An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 119 - Abandoned Cinderella Saved By An Evil Fairy King (6)

"Oowww... Are you trying to kill me? What the hell is that?" Anna's mouth felt bitter and earthy and her tongue was itchy.

Observing the reaction of Anna, Jacob rolled his eyes, he offered water as he grumbled, "It is damn so hard to satisfy you. What do you expect here, a Thai restaurant or Italian cuisine? Think of it as a medicine and drink it."

While Jacob was reprimanding, Anna skimmed the soup examining the ingredients, she then picked a cooked leaf in the soup bowl and enquired Jacob, "What leaf is this?"

"That's a wild herb. Its name is... wait a second. Let me check the book."

Jacob opened the waist pack zip and took out the mini book inside. He turned the pages and pointed out a plant, and then he stated, "Dill leaves. You'll get a significant boost of vitamin C, an important antioxidant that helps your body to resist infection.

I have also added Basil leaves. It will remove toxins from your body and increase metabolism. It also contains antioxidants."

Anna questioned again, "Are you sure this is edible?! I don't want to be your guinea pig."

Jacob gritted his teeth as he teased, "Look at you... Even at this condition, you don't seem to lag in arguing and harassing me."

'Ungrateful brat!'

Though Jacob swore under his breath, Anna's sharp ears caught the phrase.

"Jacob! I heard it." Although Anna so much wanted to smack him, Exhaustion took over her as they both bickered for a little longer than her body can last.

"Holy crow! Here comes the second round of tug war." Jacob muttered and prepared to receive the wrath from his personal Queen descended from hell.

To his astonishment, she leaned against his shoulder as drowsiness engulfed her, and her vision zoned out.

Jacob felt a little comforted, he examined once again to make sure, "Is she sure passed out?!"

To his horror, he heard a mild voice, "Don't even think about it, I am still hanging in here. Feed me, I need carbs."

"Yes, Almighty!" Jacob took one scoop full of soup and fed her.

This time unlike earlier, Anna gulped down without hesitating. But her nose wrinkled and her eyebrows knitted together in protest.

Jacob chuckled at her reaction, "You sure know how to talk tough."

Anna commented in between, "I feel like eating mud."

"Is it?" Unable to believe, Jacob took a sip as well. He spat it out instantly.

"My mouth... I should have washed the truffles thrice at least. My bad! Hmm... Why don't you try the meat instead? It is tender and juicy."

Jacob hand over the meat wrapped in leaves to Anna. She took only three bites. In the fourth bite, she felt nausea.

Afraid that she might vomit, she put the meat down and drank some warm water to ease the feeling.

Jacob noticed that her face was turning pale for each passing second, he suggested Anna, "You need to rest. You are pale as a ghost."

"Mmm..." Anna nodded in agreement for the first time, or you can even say that she was fully exhausted to snap back at him.

Jacob helped Anna to lie on her stomach, she winced at every tiny movement. Once he safely set her injured leg in the pillow. He stood up to walk out of the tent.

As he prepared to leave, Anna called, "Jacob!"

Jacob turned back to take a look at the girl lying down. He raised his left eyebrow as if questioning her, 'What?'

She replied, "Thank you!"

Jacob smiled at her small gesture and walked out of the tent to restart the treehouse project.

He got to speed up the work double since the wild creatures are lurking around their vicinity.
