Chapter 63 - Jelly

"Well, that was fun…" Yang muttered sarcastically, her hands on the back of her head as she walked down the corridor heading back to the infirmary along with her sister and Blake while Weiss said she needed to look for something so she headed towards the library while Coco and Velvet headed back to their dorm room to rest after the day of excitement.

"It was like when I was first offered to come to Beacon…" Ruby added, shivering at the recollection of Glynda's riding crop snapping against the interrogation room table from after she had stopped a robbery.

As they were walking they began to hear a light humming from around one of the corners, tilting their heads trying to figure out who might still be awake so late, the peaked their head around the corner, causing Yang and Ruby's eyes to widen in realization as they saw Summer humming to herself while carrying a tray with two bowls on it.

"Isn't that Summer?" Blake questioned, tilting her head up to Yang whose head was peaking around the corner directly above her own.

"Yeah… but I haven't seen her that happy in years" Yang added.

"And isn't that the infirmary?" Blake questioned once again

"Yeah…" Ruby muttered and looked up to Blake and Yang who all gave her a nod as they quickly ran to the door putting their ears to it and began to eaves drop, while also opening it slightly so they could peak in.

"Welcome back" Arthur said, giving Summer a light smile as she entered the infirmary carrying a tray filled with two bowls of steaming porridge, a sweet smile on her face as she looked to Fairy who was drooling as she stared unblinkingly at the tray, and then to Arthur, causing them both to lightly flush as they held their gaze for a few seconds.

Summer walked up to them and placed the tray on the nightstand, handing Arthur one of the bowls "H-here", all the while Fairy stared at the bowl changing hands with the eyes of a starving tiger, seeing this Arthur raised and lowered the bowl, chuckling as her head followed the exact movements of the bowl, if it slight twitched so too would her head, "You hungry?" he asked amus.e.m.e.nt in his voice.

"Mmm!" she happily hummed in response putting her hands out to the bowl in a futile attempt to grab it from him, not that she would be able to easily eat from it without tipping it into her mouth.

Laughing Arthur brought the bowl down, and took a spoonful, bringing it up to Fairy, who did her usual tooth shattering chomp onto the spoon, bliss on her face as she tasted the cinnamon in the porridge.

Summer hadn't even begun eating her own bowl as she was too busy watching the heart-warming scene of the melting Fairy and the smiling Arthur who was holding the spoon as far back as he could in the hopes on not losing his fingers.

As Arthur brought the spoon to his mouth so that he too could eat something Fairy let out a panicked "Nnn!", stopping him in his tracks "You don't want to share… do you…" he asked, body slumping as he watched Fairy nod and open her mouth anticipating the food.

"Somehow… I expected this…" Arthur muttered as Fairy snapped her teeth onto the spoon with enough power that she almost tore it from Arthur's hand. Summer giggling at the side watching the two with a smile

"Here" Summer said bring a spoonful from her own bowl up to Arthur's mouth, "Thanks" Arthur said and quickly ate from it, while Fairy gave displeased snaps with her mouth as she watched, obviously displeased at Arthur's lack of technique.

"Not everyone has teeth like you" Arthur said to Fairy, another snap and metallic clang resounding through the infirmary. Seemingly displeased with this thought Fairy gave a light "Mmph!" and turned her head away for Arthur.

As if to disprove that fact another loud snap was heard as Summer snapped down onto her on spoon getting her a high five from Fairy and a sigh from Arthur, "I'm not taking either of you to a dentist if you break your teeth" he said pointing at the two with his spoon.

Silence overtook the infirmary for a moment before both Summer and Arthur began laughing while Fairy's head began to droop, the excitement from the day finally having come at her full force as she let out a loud yawn and collapsed onto Arthurs l.a.p, her body curling up like a cat.

Once Fairy was settled Arthur gently pulled the blanket over her and began to lightly run his hand over her hair as she began let out high pitched snores.

"I would love to just be able to shut down like that…" Arthur muttered and turned to Summer who was resting her head against her hand which was propped up on the armrest of the chair, her eyes locked with Arthur's a happy smile on her face, "So… that happened" he said, "What do we do now?" he asked

Summer kept quiet for a moment before saying, "I, don't really know… I wasn't expecting to get another daughter out of nowhere" she said, her voice soft and her head tilted to the side as she watched Fairy's sleeping face, she then turned to Arthur, her smile even sweeter "And another thing~" while putting her fingers to her lips, causing Arthur's face to flush slightly.

"I still can't believe that happened" he said in response, gulping slightly at the memory of the sweet taste of Summer's lips.

"Hmm~ Well it did, and I don't think I would have changed how I had done it if things were different" she said, pushing herself from her chair and taking a step towards Arthur, before kneeling down next to the bed at eyelevel with Fairy, her hand gently running over Fairy's cheek.

"You know Ruby's going to have a heart attack, right?" he asked, his hand now moving to Summer's head, trailing down her cheek until his hand reached her chin, at which point he tilted her gaze up to his.

Lifting her body to follow Arthur's light pull she said, "That's what Yang's for" she replied her knee coming up onto the bed while her face got closer to Arthur's, "Plus, it's Ruby, she'll panic for a bit then she'll calm down, then Yang'll probably talk to her for a bit", her face now just inches from Arthurs.

"True" he chuckled as he threw one of his hands onto her hip and pushed his head forward, pressing his lips against hers as she too pushed herself onto his. Her legs going weak from the feeling of Arthur lightly biting her lower lip and causing her eyes to flutter before Arthur separated from her leaving her to let her body slump against him.

"T-that was, oh my…" Summer said, pushing herself up and off of Arthur, stumbling back into her seat, "T-that was a first, I've never felt like jelly before" she muttered, her eyes watery as she looked to Arthur as if expecting something… more, and causing Arthur to gulp at the sight of the Summer with her smooth porcelain white skin and bright red lips.

But just then he saw something out the corner of his eye three small light, three shinning orbs of Silver, Lilac and Amber, "Shit…" Arthur muttered, his eyes going wide as all three eyes locked with his, but not moving in the slightest.

Seeing Arthur suddenly freeze in place and hearing the awkward and nervous chuckling when he saw something. So she slowly turned around feeling sweat pouring down her back as she too got an awkward smile and began to nervously laugh when she saw the eyes of Ruby and Yang staring through a crack in the door.

"Yang… are they… is she?" Ruby asked her mouth hanging open in disbelief as she stared at her mother kissing Arthur, and quite intimately at that.

"Kissing, oh yeah, told you there was something there" Yang said, lightly punching Ruby's back.

"Why do you sound so happy!?" Ruby whisper screamed.

"Because, didn't you see the smile on her face! I've never seen her so happy before! Plus, it shows us just how good Arthur is, look at that! She's melting! I have NEVER seen that before! I wonder how it feels…" she muttered, gulping in excitement as her eyes began to glitter.

"But she's our mom!" Ruby retorted.

"Meh, we already anticipated it; she's been at the top of the list since we made it." Yang waved her off.

"I never expected for anything to actua-" just before she finished Blake interrupted their little spat.

"Uuuhhh, guys… he's looking…" she said, her face having gone red from listening to Summer and Arthur and the almost risqué sight, in her hands a note book and pen as she noted things down.

"Eh?" Both Ruby and Yang muttered, turning their eyes to look at Arthur and locking with his white eyes, all three of them began to awkwardly laugh alongside Arthur, and soon Summer as she too looked towards them, locking eyes with her two daughters.

"We should go…" Blake muttered and began to slowly back away from the infirmary door.

"Yeah… good idea" Yang replied, also backing away from the door, while Ruby stood in front of the door staring at it, her hand wrapping around the door which she then quickly threw open, now leaving her standing there while staring at Summer and Arthur, a large frown on her face.

"Ahahaha" Arthur nervously laughed as he watched Ruby take a single step forward, only for her to suddenly be pulled back into the hallway and the door to slam shut behind her, Ruby screaming for Yang to let her go. Through the door they could hear the muffled screech of what they assumed to be Ruby, if she decided to take up a career as a nevermore.

Arthur turned to Summer who also looked to him, both turning silent, the only sound being that of Fairy's light snores and grumbles as she slept atop Arthur's l.a.p.

"I guess we don't have to worry about Ruby…" Arthur said, his voice uncertain.

"Yeah…" Summer replied, unsure about what to say, at least until she opened her mouth and let out a large yawn, which immediately caused Arthur to heartily laugh and say "That just happened and all you can think about is sleep?", his laugh causing Fairy to stir slightly but return back to sleep once Arthur began to stroke her hair.

"It's late, what did you expect? Me not to be tired, especially after going jelly?" she replied, limply flailing her arms around as a form of proof.

"I guess it is getting late now…" he turned looking out the window into the pitch-black campus, through one of the windows on the building opposite, where the dormitories were he could see Yang pulling Ruby along by the hood of her cloak, arms crossed and a pouting expression on her face.

"Tomorrows going to be… exciting? Tiring? Oh god I am not looking forward to Ruby and Yang's interrogation" he said, turning back to Summer, his eyes opening wider when he saw her slumped into her seat, eyes closed and lightly breathing.

"Hey, Ashe… what are my chances of survival for tomorrow?" he asked aloud, causing his Tome to hover in front of him and open to show Ashe snapping her fingers, "Fifty-fifty, I can live with that" he muttered and rested his head against the headrest.

"Could you turn the light off please?" he asked, and moments later a thud was heard from the wall next to the door followed by the lights in the infirmary going dark, "Thanks"

Alternate Chapter names: [Eavesdroppers] [End of the day]

Okay, so I've been meaning to ask for a while but how would you rate my writing? From all the positive response I've gotten so far I'd say I'm pretty good, but that just sounds arrogant coming from me, so I'd really like to know where I'd stand as a writer and if I can actually say i'm a good writer.

Also, any interest in lemons? These would be purely side and I don't want them to just be there for the sake of it, I don't want the story devolving into a H story, I've read a novel where that happens and it really just gets annoying when every other chapter is a lemon, and I really don't want that, especially since I really enjoy writing this.

(P.S, told ya i'd get it out between 3 and 5)
