreement.

"Good now let's get the f.u.c.k out of here. Watch carefully and act accordingly. If you're too slow then they would start to pile up and overpower, you. Always slash and stab at the head and be aware of your surroundings in case of sneak attacks and look before engaging. Now put this on and get ready to fight"

I threw her a gator neck that she put and covered her mouth and nose

Seeing that she was ready. I held out my katana and revolve my qi. Opening the trailer door, I toss out my last frag to give us some fighting room. Once outside we see a horde that looked like it had no end. I was dead set on getting out of this shit alive. But something felt good about turn something so soft and meek into a Valkyrie.

Boom! I push off the ground and shot into the horde. Every time I moved; bodies dropped. I repeated the same 9 sword forms and returned to the 1st form. Every time I return to the 1st form my qi disintegrated anything within a yard of me and my qi became denser, purer.

As I was taking on the horde to hone my sword skills and refine my qi. I intentionally kicked walkers to Maggie as she slashed and stab anything that came her way. It took a while, but basic slashes and stabs became more fluid and created an order in which she delivered each blow.

Without her realizing she started to advance behind me and as I slaughtered a horde for the first time. She slaughtered whatever I gave her. We went for an hour until the last twenty or so walkers came to us.

Maggie's eyes were like a blade. I could see her arms and body were tired and trembling. But her arms and blade stayed at 45-degree angle pointing to the ground ready to execute he next blow

"Maggie, do you see what the only cure is, that you can possibly give these monsters?"

"Death. We can only give them true death. And if more come then we slaughter them too."-Maggie

"Yes, now relax. When I finish them, we can go home." with moving a step, I executed a horizontal slash and the Qi flew from my blade and cut through the heads of the last walkers.

Looking back at Maggie she just stood there. I might have gone too far but, it had to be done. she was too naive.

"Maggie, are you okay?" I ask her.

"Bayek, we were so wrong. About everything..." Maggie looked me with tears rolling down her face.

"They're really dead aren't they. And only we can give them true death." -Maggie

Maggie drops the blade and fall to her knees. Tears continued to roll

"They're not coming back, Bayek. My mom, brother, friends… Everyone became a f.u.c.k.i.n.g walking corpse!"-Maggie

I kneel next to her and pull her into my c.h.e.s.t as she cries for a while longer.

"I can't move Bayek; my body hurts too much, and I can't move."-Maggie

" don't worry, I'll get you back." I tell her as I grab my second blade off the ground and then pick her up to take her back to the pickup truck.

I could now sense anything within 3-mile radius and now I know how to use my qi to attack making it easier to slaughter hordes.

Reaching the truck, I put Maggie in the passenger seat and buckled her up. She had over exhorted herself and fell unconscious during the walk back. I had come to realize; something was wrong with Maggie. Her veins were turning black and her body temperature had skyrocketed. But , as far as I could tell. She wasn't bit or scratched.

Roahhhhhhhh! A dep bellied roar rolled across the school rounds breaking my concentration. And at the edge of my senses for a split second I saw something

3rd POV

Back at the farmhouse, everyone sat around awaiting Teams return. They were becoming more and more anxious and their mind began to think the worst, until the sound of a truck pulling up could be heard outside. Stopping in front of the steps. Morales and Em rushed out the truck pulled out the supplies they needed to save Otis and Carl, handed everything to the group to take it in to the house.

Hershel immediately hooked Otis up, assuming that, Bayek would come in and work on Carl. However, neither Bayek nor Maggie walked through the door

"Where's Shane?" Lori asked

"Where is My Daughter?" Hershel was next

The newly arrived team fell silent. Morales stepped up and explained the easiest situation first

"We were coming out of the FEMA trailer and horde started to come back, had threw a flash bang to lead them away. But something was weird about this horde. There was so many of them and we couldn't make it back to the pickup truck, so we ran deeper into town.

At some point fighting through the horde, Shane was bit. But in order to save Carl, he wanted to sacrifice April, she twisted her knee and was slowing us down. Obviously the tried off wasn't far so we left him to the horde"

The group was shocked, Rick especially. He thought Morales was going to say Shane sacrificed himself, but the reality was a little hard to swallow. But, seeing the severely inflamed knee on April, was hard to deny.

"But what about my daughter?" Hershel asked panic stricken

"And Bayek" Benji's voice came from the back

"Maggie was new. She froze and fell behind. She's okay though, Bayek went back for her. She's in good hands. He won't let anything happen to her. Hershel." Finn explained the situation

"But they're surrounded by a horde. The last I check, I saw Bayek pulling Maggie into the FEMA trailer to hold up…. We're going back for them. We just need you to save the boy, Please"

Hershel didn't even respond; he went pale and it was like he was on auto pilot as he walked to Carl's room to take out the remaining fragments.
