Chapter 62 - Forgotten Feeling

Arthur and Summer sat, staring blankly at each other, both their faces rosy as they attempted to figure out what to do after Fairy had tricked them into an indirect kiss.

"L-let's not overthink this" Summer said, turning her head away from Arthur in embarrassment.

"Y-yeah" Arthur replied, also turning his head away and scratching his cheek awkwardly.

After a minute or two their faces began to lose their rosy tint and they both simultaneously took a deep breath to calm themselves, before looking to each other and giving a light and awkward chuckle.

"J-just a child imprinting on two older people, that's it, just a child imprinting" Summer said, nervousness in her voice as she gulped slightly.

"Y-yeah, you just think we'd make good parents, isn't that right" Arthur said looking into Fairy's sparkling eyes that quickly went blank as she heard what they both said.

In response to their attempts to alleviate the awkwardness, Fairy quickly shook her head a frustrated expression on her face as she pointed to Arthur and said "Pa-papa" and then to Summer to Summer who now felt sweat running down her back "M-a, mama" and lastly using both hand she pointed to both Arthur and Summer and say "Lu-la-laff…lovf" her face getting increasingly frustrated as the word wouldn't come out, but as she kept attempting both Arthur and Summer turned red as they realized what she was trying to achieve "Loof… lovpha….love…love! Mmm!" Fairy's face brightened as she hummed in happiness as she sent her bright grin to both Summer and Arthur, whose cheeks had gone fully crimson, eyes locked as they tried to gauge each other's reactions before they both turned to Fairy seeing her smiling brighter than the sun.

Looking back up to each other their eyes locked for a moment but they quickly broke this as they both quickly turned their heads away, this time failing to reign in the rising heat to their faces.

"I-I think I-I'll go" Summer said as she pushed herself up from her seat after putting the bowl on the nightand next to the bed, but pausing when she heard a light sniff coming from Fairy, who's eyes had turned moist, her lower lip trembling as she reached out to Summer as if she were being abandoned.

Seeing this Summer's heart melted and she just couldn't bring herself to leave, even as she turned to looked to Arthur and felt the heat in her cheeks rising and her eyes seemingly unable to leave his eyes, "I-I can stay for a while l-longer" Summer said lowering herself back into the chair, as Fairy seemed to just snap out of her sadness as the moistness in her eyes had disappeared returning to their usual bright and sparkly appearance and her smile once again returned, all within a matter of seconds.

'She tricked me…' Summer thought, slumping slightly into her chair and putting her hands over her face in embarrassment at just how susceptible she was to the surprisingly manipulative Fairy.

"Kish" Fairy muttered, causing both Arthur and Summer to spit-take and look to her, eyes once again wide and mouth hanging open as they starred at her unblinkingly in shock, "Mama, Papa… Kish…kiss." She said, giving a happy nod once the word came out right.

"Di-did you just say we should…" Arthur muttered but stopped before he could finish as Fairy looked to want to finish the sentence.

"Kiss!" She happily finished for him leaving Arthur speechless before looking to Summer to ask for help, after all, she had raised two children, maybe she knew how to deal with this new challenge. Yet, before he could even say anything Summer had already covered her face with her hands, her blush having completely covered her body, turning her hands a light pink flush.

Letting out a groan Arthur turned back to Fairy and began to say "Fairy… we can't do that…" he said, his voice cracking ever so slightly as he thought about what 'that' was, "W-we just can't, Summer has a husband, and I can barely even get my head around everything that's happening with Ruby" he said, visibly flinching when he heard the 'Eep' Summer let out when he said she had a husband, and flinched once again when he saw Fairy's face breaking down into tears.

"D-don't look at me like that!" Arthur complained as Fairy's eyes got wider and wider eventually giving her a puppy dog face, "It-it's not going to work on me!", he said, thoroughly unconvincingly, "S-Summer! You tell her" he pleaded turning to Summer, who was twiddling her thumbs while looking to the ground.

"W-well, uhh… Me and Tai haven't exactly been 'together'…" She muttered, "W-we sort of broke up after I got back..." she said poking her index fingers together face still scarlet from Fairy's little 'suggestion'.

"What? Ruby and Yang never said anything about that." Arthur said in surprise.

"We, haven't really told them, we didn't want to break our family apart until Ruby and Yang could care for themselves, and Tai had already fallen for someone else while I was away, so I couldn't just ask him to break it off with her" she explained "That's sort of another reason I came to Beacon, I wanted to give them some space so we could get ready to break it to Ruby and Yang"

"Summer…" Arthur muttered and leant forward to her grabbing one of her hands he gave it slight and reassuring clench, "Ruby and Yang would understand, I'd even wager they already have an idea that you two aren't together, they're not the types to be so greedy when it comes to the happiness of others, especially their parents, hell I wouldn't be surprised if Yang took you out to clubs and act as your wingman" he said, feeling a light tap on his side from Fairy, who gave him a look that conveyed, 'My job' to him.

"Th-thank you…" Summer said, staring at her hand that Arthur had grabbed her mind focusing on the comforting coolness radiating from his hand, which seemed to infect her body, causing her body wide flush to begin to dissipate, eventually leaving her with only her cheeks a bright red.

Fairy, seeing this gained a wide and mischievous smile, keeping particularly quiet and still, anticipating that her goal would soon be accomplished

While Arthur was busy trying to decipher Fairy's unusual and strangely ominous smile for a particularly small eleven year old, that he felt his hand slightly rising, looking up to her Arthur had barely even a moment to react before he felt a soft sensation assault his lips as Summer had pushed hers against his, her eyes bleary and in a daze, her mind hazy and having lost her reason for a moment, as a few seconds after she had kissed him that her eyes bolted open, meeting with Arthur's who was as equally as surprised, while just a little away from them Fairy had thrown her hand into the air in victory,

Yet, once Summer had realized what she had done, she didn't pull back, instead she just stood there stock still as her mind began to process what had happened, the years she had been alone, locked up in a cell, the years after where she had spent awkwardly watching as the man she loved moved on to someone else while she had stayed away from others, rarely wandering out and finding comfort on her lonesome, as she had become accustom to over her years in captivity. Her feeling of loneliness only kept acc.u.mulating over the years, and had now come out in full burst as her mind broke down the last of its walls she began to push the kiss even further becoming more and more passionate the more her walls crumbled.

Arthur at first was surprised, initially wanting to break it off due to her clearly daze state, yet, when her eyes opened in realization and she didn't stop instead becoming more and more passionate as her eyes cleared up even more, yet at once her eyes moistened and tears began to pour from her eyes.

Seeing this Arthur tried to pull back so he could ask her what was wrong, yet Summer would only push even more, as if trying to make up for the years she had been alone, until eventually Arthur's was against the wall preventing him from breaking it.

Arthur, finally seeing her determination felt his lips curl upwards slightly as his hand lifted and cupped her cheek while his other went around her back and onto her lower back, pulling her atop the bed and onto him, Fairy having moved out of the way when Summer had first started.

he began to push back against Summer, his own lips getting more and more passionate and intense, causing Summer's eyes to begin to flutter while her body went limp the moment their tongues intertwined.

Eventually their passion came to an end as a particularly loud grumble resounded through the infirmary causing both their eyes to widen in realization as they had forgotten one thing, Fairy. So with their lips still connect the looked to see Fairy who was staring at her stomach in pure hatred for ruining the mood she had worked so hard to create.

Looking back to each other, Summer and Arthur let both let out a snort of laughter and gave each other one last kiss before separating their lips, leaving a small line connecting them, all the while Fairy looked depressed, lightly holding her furiously grumbling stomach, discontent that the porridge that had been made for it wasn't being given to it.

"I'll get a new one, this has gone cold" Summer said, picking up the bowl and quickly began walking to the door, leaving Arthur staring at her as she walked away, gulping slightly when he saw the sway of her h.i.p.s.

Once she was outside the infirmary Summer immediately rested her back against the wall her free hand going up to her lips, still feeling the residual coolness of Arthur's lips on hers "That was my first kiss in ten years…" she muttered, a smile forming n her lips as she began to walk towards the dinning hall, almost skipping along the way.

"You are a surprisingly manipulative eleven year old, y'know that?" Arthur said, staring at Fairy who gave him her make shift peace sign in response and causing Arthur to let out a chuckle.

"But why Summer? You just met her why would you want her to be your mother and not say Coco or Velvet? You've known them for longer so you know them better than Summer" Arthur asked

"Mmmm... Sis…ters" She answered after a moment of deliberation, leaving Arthur slack jawed before he let out a hearty laugh that hurt his sides.

"So the others are like sisters to you then" Arthur asked his smile getting wider "And why Summer then? I doubt it's just because the others are like sisters to you, as I've just seen, your much, much smarter than that" he stated.

"Nnn! Su..mmer, li..ke… mama…" she answered.

"Summer's like your mother?" Fairy gave a quick nod, but then shook her head and added "Sim..ilar… not… same… Summer… sadder… happ…ier now."

With a smile Arthur said "so it seems" while looking back to the doorway where Summer had just left.

"Doesn't change the fact that you're a tricky little minx"
