Boom! Boom! When the Bucket Bombs exploded, it took out six block and ignited the gas line. Causing a chain explosion throughout the city. Bayek and his people drove as fast as they could. When they finally hit Kingsbridge road, Turning down the street . Hazel and Finn drove side by side in the Humvees, while April and Em started mowing down walkers with the 50 cal. . Bayek gave everyone one job. Don't stop.

Rolling over walkers the horde began to get thicker and bringing the convoy to a complete stop.

"Pull your gunners back in and close the hatches" Bayek radioed in

"This where we f.u.c.k them off!" Killing the transmission. Bayek stepped out the LMTV and started slaughtering the horde. Given his team some room to exit the vehicles for a fighting chance.

Hazel was the first step from the Humvee. And began shooting arrows. April got back on the 50 Cal, followed by Em. Finn the stepped-out guns blazing. Followed by Miranda and Morales.

A blood bath, it was. A Bayek continued to cut down walkers. When Hazel Ran out of arrows, she pulled out two Kukri knifes and proceed to cut them down.

"Pick up the slack" Bayek then sprinted to the side of the road and started pulling cars to create a roadblock to cover the rear. Five dead cars was all he had, but it was enough to build a funnel.

"Miranda. Fire down the line. Don't stop shooting" As the walkers came through the funnel they were cut down, while Morales picked of the ones who found their way around the death trap.

The battle continued as the City of Carrollton was going up in flames.

"Push through!" Finn shouted signaling for whoever could, to drive a vehicle. Miranda and Morales took an LMTV each. Finn and Hazel got back in the Humvee's and started pushing on.

"Benji!" Bayek called out. Benji popped his head over the rails of the LMTV

"Now you can do it!" Benji's faced beamed like a thousand rays of sun. opening a crate near his feet. He pulled out grenade and started tossing them to the rear. This kept the Walkers from trailing to close behind.

The Group took it nice and easy . Pushing through. The plan must have worked. Since the horde size only decreased . the group pushed forward all the way to Mt Zion Road. That is until the sound of metal hitting metal echoed. The 50 Cal was out of rounds. And the only way to re-up was to stop and get more from the LMTV. Shortly after the sound echoed again. The last 50 Cal was dead. Thankfully the horde was starting to thin.

Bayek took a step cut a path through for the vehicles once on Mt Zion road. Bayek leaped on to the LMTV and shouted, "Punch it!".

Managing to break though it was smooth sailing. As smooth as could be. Walkers that were on their way to join the horde, were met on the road and put down . Bayek believed the more they killed now, the less walkers they had to fight in the future.

Some ways down Mt Zion Road, the convoy finally stopped to recuperate. The had found out the ammunition and explosives were low. The explosive besides flash bang were practically nonexistent. As the crew got themselves together, Bayek observed them. He came to the conclusion, that people must have to be under physical distress for them to evolve. And severely be pushed passed their limits.

Maggie overexerted herself to the point her body shut down on her. With this many people with guns, the possibility of evolution soon was unlikely. Bayek had told the crew about the walker's evolving and vaguely told them about the changes that probably happened in Maggie. But one thing over everything Bayek said had stuck with them. We were all sick.

Bayek Promised if he could find a lab, he would be able to learn for everyone, but until then he would have to investigate the old-fashioned way. For those who believed Bayek, chalked his inhuman abilities up to his advanced evolution theory.

"Bayek, food and water is good for now. But we can't take on another horde with our fire power."

Bayek just nodded "Let's mount up. I have a feeling that horde are thinker in the city's due to the food supply. If the first level of evolution is consumption of humans, that explains why a variant would appear in cities. The bigger the city, the more of them there are."

"Then why do they eat each other" Benji broke into the conversation

Bayek looked at him and then at the crew "To get to level 3. But it must have to eat a lot. That's why is bring the hordes to it. A food factory and personal army all in one."

Bayek's words were a little disturbing "how can they find us though even if we stay hidden," Miranda asked

"I think I've figured that out as well. Think of them as parasites that require a host to survive. Its genetically ingrained in parasites to be attracted to heat. Now think of Nazis, they believed in a pure race, and in order to do that, they had to cleanse the impurity, think of that concept. But in this case in order to receive purer genetics you must physically take it.

The walkers need us to evolve or we kill them like cattle. So, mother nature made them attracted to the silent genetic code that can mutate us. And the more of that DNA they acquire, the faster they evolve, the longer they live. These things want to wipe us out and use our DNA to make them superior."

Chills rolled down the group's spine "So we're walking homing beacons for walker hordes?" Em asked a little frantic and borderline distraught.

Bayek looked around and could see the emotions written on every one's face "Possibly, yes" he answered her in the surest way he could.
