The Convoy fired away. Sending everything they had at the stalkers. The stalkers were just too fast to track with normal eyes.

Boom! The male stalker ran into a trucked and sent it hurling into the building killing the driver and gunner. This was the start of a Massacre. The stalkers moved in between bullets and tore the fighters to shreds...

"I need more!" before the man could finish his request, the female stalker appeared in front of him. grasping his neck and shoulder. Pulling them in opposite directions . the stalker ripped the man's head and spine from his body. The convoy was in chaos.

And nobody could do anything about it.

"Here, hold this. " Bayek dropped the body of a dead variant in the arms of marine guarding the newly evolved people. Flashing towards the battle, Bayek engaged in a fight with the male stalker. Going blow for blow. Stepping into a blow, Bayek blocked upward with his left forearm and delivered a blow to the stalkers gut with his right fist. Stepping to the left side under the stalkers arm Bayek pulled it into a heavy knee strike crushing its c.h.e.s.t and breaking the stalkers locked arm. Stretching out his left arm Bayek grabbed hold of the frontside of the stalkers head and broke its neck backwards. Applying more pressure to the stalkers head. Popped like a balloon, spilling brain matter on Bayek's uniform

Bang! The sound of a riffle went off. Turning around. The female stalker had her brains blown out just before she could attack Bayek's backside. In the distance, one of the evolved people wearing an army uniform was holding an M-16, standing on the bed of the LMTV.

What's left of the convoy erupted in cheer. Prying to God guided their life. The stalker attack was fast and deadly. This was a wake-up call for Bayek. He had to kick his plan into overdrive. If he couldn't find a way to speed up the evolution of humans. The species would soon be wiped out

-3 Days Later-

So Benji says I've been acting like a real asshole lately and I should probably start writing my thoughts down a journal. I said it was f.u.c.k.i.n.g dairy but Benji insists that's its call a journal when guys do it. Honestly, I could give two f.u.c.ks. I just need some paper. To make a list of shit need for this next run. After the stalkers attacked. Yes, the variants are called stalkers now, at least the kind that track us down are called stalkers. Anyway, we made it to Jackson, and I want to hit the university for science lab supplies and possibly set up shop for a while to recoup. The people are kind still reeling in from the attack. So, this might be a pretty short stop for them.

Oh, and check this shit out. Cesar when to jail when he was young. He took the rap for his younger brother, Raul, that we just saved from the airport. But here's the f.u.c.k.e.d-up part. Cesar had a girlfriend, Yalissa, now Raul's wife and mother of his child, the little beauty Nadia, I'll tell you about her later. She's still 17. So, we'll give that some time. Even though she can't stop looking my way. I tell you this young body is working wonders for me. Especially since I started doing the meditation stuff from dragon ball z..

Okay, on serious note. Raul and Yalissa started sleeping together while Cesar was in jail. And the had Nadia together. Cesar kicked Raul's a.s.s when he got out, and they haven't seen each other for 17 years. Crazy shit right. But that's what I call brotherly love. Cesar came back for him, so I guess they're good now.

Okay on a serious, serious note. If we can set up shop in the university, I really think I can crack this whole advanced evolution thing. And boss up the entire f.u.c.k.i.n.g company. And it wouldn't be a problem but out of the new people we got. None of them can f.u.c.k.i.n.g cook Cajun style. So yes, New Orleans is still the f.u.c.k.i.n.g goal. Okay I'm tired of this. Narrator!

Third POV

So, it seems Bayek is finished talking.

It was three days after the stalker attack at the truck stop. The colonel's Convoy had finally arrived in Jackson and it was blessing. The weather was dropping and they days were growing shorter. The last thing this convoy needed was a winter on the road.

"Alright Gather around! I told all from the start what we are going to be doing is dangerous. But it's to save humanity. That is what we're fighting for. But that does not mean we ignore the deaths of our falling comrades. So, I'll lake to take this time, to respect their memory with a moment of silence.

Okay…We're in Jackson now, winter is here, and we need to find shelter, while I conduct research. I want ever one to pack their shit up tight and all was be ready to go. There houses all around us so find a bed and get some shut eye. In the near future, we will be moving on the university, clearing it and making it our winter cabin. That's it for now. Carry on!" In Bayek's past life he actually made it all the way to the rank of Brigadier General. Handle a unit of this size was easy work for him.

After Bayek's address sentries were posted and people started getting their rest. While Bayek and his original group convened in a near by house. Smoking joint and passing Liquor they found on their travels.

"So, everyone, I would like to officially introduce my brother Raul, his wife Yalissa, and my niece Nadia" Cesar stood up and spoke with his family standing next to him.

"Wooow…Yeaah" the group gave them a round of applause

"We're happy for you Cesar. Now pass the bottle..." Hazel spoke up and said what was on every one's mind. And the group broke out in laughter.

Bake just sat in the corner with a smile on his face looking over a map of Jackson and another map of the university. Looking over her shoulder, April saw Bayek following his usual routine. Smoke and map. Every time she seen him, he was working in someway shape or form.

Picking up a whiskey bottle she walked over to Bayek and took a seat next to him. There was no space left between the two. All concepts of personal space was void. Rest her head on his shoulder, April spoke at a volume only the two of them could her.

Across the way the a.d.u.l.ts spared a glance, but that was the end of it. They were all a.d.u.l.ts and they understood the situation. However, Hazel wasn't as experienced as the rest and couldn't help sparingly glance from time to time.

"Relax sweetheart. The Colonel maybe be young, but he has an extremely m.a.t.u.r.e soul, you can see it in his eyes. They know pain suffering, loss. They're experienced. He's a straightforward man and he needs a woman that's m.a.t.u.r.e. He's not for you, at least until you know the difference between his bed and Cesar's" Em spoke just loud enough for Hazel to hear. But all of they ladies heard as well. And then all eyes were on Hazel. Hazel had a look of confusion and so did Nadia.

Em's message was clear. But the last part went straight over their heads.

"It's consequences Mija" Yalissa spoke up

"Bayek's bed is the bed of a leader. Taking care of all of our lives… Cesar's bed belongs to me. I'll be your biggest problem if you if you start something with my husband. But it's nothing compared to what you'll have to handle if you start up Bayek. Can you handle all of our problem's like April can when he's not around. Could you have said no to Bayek's plan and changed the course to Jackson?" Miranda clarified. And the meaning of Em's words dawned on Hazel. She took one more look at Bayek and April, then just took another hit of the joint.

What could she do? How could she compare? She was just a senior in high school before the outbreak. Even tho she was 18 years old, technically an a.d.u.l.t, she was no where near the the kind of woman April was.

All the woman sympathized with the Hazel. Em leaned over and pulled her into and embrace. "I'm not saying don't try, babe. I'm just saying relax, and take your time. M.a.t.u.r.e a little before taking on a man with that much baggage."

Hazel looked up at Em "Thank you,Emma.."

Em rocked her a little with a smile on her face, she said " Somebody has to take care of you, Babe. You're still a young woman"

Hazel looked around and saw Yalissa holding onto Nadia, and Miranda. They all had smiles on their face while the looked at her. Hazel felt at home. Like she had a mom, aunts, sisters, hell just some type of female support for the first time in her life. And it gave her comfort.
